legocaptainrexfan Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Well I love the sets and I didn't even know about Star wars when these sets came out so it is going to be an expensive year for me, I haven't even got round to buying this year's sets! Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I personally don't like the new Guns. It seems as though TLG thought, oh, people have adjusted to our new design guns, and now like them, so let's make them worse again! :P Does anyone know retailers of Clone Army Customs in the UK? :D Quote
Tariq j Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) The bigest dissapointments for me were General Greivous' wheel bike and the DS Battle pack, the wheelbike should have had a bogs and Cody in phrase II armour and the BP should have had different DS gunners and the royal guards should have been replaced, what's the point in them? The hint is in the name they're meant to be protecting the emperor not fighting. Speaking of this BP can it be combinded with the 2008 Death star? Edited August 26, 2013 by Tariq j Quote
Robert_88 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I hope the DS gunners will get different helmets! Quote
Darth Malgus Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I hope the DS gunners will get different helmets! They were place holders, i think the graphics had better looking DS Troopers. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Just noticed, but I think Bad Cop from The LEGO Movie uses the new stud-shooter.. -Sci Quote
Legoofmyleg Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Just noticed, but I think Bad Cop from The LEGO Movie uses the new stud-shooter.. -Sci It definitely looks like it, well spotted! That probably means that they are not going to be removed from the Star Wars sets and may even feature in other themes. Personally I am not overly keen on them, they just look a little too bulky and non-weapon like. I can see kids enjoying them for their playability, but imagine a lot of adults buying up SW long blasters on bricklink to equip their new armies. Edited August 27, 2013 by Legoofmyleg Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) The sets only sound and look soso to me other then the AT-AP and BPs it might just be one of those bad years for Star Wars sets. If the two clone wars sets look good I will get them hope we get a better summer wave. Edit sorry about the Quote and no reply. Edited August 27, 2013 by LEGOMAN132 Quote

kermit Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Are these new stud shooting guns only in the battlepacks or are they also in the regular larger sets as well? Quote
Alfadas Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Are these new stud shooting guns only in the battlepacks or are they also in the regular larger sets as well? I only saw it in the battle pack, not in the bigger sets, but maybe TLG changes it. Edited August 27, 2013 by jeroenaa Quote
kermit Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Maybe lego is just trying it out in the battle packs first to garner customers reactions. However, lego always does extensive prelimanary research on sets and new ideas before they attempt to market a product. So I can only assume that the new stud firing guns tested well. With that being said lego tests their stuff using kids as it is their main target audience. Therefore I dont think lego had us afols and older teens in mind when they decided to introduce this. Robert_88 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 It would be great if they include the old shooters as well! Quote
Artizan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 what is the big complain, we are getting new stuff and I bet people have already got enough blasters to arm their troops. Personally, I would like to get one of these guns, place a trans yellow stud and make it Kyle Katarn's blaster. Quote
Wat Tambor Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I think this new blasters are quite laughable and quite useless, like the flick missiles that appear in way too much sets. I hope LEGO keeps the old blasters as well, because showing your army or some troopers in a MOC with that "toys" won't look so impressive. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Lego has kept some old blasters for the microfighters sets. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I thought the new blasters looked like the ones from the Dino sets if they are the same as the movie sets. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I don't mind the bad guns, maybe find a use for them. I'm more upset about the lack of Boga. Are these prelim or the real deal? I would hate if Lego didn't make a new Boga, and a new cloud city, or a new death star (I didn't really like the 2008 one). Quote

If lego were to include a boga, they would most likely put the older one there to show that they would be including one. But I agree with you, I was really hoping for a boga and a commander cody. Brickadeer Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) All in all, I'm pleased with this wave. The Kashyykk battlepack would be great if TLG had changed the mold of the helmet. It doesn't occur to me that this is the case, though. Some people complain about the Death Star battlepack because they don't like the gunners. But I like the battlepack because of the two imperial gurads :) I like the wheelbike, and the droid gunship. I share the concerns about 75037, though; I think it should contain a second clone. Edited August 28, 2013 by Brickadeer Quote
Jimosaurus Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I like the wheelbike. It always seemed like an interesting concept. Quote
montgocloud Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Hate to jump on the bandwagon here but I have to agree that the new blasters are just awful. Before, when the sets were just colorful space toys, the huge guns seemed fitting. Now that the sets are all about accuracy, these huge guns just seem out of place. I'm optimistic that seeing them in person will change my mind. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) TLG have already replaced the blasters this year into useless ones and I really hope they haven't done the same for the spring shooters. Point being are they going to be good or useless. EDIT: Are we actually getting any CW sets this wave? Someone said we're getting an AV-7 canon and a police speeder but brickipedia says the CW line is ending this year and we haven't seen any pictures of it. Edited August 28, 2013 by Tariq j Quote
