One word: Medusa.

The volume of the Medusa tail is a lot less than a LEGO horse minus the head. I recommended a satyr since that would provide goat hindlegs for minifigs.

I think centaurs could come in a regular set but right now there are no themes that it would work in. Perhaps a CUUSOO project could change that.

Lego really is in need of a wearable drum piece, and what better way to introduce one other than through a period Redcoat drummer?

redcoats.jpg

As it happens, the 2009 Pirates humble Redcoat's uniform appears somewhat of lower-calibre compared to that of the newish French Revolutionary from Series 10. This is me being incredibly fanciful, but it'd be great to see an updated, generic Redcoat torso + the chance to create the iconic Mitre Cap (the distinctive hat worn in the above picture). That and some drums and drumsticks.

Oh, heck. Let's see...

1) An AFOL: generic-looking guy with a Lego-logo shirt, a trophy accessory that's painted like a minifig, and a box/tile that looks like a set.

2) Uncle Sam: top hat, tail, and beard to look like the American icon.

3) Headless horseman: Cape, sword, head painted like a pumpkin, and a "one ring" painted black to secure the cape.

4) Lion suit guy.

5) "Dorothy" from Oz: child with a blue and white checkered dress, basket, and small dog.

6) Mailman: with a Santa sack, only with the word "mail" painted on it.

7) Lawyer: with briefcase and lawbook

8) Elvis: with the mechanic's hair, a guitar, and cape.

9) Film director: beret, megaphone, and film reel.

10) The Pope: Bible and a 2x2 slope piece for the skirt. It'll never happen, but it'd be our first male figure with the slope for legs.

11) Cub scout: short leg boy figure with knapsack, kerchief, and map.

12) Bigfoot: a recolored Yeti.

13) Zombie girl: because we need more zombies.

14) Cupid: short legs; bow & arrow; new wing pieces.

15) Girl pirate: With cutlass.

16) Journalist: with camera and notepad.

I don't have enough ideas for a full set, but I'll share what I have so far.

- Modern Soldier - simple Army-type guy. I'd love to see him in the new olive-green color with a rifle, a backpack, and either a coil of rope, a radio, or a shovel.

- Boy Scout - olive-green legs, a khaki shirt with a sash, and a red neckerchief. Maybe a squirrel too to establish an 'outdoors' feel.

- Firefighter - a more detailed version of what we usuallly get. He could come with an axe, his mask, his tank, and maybe a kitten?

For all you others who'd like a Lego centaur: I noticed there's a new Centaur project in Cuusoo, just a few days old. It proposes the use of the actual horse mold with a differently designed neck piece that can be attached to the minifig torso (similar to the snake tail piece and such). Overlooking the roughness of the concept pictures, it looks better than I thought it would - even if I still think that the horse body should preferably be a bit smaller than the actual Lego horse, for the human upper torso not to appear strangely timid.

Cuusoo may not be the way to make this happen (almost certainly isn't) and the proposed model may not be the ideal design, but I supported because I heartily approve the general idea.

I am more than a bit disappointed by the merging of the two topics, since they address totally different goals.

One is about what people WANT to see, mine was about what people THINK MORE LIKELY to be in series 12.

In fact, most of my guesses aren't characters I would like to see at all.

I apologies for the merge of the topics as I do not able to relate the thought process of the topics behind both of the intent and since both of the topics' intent is pretty similar, I made the judgement call as a mod. If you really want to re-consolidate your discussions into two distinct directions, please PM me for further discussion. Meanwhile, I hope you will also respect my initial decision on this matter and this is not a 'done' deal, so you can definitely appeal it. Thanks.

i already posted on the other thread (slightly more realistic guesses), but here are some wanted figures:

1. Frontier explorer/trapper. beaver/fur cap and musket. Or sextant and new compass piece. or new animal piece. there's a lot you could do.

2. wildlife photographer. outdoorsy clothing with camera and new animal. While I think a deer would be well-received, probably too big.

