Super Brick Collector Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Yoda Chronicles set in the OT. I saw Boga, Jawas, and their sandcrawler Awesome, thanks. Hopefully we'll see some of these made into sets soon. Quote
rollermonkey Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Technically there hasn't been any UCS sets for a long time as that label was discontinued long ago. I like my definition though: Does it have a large display sticker with detailed information? If so, it's a UCS. If not, it's a system play set. The Death Star, Sandcrawler, and Motorized AT-AT...not UCS sets. They are for play, not just for display. There's a LEGO made poster that says all three were considered UCS by TLG, even if the box didn't say it. Anywho. They need to make a new UCS-style MF. Hopefully the rumor is true, because I'd buy it. Quote
Robianco Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 That looks like the 7965 MF on the video... same single stud trans clear round 'light' at the front of each mandible. I hope we see Chewie with the remoulded Bowcaster in an OT set and that C-3PO is pretty much the ultimate version. The droids aren't figures I get particularly excited about but I think that's about as good as that figure will ever get so I hope it sees the light of day. The metallic dome on R2 from the Ewok Village set was a nice little upgrade for him although the amount of detail TLG are putting on their figures tells me there's more 'battle damage' to go on R2 yet. If the MF UCS rumours are true then I think it's a win all round. Yes... it would be ideal to put out something like a Slave 1 that hasn't had the UCS treatment (and when I say UCS we all know what it means even if none of them are technically considered UCS anymore) first but if not I think the 10179 Falcon has generated enough interest in the secondary or BL market to ensure that any new edition will fly off the shelves. Ideally it would be different. Those that have the 10179 get to keep it and it will hold some of it's after market value but we would have an updated version with some of the criticisms of the set addressed (interior anyone?!). The Sandcrawler itself isn't the most exciting vehicle but as a playlet it has big potential to really round off Tatooine as far as TLG are concerned. ROTJ Tatooine has been taken care of and we now have the Cantina, albeit a relatively small one. Getting the Lars Homestead, and I understand that still a relatively big IF, would pretty much tick all that Tatooine has to offer for TLG on the OT except for maybe a Tusken Raider attack set of none are included. I think we still need a Bantha. Whether we get a small section of Docking Bay 94 as a battle pack or an addition to the cantina we'll have to wait and see... but it's unlikely I think. I do actually hope we get black skeletons for Lars Homestead though... I'll BL those if not! ;) Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Got the new SAH catalog today, and the Droid Tri-Fighter is available for $29.99. I hadn't seen any pics of that one yet, so that was a nice surprise. Quote
Lobot Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 That looks like the 7965 MF on the video... same single stud trans clear round 'light' at the front of each mandible. Although it's not the best quality image, it's not 7965. The ship is far wider and narrower than the current version, and it looks remarkably like 10179 apart from an updated cockpit. If you look at the landing feet, they clearly have part 6222 (link) which are used in 10179. The feet on 7965 are rubbish in comparison, and don't look anything like those in the video. And yes, I do realise that I've spent far too long looking at UCS Falcons! Quote
Brickmamba Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Came across this pic, not sure if it is official, proportions look good but not a fan of the exposed studs http://www.flickr.co...02/12851561125/ Edited March 1, 2014 by Brickmamba Quote
Lance Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) That is definitely the new Sandcrawler. It looks like it relies on plates more that the original version... Edited March 1, 2014 by Lance Quote
Robianco Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 It certainly looks like new robe printing on Owen Lars and is that the first time we've had that hair in light bley? Is that taken from the new DK book I wonder? Quote

That looks like a scan of the new Visual Dictionary, it's very similar to the style of the old book. Perhaps it might include some images of the (new) UCS Slave 1 & Falcon.....ok I'm probably being a bit too optimistic now! Quote
Aethersprite Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Try this link, sorry the other appears broken. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Storm(starfighter) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Storm_(Miy'til_starfighter) I don't know why the link isn't working. Just search for storm or Miy'til in wookie search and it will come up. If you copy the link into the URL it should load properly, apparently hyperlinks don't work. Thanks! I'm glad there's at least some canonical basis to its design. Quote
Lobot Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 And here's a screen-grab from the video, it looks UCS to me, the feet are a total give-away!! I'm soooo excited now! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) And the set number too for the sand crawler so yep, that's it......hmm, looks a solid build.....better not show my son or some of his friends......there might be some broke parents at Christmas time ! Anio Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 And here's a screen-grab from the video, it looks UCS to me, the feet are a total give-away!! lulz. Excepted the "new" windscreen (a brick built windscreen would be odd with a video like that), it looks 10179ish to me. Quote
Robianco Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Looking at that better image it certainly does look 10179ish... The plate patterns along the inner length of the mandibles match too. Hopefully this is a good sign but it's just hope at this point. More fuel to the fire of that rumour at least. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 On that Falcon design, the headlight sections are 4 stud wide by 3 stud high.....which is larger than the famous UCS model.....interesting eh ? Quote
cookiemonster Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Hothbricks has the first picture of the Sandcrawler. http://www.hothbrick...premier-visuel/ Edited March 1, 2014 by cookiemonster Quote
montgocloud Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 I was looking to skip the Sandcrawler... But now I can't! This one surpasses the original in every single way, so it looks like I'll have to get this one too. My wallet would be crying, but LEGO has made me so broke in the past year that I had to sell my wallet for more cash. Also, just a random question, but what is with LEGO's fascination with Holocrons? Is it because they're an easy plot MacGuffin? Quote
Kaitan Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Well that's three jawas plus Owen Lars, but no sign of any droids... wonder what we'll get? Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Holly hell I mean... That's incredible! That's as if Lego...wanted to make us...happy? I need to go have a sit down to recover. Quote
LegoDad Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Is it just me or does it look like the inside is lit up? Kind of looks like it has LED in it. Could just be some funky lighting, but that's the feel I get from it. This is such an upgrade from the original, very glad I sold it to pay for this one. Quote
just2good Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 That looks real cool! The Jawas are adorable, too! Quote
montgocloud Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Well that's three jawas plus Owen Lars, but no sign of any droids... wonder what we'll get? It looks like they had no room to show the droids on the picture. Unfortunately, the table at the bottom with all of the set information has been mostly clipped off so, unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait until an official announcement to know which and how many minifigs will be included. BrickG Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Hmmm honestly not totally impressed with the sandcrawler. It's quite small and my brain demands roughly too scale models. Though if it was really to scale it would be like $1000 so I can't blame them. :P Quote
calculon Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Am I the only one thinking this is far to less for a 300+ $ set?? :( Quote
