You have done it!

I am not big fan of boats, but this one is huge, detailed, well colored. One word - COOL!

More I like that you have so much patience and effort to finish it.

Looks good !

However (extracted from the frontpage) : "He invented this building style for ships and seems to be the only one using it, though probably not for long!"

I doubt it. Technically speaking, using studless beams to build the hull does not make much sense. Using regular bricks and inverted slopes would be much more logical here.

Personally, I disagree. Bricks falls apart too easily, especially at this kind of weight. I think the Technic design makes the hull much stronger than it would otherwise be, and it looks great as well.

I agree with Blakbird. The method used is good for this model and makes sense to me. using normal bricks would probably make it heavier, fragile and not as smooth, it would maybe be more time consuming also. These ships are well constructed, accurate and look excellent. I would have tried to use studded panels and maybe failed miserably but I will never know. However, I will try something similar to this but on a much smaller scale. Moving on for a moment, and this maybe become another topic, I remember the lego fire boat and police boat many moons ago. Lego have never really got to grips with water based models.
