Darth Nader Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hello everyone! I just got some new images reveling 2014 Ninjago, Star Wars, Chima, and Super Heroes The figure I have to show, is the new and official 2014 LEGO 75039 V-Wing Starfighter Pilot figure! Thats all for now ;) Thanks -David *snip* Doesn't really look too different from the older one, but wasn't really expecting lego to do a big job on this figure anyways. The joker minifig looks pretty cool. Quote
Legoman123 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I don't think I will be picking that set up anyway. But to be quite honest it doesn't look like I will be missing out on much. But I do love that new Joker minifigure. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) For those who want the picture without the tacky, unnecessary watermarks plastered all over the figures, here is the picture from the seller. This isn't my picture, and I don't take credit for it being my picture. This is from the same Bricklink seller who has the Batgirl and Batman figures. Edited October 1, 2013 by bekindsorewind Quote
Fives Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 The pilot is identical to the one from Palpatine's Shuttle from 2010 (the ROTS set). Meh. Quote

This is the seller 'votvik' that had the Batgirl 'fig that FBTB blogged about, then? I can't find any further information on his BL store. (Though if they were for sale, I'm sure they would've been bought by now.) Quote
Republican Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 (edited) Does anyone have any Ideas on the Clone Turbo Tank Micro fighter? I see a lot of potential in this small set if it includes a 501st ep3 clone trooper. Bear with my evidence, I have reason to believe that the clone will be 501st. 1) in the confidential pic, you can see what looks like Captain Rex. But it is not. He has the same phase 3 helmet, but the torso is a regular 501st trooper from the two previous sets this year of the clone wars 501st trooper. That suggests LEGO wants the clone to be blue, but not captain Rex (since there are no more CW sets this year). The only other option is a 501st trooper. 2) In the mini fig section of the catalog, it shows "NEW, Clone Trooper" but shows him in all white, no markings. This could just be temporary, but I am not sure. 3) Lastly, if you look at the retailer's picture of the catalog (before the AT-AP was revealed), you can see a placeholder general Gree in the turret. The torso of the figure is the New camo General Gree chest. The arms are dark green, but the, helmet has a 501st marking of the lines going down the face and spliting up at the top. It could be that Lego had the design of the 501st helmet ready (but in green) and that the Gree helmet was not yet made. I know, this is really thin. and most likely The clone from the turbo tank will just be a regular unpainted clone. But I still say there is a chance it could be a 501st trooper. What do you think? So whoever claims these are theirs and plasters their logo all over it , remember, it isn't theirs unless it says "votvik" ;) Quote
Only Sinner Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I think those are pretty good guesses. I also think the new figs will be nice, hopefully nice enough to make up for the mediocre set designs. Quote

All very good points. Also you could note that if we are indeed getting an Utapau Battlepack with 212 troopers, it would be logical to make the 501 counterpart. As we just got these in the last winter wave, lego might be taking this opportunity to quickly reuse them for the EPIII clones. But i still hope we get a generic one EPIII clone. I just took an other look at the picks and it says "Clone Trooper", if this was to be an 501 trooper, it would have said "501 trooper", i think. Edited October 1, 2013 by Cyberbricker Quote

It would make no sence to put a 501st trooper, it is obiously a place holder, no doubt it will be plain white, what concerns me is if they are going to use the same helmet mould, something on the current phase two helmet doesnt feel right. It's the shape. It's too tall, skinny and bulky. If you look at the old ep 3 clones the plastic went over the neck, making it hard to turn the head. In the new helmet they sacrificed appearance and shape for the ability to turn the head left and right. Quote

eric729 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Is anyone else as confused as I am as to how someone got a hold on some 2014 minifigs? Quote
Artanis I Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Is anyone else as confused as I am as to how someone got a hold on some 2014 minifigs? It happens. eg prototypes etc used for photos that go wandering. They usually appear on eBay. Quote

In the new helmet they sacrificed appearance and shape for the ability to turn the head left and right. That's correct! To me, it was the most important design decision Lego had to make for the years to come, and Lego didn't make it :( So sad. I have not bought yet a single phase II clone, and I don't think that I'll ever do. Quote

charlieboy Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 you're not going to build an army of Royal Guards. Actually that's exactly what I'll be doing! Quote

Rogue Angel Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Actually that's exactly what I'll be doing! I actually have a dozen already and will be happily increasing that number. Quote
JVM Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Now I almost want to build a Royal Guard army out of spite. Really looking forward to the Grievous set mostly myself. Small chance of picking up the Jedi Starfighter depending on the price tag. Will probably go for a battle pack or two. Quote

If they get to correct the shape, I'd buy a couple of those Kashyyyk Battlepacks and, more importantly, practically every EP III set that feartures phase II clones. But I think the odds that they changed the mold are approximately zero. The good thing is that I'll save money; the bad thing is that I'll never own decent phase II Lego clone troopers because Lego made no such decent troopers. Quote

The good thing is that I'll save money; the bad thing is that I'll never own decent phase II Lego clone troopers because Lego made no such decent troopers. While the mould itself does suck, a lot of it had to do with the deformed printing LEGO went with for the troopers we got. The regular troopers' mouth printing was way too high up, while Rex's mouth was teensy. These new Kashyyyk camo troopers look like they have much better printing that's more properly spaced, so they could make the best out of the crappy helmet. I think I'd have to see them in person before making a blanket judgement. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I'll get a few of those Kashyyyk battle packs they look good and those troopers don't come around all that often. Quote