3. new astronaut. this is a common guess, but i'd like to see an update of a realistic astronaut. and frankly, make him 60s Russian (orange suits, big chrome helmet)

4. snake charmer. turban and flute (printed rod piece?) with new snake sitting up in basket or barrel piece

5. Mongolian. Everyone seems to want this.

6. I still want an old-school turn of last century style politician with a printed "Soap" box to stand on.

7. Satyr (as above. Making this would be totally doable and fit the mythical theme well.

8. Angel with newer Chima wings and new attachment piece. Maybe using the robot stud bracket. Angels have been done before in xmas themed merchandise and they cross religious traditions.

9. Buddhist monk. This just has to get made eventually. Maybe with bald piece and glasses and walking stick. Or a lotus flower :)

10. I want a real Viking. I know this won't happen, but I want one. Realistic helmet and not the Wagnerian fantasy style from the theme.

11. I'd say Bigfoot like the guy above, but we just now have the Abom.Snmn, and we had the gorilla suit, so i'm not sure how it'd be different. It also takes something away from these characters (like the cyclops and minotaur) when they're normal-sized figures.

12. Fly fisherman with pole, new fish, net?, and new hat with ear flaps.

13. dart player with syringe sized dart and printed round tile board

14. Arabian Bedouin

15. Zulu warrior with new shield

16. Admiral Nelson-style captain (

i could keep going but for now it's making me a bit sad at how unrealistic most of my list are.

If Lego made a satyr, which I'm personally all for, I doubt they would make new leg molds. It just seems unnecessary. They would just print fur and hoofs onto normal leg piece, like the minotaur in S6.

My wants are:

Roman general

Roman archer(repack of the roman soldier, with new face, Quiver and bow/arrow piece)

Red coat soldier(with Backpack and musket)

Pilgrim(male or female)

Union soldier

As you can see, I'm the historical kind of guy when it comes to CMFs

As a classic pirates fan, it would be cool to see a collectible minifigure interpretation of the bluecoat governor, the redcoat admiral. Not out of the realm of possibility since we got the pirate captain.

Ok let's see (forgive me for any repeats)

1)A violinist or conductor

2) A bank teller-a cool visor hat and cash or credit card

3) Fast food worker- teen with a bag

4)Hurling player, or more realistically a rugby player

5)Russian national or Canadian mountee (spelling is suspect on this I know)

6)Beatles type musician

7)Barber with clippers

8) janitor with mop

9) Plato/ Socrates

These are my best for now!

I'd like to see:

1) Sasquatch/Bigfoot

2) Ice Fisherman (Could maybe use Bofur's hat from the Hobbit)

3) Shepherd with hook (Could be female and be "Little Bo Peep" with lamb)

4) Golfer

5) Teppanyaki Chef

6) Entomologist with butterfly net and magnifying glass

7) Gardner with hand shovel

8) Casino Card dealer with visor

I may be the only one, but seeing that we just got our second baseball team (first the 'Clutchers' in Series 3, now the 'Stackers' I'm Series 10), I'd love to see a new hockey player, of an opposing team. Even better if its a goalie. And best of all if they threw in a traditional player's stick to army build into a full team. That'd be perfect.

I agree with the fur-trader idea above, hopefully with a coonskin cap. I'm also very welcome to any additional Greek, Roman, or Mythological figs as well-- these have been very well done and there's so much potential there.

The shepherd is also a must, with the crooked staff and traditional headgear.

I think the whole rock band concept can still be expanded upon-- how about a kooky folk singer type with an acoustic guitar?

Doubt we'd get it, but a gray-coat Johnny Reb type figure would be great to go with the Union/Cavalry soldiers in the Lone Ranger sets.

Still want a golfer as well.

My focus is quite narrow, so excuse the specificity, but there are a few historic/fantasy CMFs I'd love to see.

Sorceress

Female Elf

Medieval Bandit/Thief

Squire (kid with sword and shield, preferably with a new faction)

Nobleman/lady

Young princess (I don't think we've ever seen a princess that is shorter than a king)

King Richard the Lionheart

King Henry VIII (with big belly like Bombur)

Good/Heroic Dwarf

Executioner (this one is probably unlikely)

This is surely not a series 12 list, but I'd be happy if at least 1 of these appeared in each forthcoming series. I do think TLG has done a great job of mixing it up and including creative options like the Highlander, Warrior Woman and Barbarian.
