Tariq j Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Personally I would of loved a 501st trooper battle pack. This could give us one of my favourite commanders, that been Commander Appo. Same, I've collected all the 501st clones and there were barley any in the 2013 line. Quote

Still I was surprised they lasted that long right ? Now I wonder if things weren't all set in concrete yet.....to do with weapons, etc., in the sets ? hachiroku Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I really like this wave. I was in teh dark agesin 2005, so I´m going to buy all of them xD But, the bad part is the goodbye to the planets series. I don´t see interesting the Recruiment stuff, too "cartoon". Quote
Tariq j Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Now I wonder if things weren't all set in concrete yet.....to do with weapons, etc., in the sets ? Possibly, the sets looked fine and complete, I managed to take a picture before they were taken away, if I'm allowed I'll post them on again. Quote
exxtrooper Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Despite all which has been said, I haven't been as pleased with a wave since as long as I can remember. For the simple fact that this wave has... Not a single CW series set! Quote
Gremer Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Despite all which has been said, I haven't been as pleased with a wave since as long as I can remember. For the simple fact that this wave has... Not a single CW series set! It actually has two. AV-7 Cannon and Coruscant Police Speeder. Quote
Darth Nader Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 What really makes me disappointed about this wave is that they didn't include any sets that will look good on display. In fact the only one that has reached my expectations is the Kashyyyk battle pack simply because lego gave us what we wanted. I think the Battle of Saleucami would have been great too if lego gave us more than one clone. Quote
Nom Carver Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 That death star BP is the only one I could be interested in, I dont think it was a bad idea to place 2 guards and 2 gunners because that way I only need to get one to have enough, its not like we have to buy multiple sets of the same one just because it says battle pack, this is going to be a cheap year for me . I would be interested on the selucami set or that horrible mini turbo tank if the phase two helmets had a new mold, the one of the current 501st doesnt really look to legoish, In my humble opinion I think these figs are going a little to far on detail. legolandia Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 But, the bad part is the goodbye to the planets series. I don´t see interesting the Recruiment stuff, too "cartoon". Fully agree. I am quite saddened by lego's decision to stop the planet sets. Shame. Quote
jasbury Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Can anyone with good eyesight tell me if the new Grievous is white? I certainly hope so. I actually hope he is tan again. It's more true to the movie that way. As long as they improve the printing from the CW version Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Fully agree. I am quite saddened by lego's decision to stop the planet sets. Shame. As an MOCer, considering that the 'Recruitment' sets have one minifig and a small model just like the planet sets did, I like this change — the slightly larger models are definitely going to be more useful than the planets and mini models, and we already have a good variety of colors of planet pieces. I hope this price is reasonable though, in England a planet set was the sane price as a Battle pack. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I hope this price is reasonable though, in England a planet set was the sane price as a Battle pack. But some of them also had named main or prominent supporting characters in them, which a BP wouldn't, and it looks like that continues with the Microfighters...granted, that's obviously not going to be a selling point for this first wave, since the only main character in them (Han) also comes in a slightly more expensive set with two other rarer 'figs (the A-wing), but I'm optimistic about seeing what kind of sets this line leads to. ablake90 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) I don't know if its been brought up but the R2 is listed as new so that's enough reason to buy anakins interceptor for me Edited August 16, 2013 by ablake90 Quote
Artizan Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 It is listed as new but the printing looks same to me.(not the one pictured with the set, but the individual images of figs) Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 It is listed as new but the printing looks same to me.(not the one pictured with the set, but the individual images of figs) It's probably a slight chage of printing to make him resemble the films. Quote
mordatre Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I think Lego knows what they are doing. I agree the Deathstar Battlepack should have included a navytrooper and stormie. But that would only be to please the afols (which are around 5% of Lego Product consumers) and make it easy for the armybuilders (which are less than 1% of the Lego consumers). Kids (those small humans that Lego is intended for) won´t have all them previous expensive sets in their sometimes small collection and therefore this BP will look really interesting to them (kids like figures with closed evil looking helmets). The Afol community have long screamed for some deathstar gunners and now they give us TWO in a cheap set and suddenly you all go NOOOOOOOO! (pun intended ). To get your navy troopers you´ll just have to buy a more expensive set (which of course is what Lego wants). I am overall satisfied with this wave and will look forward to get some gunners for my 10188 and a small platoon of Kashyyk troopers. As for our highly debated Royal Guards... those are some of my favourite Star Wars figures from my childhood so I won´t mind a Another handful of them. Quote
jmagaletta Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Not sure if this was mentioned. But is the rumored TCW set Courascant Gunship this? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_police_gunship Quote
naugem Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Not particularly impressed with the sets shown in the pics. I'll get a DS battle pack for the figures, and hopefully the sets not shown in the pics will be more interesting. The possibly-CW sets have potential. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Not sure if this was mentioned. But is the rumored TCW set Courascant Gunship this? http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_police_gunship That seems to be the consensus. Quote
wesker Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 It is listed as new but the printing looks same to me.(not the one pictured with the set, but the individual images of figs) They've probably made some minor alterations to the torso to match the newer astromech droids. While his current torso still holds up pretty well, you can see it isn't quite as detailed. Though I wouldn't mind seeing the new R2 also come with a silver head instead of the usual grey one. Quote
binaryeye Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 It is listed as new but the printing looks same to me.(not the one pictured with the set, but the individual images of figs) I believe it's because the dome will be pearl gray. Look at this photo from the new Ewok Village set: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5896315 Quote
wesker Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I believe it's because the dome will be pearl gray. Look at this photo from the new Ewok Village set: http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5896315 Thats the head used on the Clone Wars R2-D2. Hopefully its inclusion in the Ewok Village is just a production error. As much as I like the idea of R2 having a silver dome the printing on the Clone Wars version is a lot more basic and less detailed than the movie one. Quote
Brainslugged Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hopefully the new R2 means printing on the back (as well as more detail on the front like R5D4). And a few people have mentioned wanting a new Bespin sometime. I suddenly got an image in my head of a Bespin done in the stule of the current Death Star. How awesome would that be if it cost $400? Carbonite freezing chamber; room where threepio gets attacked; ugnaught workshop; dinner with Darth & Boba; Luke & Darth lightsaber duel; Han torture chamber etc etc. Quote
