I couldn't stand how the nose looked on this set. Following mattewtyson lxf I think I managed a better compromise look. It's much better than the blunt nose the set original came with. I changed the top of it a bit but overall it was his design. The nose is 1 stud longer.

Looks great!

I agree with the rest, a side by side comparison or picture of the nose attached to the real model would be nice!

Thanks for fixing this. The stock one is rather unsightly.

Here are the pics you all have been asking. I think it looks much better but that is my opinion.

Thanks all for your comments.

Cavegod the engines never really bothered me, but now with the nose fixed, that's all I see. Oh well, another project.

In the second set of pictures, in the second pic, the top right thruster has ignited!!!! What fuel and engine did you use? xD

the nose looks much better! Now if i see a mod that sorts the engines out i may actually consider getting one. (yes, im being lazy lol)

So much better! Does this mod use parts not included with 10240?

Yes. Just a few extra part. Most came from the original nose. Here is the link for my lxf.

I've been playing around with the engines in LDD but I have been able to come up with anything that would look better. I'm starting to think at this point in time their isn't the right element out there. I have been searching the forums hoping to see a mod but I haven't.

Modded mine. Looks great, thanks for the lxf file!!! I don't think I could bring myself to change anything else... Maybe add landing gear

Today I modded mine too. The new nose is fantastic; thanks Eddmont for share this. Now, about a landing gear, I found on another site a mod for add a fixed / removable landing gear (very similar of the one useon the UCS Imperial Shuttle 10212) and is in fact a very interesting idea, however I don't know if put a link from another LUG is allowed here...

Receiving my 10240 early next week - I will definitely be doing this mod to it, looks stunning and way better than the blunt and blocky nose of the standard one - at least it isn't as blocky as the 7191 was :-)

Thanks for showing!

Thanks all for your comments. Just saw the mod you mention BigTonka. Hope to have it done as soon as I get a chance.

Hi eddmont. I recreated your mod but I have made two minor changes. My version is one stud shorter and the middle indent i not sloped but much more flat - more in line with the studio model. Otherwise you are spot on!
