DarthPotato Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I've seen the catalog. The figures are Ezra Bridger, Kannan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla, and a Stormtrooper. Ah, thank you! That's the first time we've ever heard about two of those characters I think. Quote
Snowspeeder Pilot Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Look on general Rieekan minifig in the advent kalender and then the x wing pilot...the minifig head of the x wing fighter is really Dark!!!!!! I am afraid not, the rebel pilot has white gloves, this means Rogue Pilots in Hoth. The visor looks black like this guy: http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111104223711/starwars/images/d/d5/Wenton.JPG I hope for a new helmet, why not Wedge or his gunner. Quote
montgocloud Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I really hope the Rebels minifigures won't be stylized like the Clone Wars ones were. Well that Stormtrooper has the same printing and mold as the normal ones so that leads me to believe that they may not be... The Stormtrooper from the show is HEAVILY stylized. If it was going to be changed for the show, then a placeholder helmet would be seen on the figure (like they're doing for the preliminary photos of the Snowtrooper). Now will this be the normality for the rest of the figures? Only time will tell. I sure hope they are normal! Quote
Obi-wan Kenobi Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I don´t complain about new Snowspeeder,it´s still a prelim,also,I haven´t got one yet and I want it. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Do people actually army build from the Advent Calendar? There's never more than 2 figures I want from that set and for the price, definitely not worth it. The Ghost looks interesting but after comparing the LEGO version with the actual pictures, something looks off. I think it's the 2 canopies that are throwing it off. Quote

Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Well, someone mentioned earlier that due to the change of the license holder and cancelation of 3D EP I TLG would face difficulties on how to develop the product line further. I guess that there is some truth in this. But i also think that TLG has released quite a few niche sets in the last waves. The decline of the TCW animated series and the exploitation of ever rising prices while world economy is struggling might have led to shrinking sale numbers. Rarely i have seen such tremendeous sales within such a short timeframe. As a consequence - and to revive the general hype about the brand - rehashing older sets sounds absolutely reasonable. While the marketing campaigns for 'Rebels' are about to be set in motion TLG needs some safe bets to rely upon. If someone were new to the SW theme, a star destroyer, cantina, AT-AT, snowspeeder, Anakin with his starfighter, and a bunch of (non animated) clone war sets are pretty good starters to get into the hobby. I suppose that every serious collector needs them. Many (longtime) collectors also desire new iterations with new parts, building techniques and minifigures. The mentioned sets are absolutely iconic. While most of them have already been there, these are still pretty promising hotsellers - as they were when being released first time. TLG also seems to leave the policy of completely mixing sides which might have led to some dissatisfaction for customers. The sets still appeared incomplete. Something is always missing. This might be the explanation for such a quick rehash of the snowspeeder as an example. As a newbie, one does need it. As an army builder, one can get many of it without having to pay for too much excessive stuff. The new sets concentrate on what matters most i think. Personally, i will buy a lot of the next wave and will also go for multiples. The last waves saved me a lot of money because i could focus on very few interesting sets. Since EP V is so popular among fans, there is a good hope that we might see Cloud City - and be it as an exclusive - in the near future, i hope. May the force be with us! Quote
augustus Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I haven't found it anywhere, so if its been answered already, sorry for unnecessary question, but will there be an Ithorian? If so, in which set? The only one possible after the leaked photos disproving it in other sets, is Cantina, but I dont want to start unfounded rumors and I heard it has been disproved as well...Can anyobe please clarify? StoutFiles Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Even more !! at least 2500 pcs. Hopefully. It's hard to tell with TLG. R2-D2 - 1559 pieces - $199.99 X-wing - 2127pieces - $180.00 SSD - 3152pieces - $399.99 I just hope it's big, and there are a lot of good details on the outside. If everything interesting in inside of it I will be a little bummed. Quote

montgocloud Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 perhaps the regular st helmet is a place holder for the stylized helmet! But then wouldn't the new Snowtrooper helmet have a placeholder of the old Snowtrooper helmet? Quote
Artizan Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 that wouldn't work because the new helmet is actually two parts, a backpack and a helmet, whereas the older one is just one solid piece. Quote
LegoFjotten Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Wow a $350 UCS Sandcrawler, that might be a cool set, looking forward to hearing the details on this. Quote
hjmediastudios Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I'm pretty sure this means the Phantom fits into the Ghost, as when comparing the reference images of the Ghost with the set, it seems there's a significant gap between the rear engines, where the fighter slots in, on the set. It also might explain the design of the Phantom. Unfortunately, this also probably means the rear interior of the Ghost is just space to fit the Phantom's cockpit, and we won't get much of an interior like the 7965 Falcon, just two (hopefully spacious) cockpits. arc Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Sandcrawler officially confirmed. I thought a different site confirmed it not to be a UCS set, now we have conflicting reports. Quote
Phoib Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Sandcrawler officially confirmed. Now it has a release date of 1 October 2014. Quote

Faefrost Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 TLG also seems to leave the policy of completely mixing sides which might have led to some dissatisfaction for customers. Since EP V is so popular among fans, there is a good hope that we might see Cloud City - and be it as an exclusive - in the near future, i hope. May the force be with us! I think the big reason why we are getting the new Snowspeeder is to create a play synergy with the new AT-AT. While they could have just left the current Battle of Hoth Snowspeeder set out there, this way it lets them add the new spring missiles so the two sets can be shooting it out. Which would have been an awesome feature to have back when I was in my preteen years. They didn't add much in the way of opposing force in the Snowspeeder this time because the set is meant to be a low priced companion set to the high price one. It's a common and effective marketing scheme. "Don't just by this. By this plus the upgrade add on." You see a similar vibe over with the Ghost and the Phantom. The low cost set is meant as an add on or compliment to the larger one in addition to working as a stand alone. They did this same thing with the LotR and Hobbit sets. The High priced set (Helms Deep or Dol Goldur Battle) had a lower priced set to expend the scene or play (Uruk Hai Army and Dol Goldur Ambush respectively). Quote
