Though I've been away for a while I've been keeping tabs on the new Star Wars sets, and I'm glad to see an Episode IV/V renaissance in the Summer wave. Unfortunately my nearest UK Lego store is around 100 miles away, so I'll have to wait for retail, but the Cantina and AT-AT particularly caught my eye. Looking at some of the teasing reviews and mocs with the Cantina and its fan-pleasing minifigures I can't wait. I've also never had any iteration of an AT AT, despite getting every iteration of Echo Base and Snowspeeder, so that will be essential to any proper battle dioramas and the detailing does seem to me particularly movie-accurate.

As for the rumours surrounding the (likely) exclusive Naboo set to match the minifigure instruction page, I would be very inclined to believe it's a TF AAT, possibly without even an extra Flash Speeder depending on scale, though an update to both sets would be welcome.

Today i had the chance to have a look on the new waves's sets on the shelf. I could hardly suppress the urge to immediately buy the ones i seek (ISD, Mos Eisley Cantina). But due to TLG's pricing policy in Europe, i have to stay patient until the usual 20% off sales show up.

Two things about the ISD: Although i stick to my statement above, the ISD at least has the same price tag as in the US and therefore is "only" 36% more expensive here. The second thing is the printing on the back of the box. It is pretty blurry. Has anyone else noticed that? Maybe a misprint of one charge shipped?

The Ghost set from the new Rebels TV show looks kind of interesting. I really like the Kanan hair piece. I wish they would have included Sabine instead of the stormtrooper. We then could have the whole gang in just two sets, when you get the Phantom to go with the Ghost. What's one lone trooper to do against all that anyway? I don't even think I like the new stormtrooper's melty face anyway, he looks like a Salvador Dali reject.

Yeah, its a shame that Sabine was excluded from this initial wave. But that gives us something to look forward to, as she could be part of a set more suited to her character (can anyone else see stickers that depict spray paint graffiti?). Plus, we still have yet to see the Inquisitor.

Speaking of that, I'm curious as to how they plan to do the Inquisitor's unique lightsaber hilt. Its unlike anything we've seen before, and could potentially warrant a new mold. The again, I fear that any new lightsaber hilt could look too big in the hands of a minifig. Both his and Ezra's hilts bring this worry to me, but I feel like we may end up with just the same old hilt pieces we've always had.

Wow! Thats so much smaller! I mean, sure, I expected some size difference, but that is far more substantial than I thought! What a shame! I'll likely still get it eventually, but not as soon as i originally intended.

I know the older version is bigger but to me it looks a little more like a playlet rather than an accurate ISD because of the oversized bridge.

I think the figures look odd in that older bridge as the scaling looks completely off.

So as much as the newer version is smaller I actually prefer the proportions of everything as a whole set.

Just my twopenneth though... :)

I couldn't have said it better myself!!

Any photos of the new Stormtrooper? (Not the hideous Rebels one) I'm still unsettled about the new helmet, but maybe I could be turned to the dark side of the print  That wasn't necessary at all

Yeah I don't really care for the new helmet either. The 2012 one was fine for me. The new one I think is more accurate, but the 2012 one looks better.

Wow. That comparison really sells me on the new over the old. All the angles seem far more accurate on the new one, except of course the missing area between the top and bottom.

I've made a short video comparing 75055 and 6211. I hope it'll helps everyone who isn't sure if the set is worth buying or not, especially if you have the old version.

Sweet comparison! I hope we see more of these from you- I've just subscribed to your channel! :sweet:

No, that's worth more than two cents. The new one does look better for the exact reasons you just gave. So, it's just smaller.

One of the first things Yoda taught Luke was that "size matters not". I guess it's been Yoda-sized.

I can agree with you that the proportions of the new ISD are buy far the more movie accurate ones. At the moment it just feels so tiny because it stands where 6211 stood before, whichs boosts this feeling a little bit more. As I pointed out in my review the old one might be better for kids who actually play with this set instead of us AFOLs who just put them on the shelf. The play features are even more limited than they were in 6211. For myself I'm missing a little more detail in the rear room of the ISD. Why did Lego exclude Vaders chamber? This would be so much cooler than a control panel or a weapon rack. A little holding cell would also be better than just free space.

I think in a few days I don't mind that the new version is smaller because like my previous speakers said it just looks amazing ;-)

I see a new at-st in episodes 7 and 9, so I'm guessing either a new hoth set, or an endor one is coming soon!

I looks like it's just an old AT-ST

Taken from Hothbricks, looks like LEGO made a typo on 75049's box. I believe it should be Ralter and not Raltar.

Is his surname spelled out on the scripts or something? Because the credits don't list any surname. Since the EU isn't canon any more...
