Jakura Nuva Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Thank YOU all for the great feedback. Now, I more inclined to do stuff like this seeing how it was a success. It took me a while to get this one, and I cannot reveal where I got it from... or else this will never happen again. As promised, here are the high-res (original 1000x1000) pictures. Clicking on these will bring you to the large version in high-res (1000x1000). Son of Makuta - it's my friggin' dream come true!! Too bad I don't have enough money :'( Edited September 3, 2014 by Jakura Nuva Quote
Fire spray 31 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Now the wait for the official lego press release where we get to see all of the features. I am hoping they have a detailed sand green back with some beautiful engines. Quote
Fives Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Wow, she's gorgeous! Probably my favourite of the UCS sets to date! (yet it helps that the Slave 1 is my second favourite ship in Star Wars). I also love that they gave Boba arm printing! That feels like a nod to he AFOLs and other hardcore fans who've been pining for a fully decorated Fett since the Bespin set. Good job LEGO! The price is a bit steep, but unlike the Sandcrawler, this may be one set I just can't pass up. She's just too perfect. Edited September 3, 2014 by Fives Quote
irispen Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) i wonder if this can fit with my system scales star wars lego? can anyone estimate the number of stud of this thing? versus the 7965 MF? as far as i know, the slave 1 is just bit smaller than the MF. Rogue Angel Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 What a disappointment! The only reason I was excited for this set was for Zuckus and 4-LOM. Not a single new character - just some re-arming and legging of Boba. Wow, I was ready to shell out $200 for those figs, and now it is a no-brainer pass. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 yet it helps that the Slave 1 is my second favourite shit in Star Wars C'mon Fives, tell us how you really feel. ;-) Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 AWESOME a UCS in minifig scale......might have to save up for this if my son wants it. Though I'm not sure about Boba's weapon......using a non-standard SW gun ? Quote
Venkefedo Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 What a disappointment! The only reason I was excited for this set was for Zuckus and 4-LOM. Not a single new character - just some re-arming and legging of Boba. Wow, I was ready to shell out $200 for those figs, and now it is a no-brainer pass. Look on the bright side... maybe there's a chance they'll be released in a far less expensive set next summer? AWESOME a UCS in minifig scale......might have to save up for this if my son wants it. Though I'm not sure about Boba's weapon......using a non-standard SW gun ? I'm glad to see the Alien Conquest gun make its way into SW minifigure weaponry... it may not be the most successful rendition of Boba's rifle, but it's interesting. It had been getting a little boring with SW weapons lately; soooooo many small pistols! I wouldn't have minded if they'd kept throwing the DC-17 pistols into the mix occasionally, but even the Phase 2 Rex in the BARC Speeder w/ Sidecar set didn't get DC-17s--his pistols shouldn't have scopes! In the new Cantina set, Han & Greedo face off with the same gun... Greedo sporting a DC-17 would've better represented his scope-less blaster from the movie, and set them apart. I rather expect an eventual Zuckuss to sport a black AC gun with black binoculars for his rifle; it seems the perfect use for it! Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Is that a new windshield? Shame it isn't full-minifig scale, but I guess that would be enormous and cost-prohibitive. Quote
Fives Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 C'mon Fives, tell us how you really feel. ;-) Oops, thats hilarious Quote
Darth Nader Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) This is the first set where I actually gazed upon a set going "Woooooooaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!" Such a beauty she is. Forget the Cloud City Boba, just imagine how much the Boba Fett in this set will be worth in ten years from now. Edited September 3, 2014 by Darth Nader Quote
TheWolffe Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Holy moly. That is one nicely designed ship! It just looks so I wasn't going to pick this up originally but seeing the sleek design and figures, I mean dayum that Boba am I right?! I definitely will be picking this up! Forget the Cloud City Boba, just imagine how much the Boba Fett in this set will be worth in ten years from now. Arm printing and other printing are slowly making their way to become the norm. If the trend continues I don't think it'd be worth as much as cloud city Boba. But if this is just a one off thing, this would be a popular set for brick investors. Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 The UCS Slave I delivered on the hype. With the piece count, it feels like a $249.99 set. I hope I'm wrong and it's $199.99 though. Quote
Smitty500 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 The designer must have had a tough time trying to capture the sloping dish like shape of this ship, because he barely pulled it off, but i honestly couldn't think of a better way to do it. (without trying it for myself of course ) Is that a new windshield? Shame it isn't full-minifig scale, but I guess that would be enormous and cost-prohibitive. Looks like a new windshield to me. And I am pretty sure it is minifig scale, I dont know how much larger this thing needs to be! Quote

Brickmamba Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Boba with printed arms is great, would have been a lot better if they could fit another exclusive in, oh well no biggy, its all about the ship anyways Quote
Artanis I Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 C'mon Fives, tell us how you really feel. ;-) That was my best Internet LOL in a while. Quote
wesker Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Lego did a fantastic job with this set. Everything about it looks flawless. Really glad they finally got the wing mechanism correct with this version too. Quote
Schneeds Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Just as I was starting to think the Slave 1 rumors were merely wishful thinking... That new widescreen looks fantastic! Quote
Moon_Knight Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Looks like they went with the brown cape instead of the dark green one. I could be wrong though. Nevertheless, this set looks fantastic and is going to make my Christmas present a very difficult decision. Being a college student, I'm only able to choose one UCS set because they're so pricey. Looks like the Tumbler has dropped out and the Slave I is now in the run with the Ewok Village. Edited September 3, 2014 by Moon_Knight Quote
TeufelHund Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) I doubt I'll be picking this up as I have the previous system version which is good enough for me (I guess some interior pictures would be nice). The figure selection is OK - there is a specific scene in TESB where you can see a Bespin guard pushing carbonised Han into Slave I while a stormie and Boba stand guard, so the selection obviously was made to make re-creating that scene a possibility. At minifig scale, the cockpit would need to seat three, if I recall correctly. Quote

Ceroknight Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Wow now all that matters is the price Quote
rollermonkey Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Neither though i did get bossk, a little disappointed with the color scheme of the UCS, similar criticisms to the 2011 version applies, the colored bricks are too sharp for what is suppose to be a junkyard spaceship, may have to bricklink some sand green parts to fix that Um, more than half of the green parts ARE sand green already.
