just2good Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 While the sets don't appeal to me, I adore the box design. That color... Quote
Big Pete Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I know I have been complaining a bit too much today, but what is up with the snow speeder? The guy at the london toy fair said that it looked more accurate to the actual thing, instead like most people have said it looks the exact same but with the missiles added to it. No I didn't, I said it looked a little bigger and utilised one of the new "stud blaster" weapons on the back so you could fire the harpoon, which i thought was a neat feature ... :P Quote

arc Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm liking the look of the new star destroyer, although I think the bridge is a bit too small. Quote
TomatoSoup Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 No CW-style faces, yeay! I wonder what species the character inside the bubble turret is supposed to be, looks like a new one looks like a Cathar! maybe a possibility of more SWTOR sets coming out to include this species? variations of them would be great. vriverajr3 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 He took great high quality close up pictures of everything except the bottom left corner of the ghost box which showed the figs :/ Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 YES!!!!! No more cartoony Clone Wars-style faces!! Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I do hope that there is a bit more of an interior for the ghost. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Off-topic:I don't want to rant about it but I can't stand Lego's paranoid secrecy when then toy fair event comes,I mean at the New York toy fair Lego allow people to take pictures but on the London and German toy fair they don't,why?? On-topic:The sets look decent even if I probably wont buy them. Quote
djmangunz Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Real pics of the Ghost and Phantom via Hothbricks! That site is good for something... http://www.hothbrick...mberg-toy-fair/ I wish we could get a better look at those figs in the Ghost especially that mysterious Jedi. djmangunz Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Here's hoping that the Ghost's cockpit is printed. Quote
namioik Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Here's hoping that the Ghost's cockpit is printed. The half sphere looking one, most likely will be printed The cockpit above it, most likely sticker in lieu of printed piece Quote
Gremer Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Lego Leaks Mexico have had to shut down their blog because of an email from LEGO. Still, it was good to see the sets while we could. Quote
Nobrux Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm liking the look of the new star destroyer, although I think the bridge is a bit too small. In my opinion, the new bridge is much more proportional to the rest of the ship. I believe TLG tried to put the bridge more in scale. An effort that worked, even though this new design has probably eliminated a classic space for minifigs playability and interaction. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) I doubt the Ghost will have much interior space (though the front cockpit looks like it can slide out), it's hollow in the midsection to fit in the Phantom (the wings of which look like they are supposed to slide in to the Ghost). The Ghost really looks great though, loving the McQuarrie influences on the design, his works were amazing. Interesting to see that one of the minifigures in the set is a lightsaber wielder, cool stuff indeed. The Snowspeeder, while looking slightly different (and an excellent use of the stud-blaster for the harpoon gun), looks way too similar to the old designs. I would've thought that it would have been redesigned from scratch by now. Especially the inaccurate cockpit. Jedi Hunter Frontier looks sweet, an original and swooshable ship, thumbs up from me! They should use a less obvious name. It is great to see the sets though. Maybe when we have better pics the Ghost will look more interesting. Quote
Cwetqo Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I counted studs on the length of the wing of old (6211) and new star destroyer. On old one its 70studs and on new one 62 studs. I did the same following wing at widest part and its 22 studs (x2) on old and 20 studs on new one. Those two missing stud are on supestructure, not on the wing itself, so it looks like complete supestructure is smaller (which is more in line with original ship from the movies). Too bad that its smaller, but it seems to be the case wtih all recent re-issues. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Is it just me or is that new astro-mech shorter than R2 ? Plus now, why does the Phantom remind me so much of a original BSG viper ? (oh, wait I know it was done by the same designer in the 70's) Very clever money making idea Lego, design two sets that can connect together......someone was thinking. Quote
deskp Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Very clever money making idea Lego, design two sets that can connect together......someone was thinking. The alternative would have been making 1 larger set with a part that disconnected.... Edited January 28, 2014 by deskp Quote

(or at least thats what I've heard). And they may just want the big reveal for fan pictures too be taken all at once. Quote
Obi-wan Kenobi Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I´m sad because of the new snowspeeder,it have inaccurate cockpit and cannons,I was really optimistic, but that upsets me. Quote
ChiefPie Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I wish the new wolf pack leg prints were like the phase one leg prints, which makes it much cooler. Quote
