TWP Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 ^ Off topic!! Not as funny as a statement like that on a LEGO forum, no! haha COME ON lighten up!! Don't take your LEGO interests so seriously! I think you've gone too far. I think the general consensus is that staff is not holy, but you can at least respect them. They sacrifice a lot of time keeping the forums clean and nice to read on volunteery basis. Saying to a Mod he is posting off-topic while you were doing all the time, is disrespectfull. About taking the hobby seriously, we all joke minory around sometimes (in-topic), which makes the topics fun too read. If a Mod says we are going to far with a joke (what generally does not happen), we respect that and stop. Keep spamming this topic with off-topic posts is irritating. If I wanted to hear what you would think as a great set, I can look at the "future sets" topic. I hope you will take this advice better from a fellow "normal" Eurobricker, then you did when Brickdoctor corrected you. Quote
Lobot Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 For anyone who wants to see where the original (new) UCS Falcon rumour originated from, it's here: http://www.bricklink...d.asp?ID=166002 And some members would do well to remember that all of the staff give their time voluntarily; and trying to be 'clever' with them is anything but. Well I do hope this is false. We really don't need to be seeing a re-release in the UCS line already. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Thanks for the link Lobot. I really hope the new Falcon isn't unrealistically large, whenever it is released. I also hope Leia gets her buns and minor print differences, since I really liked the 2011 incarnation of the figure. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 N8thanAshley, you need to learn how to be respectful more. Its not about lightening up or getting out more. Its about the fact you are coming off as an antagonising disrespectful little s**t of a keyboard warrior that I seriously doubt you actually 'have a pair' yourself to be like this to someone in the real world who would quite rightfully stand up to you and put you in your place one way or another. I know lego is aimed at children, but you're not even coming across as a child, but some spoilt little brat that doesn't understand how to appreciate common courtesy. On another note, @Legoman: They have already 'updated' the X-Wing so we are already seeing the potential start of updates (I doubt they'll ever actually re-release). In all honesty, I'm of mixed feelings about it, if it were to be true. As others have mentioned, it could potentially cost a bucketload, but if they were to reduce the piece count, I'm not sure I'd be able to enjoy it at anything less than the previous scale. And I can't see how they could make one at least the same size and detail while reducing the part count by 2000 bricks :( Quote
legolandia Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Because the set would be very expensive and still not big enough for fans. New models must not be a step backwards because we always expect more. Well, the set wouldn't necessarily be a step backwards. Considering the fact that there is demand for a larger than 'normal size' Falcon and also that the first UCSscale Falcon did not sell well due to its high price then a logicl step to take would be to make a Falcon of an inbetween size which would need less parts and keep the price lower. Although, I still believe that since new parts have been added to the inventory since the first Falcon and also the building methods have also evolved, then a UCS scale Falcon at a reasonable size is still possible. The price per piece ratio for the death star is just above 10cent per piece, for the SSD is 12.5cent, and likewise for the ewok village. So if you base your reasoning on that ratio then a 4000 piece count Falcon at $500 is still possible. As for the fans, there will always be those who'll love it and those who'll complain about it, no matter what Lego does. Quote
Robert_88 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 A 3000-4000 piece MF could be a very nice model and it probably wouldn't be a flop. But there is a previous version and it is a legend and as long as the price per piece ratio is somewhere between the 0,10-0,125 the new MF will be as big as the old version. I think there a more people willing to spend 600 $ for such a model than 400-500 $ for a smaller version. Why? Because they are hardcore fans. Quote

Regimus Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 First post after lurking for some time guys! From what I've seen, I feel I'm the only one totally let down by the 75050 B-wing. I think the wings look dreadful and it definitely doesn't follow the trend of other recent OT redesigns. The minifigs on the other hand are an absolute work of art, so when the set comes out hopefully people can make it look half decent. Quote
arc Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Welcome to EB regimus! And I don't think you are alone on the b-wing, I was sure I saw a few other members who where also disappointed in that set. I personally don't care for the b-wing, so it doesn't bother me, but it does seem like a step back from its predecessor. Quote
lowlead Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) ...I had serious doubts about this rumor until this screen grab from an ad:http://i55.servimg.c...44/vlcsna10.jpg That's clearly not a standard size LEGO set... Clearly! Looks like a new cockpit piece as well - trans clear with printing instead of brick-built. For my part, I would be very interested in a new, slightly smaller UCS style Falcon. There's no denying it would make a big splash if released alongside Ep VII. Perhaps with a minifig complement: Lando and Nien Nunb returning the Falcon to Han Solo after a few years of borrowing...and not before Lando finds a new deflector dish, of course. I always wanted to see that scene, instead Hayden Christiansen appeared as a ghost, then the credits rolled. Bummer. Edited March 26, 2014 by lowlead Quote
rollermonkey Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Well I do hope this is false. We really don't need to be seeing a re-release in the UCS line already. Seven years is 'already' to you? I'm 41, and seven years is still a long time to me. Quote

A smaller UCS falcon would have to be really well made and very accurate to justify its existence. This set looks to be pretty epic, but that's judging from a screen grab taken in less than flattering lighting at an awkward angle...I guess we'll have to wait and see! Quote
Darth Malgus Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Like I said in. The previous page, a MF shouldn't be the priority for lego at the moment. Several other iconic ships could use the UCS treatment such as an A-Wing, Tie fighter, AT-AT, Jedi starfighter (Ep 3), perhaps even a decent Speeder Bike? I'd at least wait until the new saga was in its second movie before pulling the MF out again. Quote

The motorized AT-AT was a UCS according to TLG promotional materials, and I will be extremely surprised if anything from the PT gets the UCS treatment at this stage. Quote

Gremer Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Is this legit??? It's real, but we don't know if it's the May 4th promotion. Quote
TWP Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 If that would be the may the 4th promotion, I would be dissatified. I hope for something better, as I do not collect TOR. But I guess my wallet will be happy Quote
strangely Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Darth Revan? That's an odd choice, but honestly all of the exclusive minifigures this year have been random. I mean a character from a video game that's ten years old, a protocal droid from a deleted scene and a rerelease of a retro minifigure. That line up is all over the place. Still I actually kind of want this minifigure. Unfortunately that really makes me want a set based on that game, perhaps a Lego rendition of the Ebon Hawk. Though that's not going to happen. I really wish I knew what the logic is for releasing Darth Revan, it's just sort of a bizarre choice. Quote

As a huge fan of the original KOTOR game, this is a great surprise! A must buy to be sure... That Sandcrawler is looking more and more like a first day purchase. Quote
