Piranha Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Here is another one, all those prelims are from Tamayk which is a German Toy site. http://www.tamayk.com/images/3/38509608.jpg Quote
Jarneh Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Yeah, it's pretty much settled. These prelims aren't as up-to-date as the retailers' catalog pics. Which means the cannon and Octoputurra designs aren't final, which is a relief. Quote
Lego Spy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) The AV-7 is actually a set I thought would work well for a while now (ever since I saw them in Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars). And whatever this (VVV) is, I think I have all of the components in my collection from separate sets... Here is another one, all those prelims are from Tamayk which is a German Toy site. On the picture of the box it says: "Aim! Fire! Win!" I wonder what that's all about. Could there potentially be a sort of "game" Lego has come up with? Or is that just some sort of catch phrase? jay123 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Is it me or did that say 2x clonetroopers cause that would be awesome Quote
ha876 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Is it me or did that say 2x clonetroopers cause that would be awesome I'm pretty sure its just one clone since we only see one on the box art. Also, if you zoom in closely, you see the difference between the x2 zoomed in and the words after the clone. Of course, I want to be wrong. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Don't worry, the final version doesn't use the half barrel. It looks much better. -Sci Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Mods are asleep, post prelims. Whether you said that in jest or not, the fact is that we have nothing against linking to confidential prelims. You just can't embed them, and we'll remove the links if (and only if) TLG specifically requests that they be removed. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 If those are the preliminaries I think they have a little bit of design tweaking to do, wasn't impressed with the AV7 cannon at all. Quote
JVM Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 The Cannon looks more like a BP to me. If it's really $50 it'll be a worse overprice than the TRU Battle of Hoth exclusive. I might pick up the smaller stuff and buy Chewbacca and Plo Koon separately. We'll see where the funds are. Quote
Obi-wan Kenobi Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 To me It doesn´t make so much sense the fact that an octupatra droid is in the Utapau battlepack,it might be in Mygeeto isn´t it? Quote
nrg Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 To me It doesn´t make so much sense the fact that an octupatra droid is in the Utapau battlepack,it might be in Mygeeto isn´t it? No , octuptarra droid was on Utapau and Tri droid was on Mygeeto. Quote
Darth Dino Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Hi for me, as OT fan and beind tolerant to the PT that wave does not have much for me. Too many clones in too many variations. That makes them hard to armybuild. The only PT set that i would get is the fighter of Anakin (i dont have it yet). But only on sale, it just contains the 20th R2 and the 5th movie Ani.... So most of the sets are TCW? Dino Quote
Robert_88 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I'm an OT fan as well so I will only buy the DS Battle Pack. This will be a cheap wave but I still need the X-Wing and Ewok Village... ;) Quote
Obi-wan Kenobi Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 No , octuptarra droid was on Utapau and Tri droid was on Mygeeto. Sorry,my fault. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Over-all thoughts are awesome. I love this particular lineup, it is great for army building! :) With the Utapau Pack, I wish we had seen 3 212th Troopers and 1 Airbourne, I would rather have my Ground Troops out-numbering the Airbourne units. :) Quote
CJBERRY Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I was talking to a friend recently about the prices of battle packs and how they are now £11.99 in the uk, rather than £9.99 We started discussing if we'd prefer them to be £11.99 as they are, or, be £9.99 (or £8.99 unlikely) but have 3 figures rather than 4. We both felt the planets were slightly over priced for what they gave, but think the new sets replacing the planets look like better value. But going forward with battle packs, I'd like to see lego try and keep the cost down even if it meant losing a figure, in order to keep them at a price that kids can afford I know this is 2014 set discussion, and this seems off topic (if it is too much please move it, sorry), but I guess what I am asking is, if they 2014 battle packs (or future ones 2015 etc) came with 3 figures, but kept the price down, would people mind? Could there potentially be a sort of "game" Lego has come up with? Or is that just some sort of catch phrase? Well it looks like the speeder has one of the new launchers built into the front and the STAP is on a stand with an upside-down 2x2 tile on it. So maybe you're supposed to aim the cannon at the STAP, fire it, knock it over, and... win...? Neat concept. It's fun for kids (probably) and can be easily ignored by those who DON'T want to aim, fire, or win. Quote
jay123 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 you're right it looks much more like the octu... Droid, everybody check out hothbricks.com Wonder why they would release earlier prelims maybe because they probably look alot like the images? Quote

jay123 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Ok im taking an educated guess that the official pictures will be out before the 10th of Nov or later that week Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Wonder why they would release earlier prelims maybe because they probably look alot like the images? Contrary to popular opinion, confidential prelims aren't "released" to the public. They're given to retailers so they have an idea of what's coming up. Nobody else is supposed to see the sets or know what they look like until finalized images come out with the sets. (Other than any sets unveiled early at events, of course.) Quote
tacozftw Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) it wouldnt matter for people who buy the packs en masse. For me it would. If battle packs' prices are raised, I will buy less of them, it's that simple.(As in, I'd buy ~$50 worth, but if they were cheaper and had a better unit composition, I'd buy ~$100 worth) A large factor (literally and figuratively) of battle packs is their overall composition. The original EP3 clone battle pack with 2 normal clones, 1 red clone, 1 yellow clone, a speeder, and a turret was beautiful. If that set was remade today, I would probably buy >$100 worth of them. But the 2013 EP2 clone troopers & droidekas set... The droidekas were cool but I'd MUCH rather it have included super battle droids or battle droids. An army would look awkward with a massive amount of droidekas relative to the other separatist droids. And then for the clone sergeant... those special, highly-ranked clones are supposed to oversee a large amount of normal clones. But with that battle pack, you have a 1:1 ratio. That's not good... And last but not least, the command center. I get it, you could probably combine them if you bought several of the sets, but it would still have been better to include a turret, or speeder or large droid IMO. I only have 1 of the 2013 clone trooper & droidekas battle packs, and I *MAY* buy another, but it's unlikely. My point is: battle packs' prices are very elastic (and their compositions GREATLY contribute to their elasticity as well) and Lego should approach them much more methodically than they have been in the recent years. As far as Kashyyyk and Utapau troopers go... I'll probably only be buying 2 and 3 (respectively) of those sets. In Kashyyyk's case, I don't care to build a Kashyyyk moc, so I'll just have a tiny group of troopers for my general collection. For Utapau, I wish the set included 2 normal, white troopers, and then 1 of each of the types that are actually going to be in the set. THAT'S a battle pack I'd buy en masse. Super Brick Collector Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Lego sure is keeping them pics from leaking out really good this year. Quote

jrad26 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 There should be a thread for the ever increasing prices of Lego sets, this might be an odd question, but to you guys in the states, do you call it legos in everyday speech? Quote
