Flipz Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 "Hmm...say...you wouldn't happen to be the farmer who aided several of my fellow Heroes all that time ago, would you? A Cleric, a Barbarian, a Knight, two Mages, and a Rogue, passed this way looking for the Lion Knights?" Quote

Boomingham turns to the soldier and offers his hand. "Lord Lawrence Boomingham, King of the Lost Kingdom, Slayer of the Bluehood and Steerpike. And you are?" Quote

Arthur bows with a flourish, sweeping his hat from his head in a grand gesture. "A bagatelle, Lord Boomingham." "Forgive me, sir," Arthur says to Arthur diplomatically, "for not introducing myself properly. My name is Arthur--Arthur Regulus, Hero of Heroica, at your service. Now, given that you, too, seem to be in pursuit of the vile Pongcanis monsters, perhaps you could enlighten us as to why they were inside the city rather than outside of it?" Chromeknight Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 After Commander Pinnock leaves pursuing the Pongcanae, Nerwen nodded at the remaining Mopag Hoplites. We are indeed from heroica. I am Lady Calmcacil. And you are? We saw a squad of Pongcanis attack a merchant. Unfortunately we were not close enough to intervene and save his life. They ran off to the east no very long ago, your Commander is not to far behind them. Our task here is to restore order to the town. How stands it? What forces are there and what are the issues that require resolution? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 QM Note: Sorry, no specific quotes and replies to each hero; I'm still without normal Internet service and MultiQuote is a pain on mobile. "Sergeant Arthur Saunterton, 212th Battalion of the Grand Army of the Mopag Confederation, at your service. "I did in fact meet a team of new heroes just starting out their adventuring careers. A party led by one Master Tomas came to Mopag and met me in the fields. "The Pongcanae run unopposed through R'kilf -- inside the village, outside of it, it doesn't matter. But they seem to prefer to avoid engaging either the elves or us; I suppose that in this case what little the merchant was carrying wasn't worth the fight... "They say that there's a leader of the Pongcanae, an imposing beast of a humanoid, who subdued all the Pongcanis tribes in this area and organized them into this efficient raiding machine." Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Nerwen leaned closer, questioning the sergeant in a low voice. Thank you Sergeant. What is the strength of your battalion and how many battalions of the confederation grand armee are operating here? What is the approximate strength of the Elven forces? Are there any other armed forces operating in the vicinity? Quote

"If you get any more information on this character, or your troops decide to engage them, let me know--I still owe those bastards for what they did to us in Eubric last Grogmas." "Who's your friend, by the way?" Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 "I am not at liberty to discuss our numbers. The elves are similarly skillful at disguising their true numbers. Other than the Pongcanae, we've had some apparently drunken groups of villagers try to attack us, and the Lion Knights and the Hinckwells made their way near the village while checking out part of the Eubric Plains, and they were very heavily armed, but appeared to have no interest in the village." Quote
Chromeknight Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Nerwen replied lightly In concealing your numbers, your instincts do you credit. But we are here to broker truces between the various parties where possible. If you are not able to speak freely for the Mopag I must ask you to direct us to who can. Unless, of course it is Commander Pinnock whom we met earlier and will likely be some time yet running off the Pogs. Quote

"I'm guessing fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of their battle stations." "Sergeant Saunterton, who are the most important people to know about in R'kliff right now?" Arthur asks diplomatically. Edited July 24, 2013 by Flipz Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 "We don't have to keep the citizens in line. The elves seem to have made controlling the city their mission, and they keep the citizens under control. The people rarely leave their buildings for fear of the Pongcanae anyways. "Other than Warlord Kaherdin and the mysterious leader of the Pongcanae, I myself don't know of many individuals." Quote
Sandy Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Ellaria takes out her notebook once again, and makes a list of all the groups the sergeant mentions. "So there's the Mopags, the Pongcanae, the Brobric Elves, the Lion Knights and the Hinckwells, as well as drunken citizens, all aiming to take control of this area. Anything to add to that, good sergeant?" Quote

Chromeknight Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Nerwen spoke in a low voice to the dwarvish ambassador. Yes. I know his correct name. I phrased it as I did because anybody who appends awesome to their name no doubt wants it used as flagrantly and often as possible. You will find as we go I will say or do things that you do not understand or think are incorrect. I will almost always have a reason for such. You would be better served asking quietly what I intend rather than loudly attempting to correct me. Nerwen smiles gently to demonstrate her lack of rancor in her words. Quote

Chromeknight Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) Perhaps we had best wait for Commander Pinnock to return. We should not simply barge in on the Warlord. Whilst we wait, could you show our dwarvish ambassador here some useful moves with his chain mace? Train him and improve his level of fighting prowess? I am sure we can compensate you appropriately.
