Sandy Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Ellaria ascessed the situation. "Alexander, you should take on the Spearman, since you are already a ranged fighter." She then attacked the Swordsman from the front row for she was lucky enough to perhaps avoid the special, and asked Sir Abarlomi to take on the Unarmed Pongcanis from the front row. Quote
Zepher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) "I don't know if we choose to act in society so much that we have. Where else would we go?" Boomingham snorts. "Also, if you both don't mind, I always feel that this is likely to give my tongue a little courage and strength, and we've been wagging ours for some time now." Boomingham fishes into his satchel and pulls out a mead, that he begins to gulp down. "So you're just talking about folks with influence then, Nerwen. Sure, I believe in those well enough. Speaking of unfairness that grinds people down, I've got to have a few more words with Guts about this Pseudo from Strivvi. You may do well to look into him as well, Nerwen." Barty nestles down into Nerwen's hand. "I haven't lost my ability to be surprised. If Lawrence took even a little interest in me, he'd know that angels can see the future more than you mere mortals, but less than your seers. We don't get visions. Just little flavors." The angel wags his head. "Change comes. It just comes slowly. Can you tell ants apart? I look at you from the God's view - Ennoc has trouble telling the men apart, but they all build the temples together. And he won't fall, by the way. Ennoc is eternal and all powerful. You're just an elf." Barty gives a efficient nod. Edited November 5, 2013 by Zepher Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Just as society is not one single thing, there are many different societies, so there are many outside, or members only of very small societies. I have heard some tell of pseudos, but not much. But I would be surprised if Guts would tell you much. Like you he disdains the idea of gods. Nerwen bowed gracefully to Barty, her palm staying perfectly level, not disturbing the diminutative figure. I imagine that to know the names of ants I would need to become one myself. Or send a messenger to report back. But then if I did know their names, their hopes and dreams and the uses to which they could be put I would care for them. I would be made more by including them in my thoughts and plans and correspondingly lessened when they perished. I am glad to see you have unshakable trust in your master though. It should not be any other way for you. Quote
Zepher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 "Well, there are a lot of ants," says Barty cagily. Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Do you mean that Ennoc knows the names of lots of ants or that he know the names of some and there are many that he does not know? Quote
Zepher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 "There's a lot of you. All you mortals, bustling around and doing stuff. We hardly have the time to get to know you all, and after knowing just a few of you I'm sure you can understand if we're entirely turned off by the idea of getting to know more." The pouty angel puffs some shimmering golden air out of his irritated mouth. "But such is our lot in life." Quote

Chromeknight Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) Oh poor you. Nerwen says not entirely seriously. So you are saying that your knowledge, intimate knowledge of your charge does not engender love for him? A desire to see him thrive, prosper, fulfill his purpose and find justice under the aegis of Ennoc? That is sad indeed then. And reflects poorly upon your master. Seeing the mixed group around the corner, Nerwen said. Now Lawerence, we see your words translated to actions. Are these mere beasts and the men who consort with them condemned out of hand for showing very poor judgement or is there a hesitation to allow for a more nuanced judgement on all over there? Nerwen sweeps the white cloak off her shoulders and tucks it in her satchel. She then puts the lens on, gently pushing it into place and getting used it. Zepher Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) "Lawrence inspires as much in me as I in him," grunts the Angel before puffing back into obscurity, apparently done with mortals for the time being. Boomingham blinks a few times and licks his fat lips. "Well, didn't really see this coming, did we? Perhaps we do have to parlay." Boomingham turns to his new companions. "Knight, elves. I like to know what sort of folks I'm fighting beside. Kadarphazân, we met briefly a day ago, but you elves remain a mystery. So I will ask you this - will you be willing to follow Nerwen and I's lead?" Boomingham lets the question hover in the air for a second, turning back to his own commander. "I say we go and talk to them. We don't know who the men are. If they're civilians... we must take into account their opinions. Though I can't see them siding with those killers, and can't see myself offering much pity if they do... best to hear them out. Weapons sheathed but at our side, just the two of us? Arthur can stay here with the elves and knight - come to our aid should we need them." Edited November 5, 2013 by Zepher Quote

Duvors Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 "Look, if you help us defeat the proncanae then you will be helping this town save it's self, and if you're worried, then you might find it comforting to know that there will be an army of elves and men with you, I came to ask you because I think we need all the help we can get, will you help this town? Will you help us? If you don't I wont blame you, nor will anyone, but chose now, because this is the only time I'll ask, we need you as much as we need everyone that will help us." Quote

Chromeknight Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Nerwen looked around. Seemingly registering for the first time that the dwarf had not followed them from the inn. She shrugged. Wherever he was, she was sure that he was being bold in the use of diplomacy skill. She nodded briskly to Lawerence. So be it. Let us go speak to them. Softly. With big sticks. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 "Yes, no, maybe." "Well, that's not much help." She nodded briskly to Lawerence. So be it. Let us go speak to them. Softly. With big sticks. You approach the Pogs. The crossbowman is the first to spot you. "Grrraooowww gruhhh!" At his warning, you see the humans scatter, accompanied by one of the swordsmen, who evidently wanted to make sure they got away and didn't say anything. "Muaahh...what do we have here?" Quote
