Throlar gouges out a small furrow between the two graves, then inserts the torso of the collapsed statue and uses the pointed end of the pick to cave a crude epitaph,

They died like idiots, killed in self defense,

They started it, yet I still feel horrible,

They most likely had families, which makes me feel worse,

They had no chance, which is worst of all.

You finish the burial as the sun breaks through the clouds, and the village begins to awake.

Seeing Throlar stomp in looking tired, Nerwen nods once.

We are all here. Good. Let us make an arrangement that if we get separated, wherever we spend the night we return and meet here in the morning.

As for today, we seem to have agreed on some tasks.

Lawrence wants to visit Lady Calaryl, which will require my being there also to make introductions and smooth over cultural differences and prevent him being offensive, intentionally or otherwise.

Arthur suggests Lawence visiting the blacksmith.

I wish to see if it is possible to speak to the Pongcanis, though I take your warnings about them. In response I would say the same things have been said of Orcs, Men, Naga and countless other races through time. I agree that we ought all go together on that errand.

Are there any other tasks you would like to do today?

In regard to the Mopag, Arthur. They desire control of the town and the road to Mopag. Their Warlord seems a prickly sort who operates on a 'if you're not totally with us your are against us' sort of thinking. Perhaps I did not make the best impression and others might fare better.

Once everyone has spoken we will head out for the day.

"My own opinion is that you will not get any satisfaction out of speaking to the pogs, there have been places where the pogs are accepted, indeed, in one such place a few were hired as bank guards, but that group was all killed by bank robbers, but most are horrible, wild, murderous, bloodthirsty savages, who leave no trace but ashes and well gnawed bones."

"Of course. I've little interest in visiting the Mopag leader, and I daresay I'm not at all inclined to offer the Dread Pirate Indiacca the dignity of my presence on a diplomatic envoy. But I still want to see Shawe--I'm inclined to trust him, but I want to meet him in person to be sure."

Ellaria thought Nerwen was being awfully indecisive for a party leader, but then again, maybe her long life had taught her that people tend to respond better when you gave them options. She still felt the party shouldn't split up like that in such a hostile environment, but apparently her opinion mattered little to the elf.

"I already said I am willing to go where you point me, so apparently it's back to the Marketplace for us. Come, Ahvialyn and Misters Vandangant and Wineghlim, let's go chat with the merchants some more."

Taking matters into her own hand, since their party leader refused to do so, Ellaria walked out of the Inn and headed to the Marketplace, again only hoping that the others would follow her.

Boomingham smiles slightly at Shawe and sweeps his hand behind him, indicating the others. "Sir Issac Shawe, these are my fellow heroes, Nerwen and Arthur the Mage. They have a question or two for you. It seems they're not quite on board with trusting you and your entrepreneurial spirit. I told them that you seemed trust-worthy enough, but to each their own, right?" Boomingham shrugs. "Mind if I go talk to the troops while my fellow heroes have a word or two with you?"

"You underestimate the Mopag, Master Regulus. They could have overpowered all of us, except that the elves' keep is too secure, we are too well-hidden, and the Pogs are too good at sneaking around; and Warlord Kaherdin wants to go in with arrows raining in a show of force to win the confidence of the citizens. They have the manpower; they just haven't gotten the opportunity, so instead right now they're all spread out in patrols as they try to find out where the Pogs are coming from.

"As for the elves, they have never tried to defend this city, they won't grant us an audience, so we don't believe they care enough to fight alongside us. Assuming I could get my men to trust them, of course."

Nerwen spoke gently

How long have you been in the town Sir Shawe? When you say the elves have never tried to defend the place is it perhaps because others here did not want them to move about the town armed and they withdrew to avoid unnecessary conflict with townsmen?

As for seeing them, I spoke to them yesterday and I am taking Lord Boomingham to see them after we have spoken to you. If you are willing, we would be happy to have you along and you could speak to them also.
