eddmont Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I couldn't stand how the nose looked on this set. Following mattewtyson lxf I think I managed a better compromise look. It's much better than the blunt nose the set original came with. I changed the top of it a bit but overall it was his design. The nose is 1 stud longer. Quote
coffeeandcake Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 could you show any pics of the nose attached to the model itself? Quote
Tariq j Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Nice modd but as coffeeandcake said could you attach it to the model itself. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Is there also a possobility of a side by side comparison of the original and your version? It does look good though! Quote
Jim Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Looks great! I agree with the rest, a side by side comparison or picture of the nose attached to the real model would be nice! Quote
Xcod119 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Same, I can't make a judgement till I see it next to, or on the original model Quote
Only Sinner Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Thanks for fixing this. The stock one is rather unsightly. Quote
eddmont Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) Thanks for fixing this. The stock one is rather unsightly. Here are the pics you all have been asking. I think it looks much better but that is my opinion. Edited July 24, 2013 by eddmont Quote

Mr Man Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 That new nose looks much better especially in the last two pictures. Quote
cavegod Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Just those undersized engines now! The nose looks great! Quote
eddmont Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Thanks all for your comments. Cavegod the engines never really bothered me, but now with the nose fixed, that's all I see. Oh well, another project. Quote
therealjustin Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 So much better! Does this mod use parts not included with 10240? Quote
Fuppylodders Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 In the second set of pictures, in the second pic, the top right thruster has ignited!!!! What fuel and engine did you use? xD the nose looks much better! Now if i see a mod that sorts the engines out i may actually consider getting one. (yes, im being lazy lol) Quote
eddmont Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 So much better! Does this mod use parts not included with 10240? Yes. Just a few extra part. Most came from the original nose. Here is the link for my lxf. In the second set of pictures, in the second pic, the top right thruster has ignited!!!! What fuel and engine did you use? xD the nose looks much better! Now if i see a mod that sorts the engines out i may actually consider getting one. (yes, im being lazy lol) I've been playing around with the engines in LDD but I have been able to come up with anything that would look better. I'm starting to think at this point in time their isn't the right element out there. I have been searching the forums hoping to see a mod but I haven't. Quote
wondermonkey Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Modded mine. Looks great, thanks for the lxf file!!! I don't think I could bring myself to change anything else... Maybe add landing gear Quote
Captain_Rex Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Welcome to the site and great job with the nose! Quote
BigTonka Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Modded mine. Looks great, thanks for the lxf file!!! I don't think I could bring myself to change anything else... Maybe add landing gear Today I modded mine too. The new nose is fantastic; thanks Eddmont for share this. Now, about a landing gear, I found on another site a mod for add a fixed / removable landing gear (very similar of the one useon the UCS Imperial Shuttle 10212) and is in fact a very interesting idea, however I don't know if put a link from another LUG is allowed here... wondermonkey Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) I guess you could probably post your own pictures... If you'd want. I know I'd be interested. ;) ... Probably in a new thread... Edited September 1, 2013 by wondermonkey Quote
Annobanno Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Receiving my 10240 early next week - I will definitely be doing this mod to it, looks stunning and way better than the blunt and blocky nose of the standard one - at least it isn't as blocky as the 7191 was :-) Thanks for showing! Quote

mortesv Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 (edited) Hi eddmont. I recreated your mod but I have made two minor changes. My version is one stud shorter and the middle indent i not sloped but much more flat - more in line with the studio model. Otherwise you are spot on! Edited September 5, 2013 by mortesv Quote
