That's what i am referring to - he has seen the upcoming sets in person... Maybe this can be clarified. :classic:

It's of course not as flat as a pyramid, there are side panels and the upper decks are connected to those. Still, those side panels fold down entirely, so if you open it up, the underside, side panels, and upper decks lie completely flat on the table. My first impression of the model was, that it was not as high and sitting much more on the ground than the previous one. Having said that, I own only the midi model, so I might be wrong. I liked it a lot more than the old System ISD, the overall shape looks better, more menacing. Still, being the one set I was looking forward for the most, I was a little disappointed. No figures on the bridge (I didn't figure out where the pilots are going to be seated) and perhaps just no big surprises. But that's just me and I am sure this is much better than the previous one and an amazing set.

I think the officers are getting the same cap that comes with the painter figure from the collectible series, which I think, does not look as decent as the cavalry kepi.

I think it was different to the painters cap.

Oh I forgot to mention about Rebel Pilot (advent calendar), it is new? different helmet and face print or it is the same from planet sets (X-Wing and Snowspeeder)?

The Advent calendar figures were all displayed in a show case, and I didn't take a too close look at it. I just remember there was Riekan (sp?) and Tatooine Luke, which was a surprise, I had my money on Hoth Luke. The pilot seemed to be a normal pilot, forgot what the helmet looked like.

There's nothing I've heard on any of the discussions to dim my enthusiasm for this wave. Many thanks to those that have shared what they've seen.

ISD, Cantina, B-Wing, AT-AT and Sandcrawler are musts and I'll wait and see just what's different about the Snowspeeder before going for that one.

I'm so glad I'm allowed a certain Lego budget through my business account for 'office decoration'!!

Well, I think my initial expectations of the cantina being a half bothered attempt by Lego seem to be confirmed. Lego is well aware of the strange obsession that the fans have with this set and they feel safe that it will be a nice cash cow. So they make some slight improvements and add a few fancy figures and charge a nice sum for it.

You mean like the Star Wars DVDs?

Let's face it... unless we got a £200 set with 12 or so aliens... something Ewok Village size... we wouldn't be happy. It's not the worst incarnation of the Cantina we could have got!... Maybe not the best... but not the worst.

And the rest of the wave is all good for me. I've never owned an ISD, AT-AT, B-Wing or Sandcrawler so it's all gravy!

If it's true about obi wan having a printed robe I can see him having the new hood piece that wyldstyle has only in brown.

The problem with that theory is that Wyldstyle's hood is moulded in such a way to leave space to print on her shock of colored hair. That would look pretty odd without printing. The classic hood piece would work just fine.

I mean this piece http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=15428pb01

It could even work for Darth Maul if it was completely black

Ah, I totally mistook what you meant. That piece would be awesome! I'd love to get it in a lot more colors.

Damn right whenever I picture obi wan in the landspeeder all I think of is how massive his hood is down, could be used for any Jedi with a small enough hairpiece, doesn't Owen Lars wear a hooded robe?

My bad his hood's up

Xero_Fett on Flickr did a paintjob to show what it'd look like on Maul. This would work very well for the new Obi-Wan..

THe 2014 sets showed up on the TRU website a week or so ago. The sets weren't available for purchase online but were listed as being available in store.

Which no one has seen as far as I know. I imagine all stores will have them by the 17th.
