Spyderlord Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Wow, lots of posts in one weekend. To close the previous debate from my side, I'd apologize to fellow forumers for steering the discussion off-topic and to few of you who went to somewhat uncalled extra mile in that debate, I'd just say we would have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. By no means I believe anyone here is a lesser person for his/her affinities but I do stand by other enunciated arguments (that means that no, my kid can like Nindroid MechDragon all he likes, there's no way I'm buying him that God-awful set /*slight sarcasm yet...*end> ) Back to the discussion, I feel your pain Klaus-Dieter, hopefully for the Summer Wave TLG would put creative talents back to SW line after The Lego Movie is over and out and send interns to play with some other theme for a change Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Thank you very much for the clearer pictures! As an system-scale-OT-only-collector I have to say that I'm absolutely disappointed with the winter wave! The DS Troopers set is completely <insert that tiresome argument> with that canon in with the color red is used too much. Only the Imp. Gunners are good - but maybe I buy them seperately on ebay. It's not nice to see that TLG did design a new torso for the Imp. Pilot but didn't give him a new rank (e. g. five blue signs etc.). Let's hope that we'll get some much better system scale OT sets in summer! Klaus-Dieter Well to be honest I think the summer wave is going to be purely OT sets. Quote
Robianco Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I don't think it will be entirely OT but I don't think we'll see anything ROTJ related. The last waves have pretty much taken care of that. The feelings of disappointment that some have felt at certain figures missing or other features not being quite right on a PT level for these I've managed to avoid... but I'm increasingly excited about the growing prospect of some great Cloud City or Mos Eisley related material in the summer wave that if it doesn't materialise I'll feel the same way about them. Quote
jrad26 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I think the summer wave will certainly have an OT set (s) (hopefully) but to be honest the last couple of years there have been heaps of OT sets then there have been PT sets (ignoring episode II sets), i reckon Lego wants to finish releasing the prequels on a good note before the focus comes on the new movies which apparently is more in line with the first 3 films. Somebody said that December is the time the summer catalog is released so hes hoping for a new Darth Vader/Commander Cody!! Quote
Darth Malgus Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I think the summer wave may be very Rebels heavy as it ties into the OT, kills 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak. Quote

I really do think that we are going to see at least one of those two sets in the summer. Quote
CJBERRY Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Either would be great, its been quite some time since the original cloud city set Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Either would be great, its been quite some time since the original cloud city set Yeah, plus I can't see anything that they can make that they haven't already covered, except for those two sets (cloud city and mos eisley). But I'm sure it will be very Rebels heavy, so this summer wave better hope it gives us some well awaited sets. Quote
HJR-Holland Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I think it's not unreal if wave II 2014 will be based on Ep III as well. I won't like it, but I reckon we can see another turbo tank coming. I just hope there'll be an UT-AT in the wave. I know LEGO made a prototype for it, next year would be the last chance for a long while to have it launched (I take it next waves will be all ep VII & SW Rebels)... Quote
frank_day Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Does anyone know the difference between Plo Koon in 75045 and the older version(7676 OR 8093)? Thx Quote

I doubt we'll get another Turbo Tank if the rumour about the new AT-AT is true. They're both too similar to be in the same wave. I don't think Rebels will have any effect on the movie sets either. The most it should replace are the Clone Wars sets with the movie saga continuing on as normal. Episode VII isn't coming out until December 2015 so the earliest we should expect to see sets is in the 2016 winter wave. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Discussion of what you think you'll see or what you want to see in the summer wave doesn't belong here; it's not discussion of rumored 2014 sets. It belongs in Future Star Wars Sets. Quote

Nom Carver Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Which raises a question: What exactly does "Rumors" mean in the title of this thread? Darth Dino Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Which raises a question: What exactly does "Rumors" mean in the title of this thread? Does it mean discussing legitimate rumors and not starting them? Hi i think we all are happy to talk about rumors. Because we hope this will come true. The more a rumor is based on validated information or has been provided by a validated source, the more it will come true. We can not track other forums how a rumor started exactly but we could keep it down here somewhat. We already have a "wishlist" topic. I like it that we are trying to keep both different things separated. I go here to read something new and i am not bored or unhappy if there is nothing new. Sometimes there are NO news, we just had to wait. I dont want to read "news" that came up in someones mind ;) Dino Quote
The Executive Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 I don't really mind the micro fighters. I know they look ridiculous but at least they're cheap and you get a new clone trooper and a new Han Solo. As for the rumors of a new AT AT I'm all up for that. If they manage to make a new one I really hope it's UCS size because all the others were too small. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Does anybody here know how many UCS's we usually get a year? Like more than 2 more than 3? I ask because this year we got the Ewok Village and X-Wing, and last year we got the B-Wing and R2-D2. So maybe next year we could get both the AT-AT and Cloud city? I hope Lego is not reducing the amount of large scale sets we'll be getting. Also on the note of the Coruscant police gunship, I guess the minifigs included were sufficient, because they were all included in a scene in the show, and I'll just have to live with no new Ventress, she was good while she lasted. I would love an AT-AT in UCS size (around 400 mark), but according to somewhat substantiated rumor from brickset forum, it will be a system scale *sigh*. I really hope we'll end up getting a nice UCS of AT-AT eventually (2015?), because as much as I love cavegod's one, it's a little too expensive. As far as UCS goes, strongest rumors suggest Sandcrawler and Slave I (in May and September respectively). For AT-AT see above Speaking of Ventress, I get a feeling we haven't seen the last of Clone Wars just yet, we may get her in the second wave of 2014 hopefully... HJR-Holland Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Errr... 10 years ago LEGO sold an ISD at € 330, and it sold out. 5 years later they sold a Mil; Falcon at € 550, and it sold out. I'm sure a € 750 AT-AT in 2014 would sell too :-) Quote

I'm sure a € 750 AT-AT in 2014 would sell too :-) Euuh, not really, it wouldn't. A few to unconditionals and wealthy AFOLs, yes, but never to a larger audience. You can not market a set like that. MF was one of a kind, and more like a demonstration of power after a rough patch TLG hit in 2004. And it didn't sell all that quickly. The fact that now it gained a masterpiece status and is coveted from Alaska to New Zealand is hardly relevant for future sales. I think 400 mark is about what we'll be seeing as a top gun in Lego line. That is unless they decide to make something as far-reaching as Death Star, perhaps a huge Cloud City would push through price-wise, but I don't believe we'll ever be seeing a Lego set pushing 500 mark again.
