I'm quite pleased that these are remakes. I never had a chance to get the OT sets from this wave, so I'm glad that I'll be able to pick them up. I can see why people would hate or dislike the new wave, cespecially those that have the sets.

I had to google Airen Cracken. But it seems he was in the millenium falcon during the battle of endor together with Lando and Nien Numb.

That could mean it's Nien Numb we be getting (pure speculation though)

Even if it is Tien tumb or whatever his name is, I hope he won't have his face covered with a mask this time, so he can be modded to be Nien Numb.

Well it seems this is the ship we looking for

wolf6.png

Yes, that was one of the ships I saw yesterday ... I really didn't think much of it!

I wrote the report on FBTB, so if you have questions, please ask and I will try my best to remember the details ... obviously you need to remember that I have NOTHING to refer to other than an audio recording of whatever I or the presenters were saying about whatever set it was they were holding at the time! I've posted some answers to the questions asked on FBTB in the thread over there, too.

One correction regarding the B wing ... it does NOT come with a Y Wing pilot ... I meant B Wing!

Hi, do you remember if Ten Numb had a molded head and whether he had breathing aparatus?

As stated in the original article, the minifigures were not at the fair. Only a small 2D picture of them and as I don't have an identikit memory, I can't answer this in the detail you want! Sorry ...

so looking back at the report, it states the new at-at has 1138 pieces (about 300 more than the last one.) and less minfigs then the previous version, yet they say it's smaller. so unless they packed the interior full of all kind of detail, something isn't quite right. but then again, I guess it could change before it's release.

Maybe it's bigger on the inside, like a big ball of wibbly, wobbly timey whimey stuff.

I didn't note the piece counts. They weren't listed by the sets themselves. They might have been on the prelim boxes that were on a shelf, but I didn't inspect those.

Also, I am comparing it to the 4483 version of the AT-AT. That's the one I have at home. That had 1068 pieces, so if the piece count of 1138 is right, that's only a difference of 70. Maybe the difference is in the greebling and use of technic pieces in the legs? Obviously, I didn't have the two side by side to compare, it's just that it seemed the main body and head were slightly smaller in the new version.

Also someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 4483 is the largest of the three previous incarnations.

piece wise, the motorized version from 2007 was the largest. with 1137 pieces. which means the new at-at will beat it by ONE piece. although in terms of actual size, I'm not sure. I only own the 2010 version with 815 pieces. Edited by arc

Unless they actually measured it, there is no way it could be smaller than the 2010 at-at (which even featured a separate build). It is difficult to go by memory and say something is bigger or smaller. I think the more likeliness is that it is the exact same size if not slightly bigger. What happens is when these sets are displayed in a wide open show floor, your sense of size begins to shrink. There are sets that I own that I swear seam bigger at home than they do on the lego store floor.

that is a good point, I guess we'll have to wait for it to be released to know for sure.

I'd totally forgotten that there was an AT-AT released in 2010. I never bought it, because it wasn't as good as 4483, in my opinion. Looking at the pic of 8129 on Brickset vs my hazy memories of yesterday, I would say the new one and 8129 are similar sized, but both smaller than 4483.

Reading the brief reports available, i feel quite appetized - especially by the OT sets. Will we get to see legal pictures anytime soon? Are visitors allowed to take pics of the exhibited sets at the upcoming toy fairs?

The New York Toy Fair typically allows the majority of the sets shown there to be photographed by all attendees in a close-to-finalized state.

Good to know, thanks. :classic:

When do the toy fairs open their gates?

Anyone else bought Rieekan for a large sum last year from Bricklink? And now they put him in the advent calendar. :( The Santa trooper sounds interesting though. Hopefully it´ll be a red stormtrooper and not a clone.

The advent calendar version will very likely be slightly different from the Rieekan in the set. Probably a small change in the uniform design or a different hair piece.

Star Wars: Rebels will become a more important focus for Lego than the prequels, as it will be new and fresh, and will speak to the kids. Rebels is essentially an OT era show. OT sets have always sold better than prequel sets and with the original cast returning, Lego will definitely push the OT even more. A few occasional prequel sets may appear once in a blue moon, but the prequel era is over for all intents and purposes.

It is very likely although you can never tell with Lego so it remains to be seen. The only thing I am sad about is the fact that Lego never gave us a separatist capital ship or frigate.

I still think lego are wasting opportunities

Doubt it. Star Wars sells and Lego are aware of that so they will continue to make whatever sets they please and bring the money in.

Feb 16-19th. We should expect FBTB to give us extensive photo coverage, as they have for the past few years, by the end of the fair. Essentially, we have a month to wait before all of our questions will be answered.

The. Again, keep in mind the the Nuremberg fair is a bit sooner (end of this moth, I think), and they also allow pictures. So we may get some decent shots of the sets by next week.

well we did get the malevolence in 2012, and there is a project on cuusoo for the invisible hand which has over 6,500 supporters.

sounds great to me. can't wait to see the at-at and star destroyer!

It wouldn't surprise me if the AT-AT was filled with pieces that could have been done with 1 part but used 2 instead, like using 2 1x1 plates instead of a 1x2 plate. I noticed they appear to be doing that with quite a few more sets recently to justify their higher price point...

That's very good news, thank you!

I'm most excited to see how they've updated Vader. From the sounds of it, his helmet is the same old piece, but he'll have all new printing. It would be clever if they gave him a black waist cape along with his normal cape, since he has one.
