I looked and didn't see this posted. If it was, my apologies :) Anyway, here it is:

Gallery

I can't quite place my finger on it, but I really love this for some reason *wub*

Edit: Thanks for the clarification, ImperialScouts :-D The title has been edited accordingly

It is quite nice. Of course, it's not a official vignet as it's not 8x8 (I think that's what they're supposed to be). I would call it an extremely small diarama. I don't like the hull to much, to messy.

Thanks for the find, J4. Personally, I think the hull is quite good, although it would be very hard to make a whole ship using that technique. But, Isn't it normally skulls and guns with pirates? And not wolves?

Well, if you look in the gallery it mentions merchants being not that different than pirates. I'd assume the wolfpack faction is meant to be a brand of merchant *sweet*

When and whom determined that 8x8 was the official measurements for LEGO vignettes?

Nice find Starwars4J! This has not been on display before.

I challenge the builder to make a complete ship like this.

That hull is very interesting... But it doesn't do the job for me...

I like the face of this mini-figure - which set is he out of?

I though it was Danju from KK... But he's not:

It's still a mysteryyyy....

Mr Tiber

Not to me! I have this head!

It is a KK2 head. I believe I got it in 'Battle at the Pass' which is loaded with weapons. There are a few other KK2 sets that have this head, like 'Kings Siege Tower' and 'Castle of Morcia'. It was also a Viking head on the 'Vikings with Heavy Artillery Wagon!'

Yes, there is quite a simalarity there Mr phes...

If I had the set, I would probably swap that head with one in my Crimson Tyrant MOC, as that one looks better.

Yes, he would. There are good mini-figure heads for pirates from these more recent themes, but problem is these heads can get a bit expesnive especially if they're rare. They can also be a hard to track down if you don't know which set they're from, because obviously when you have the set inventory you can look up the part number.

Bricklink uses the same part numbers as Peeron.com - doesn't it?

This is why you ask what it is on the forums silly, and peeps track them down if they happen to know where the head is from!

The question was asked and less than a day later I could tell you where it same from.

Not always. Especially with newer pieces. This head for example is part number 3626bpx286 on peeron but 3626bpb222 on bricklink. If you know the set number though, then you can use either inventory to get the number they use on the site. They also take their own pictures and use slightly different references.

Peeron for example calls this head 'Minifig Head with Gray Beard and Eyebrows, White Sideburns and Hair Pattern' with this picture

3626bpx286.1149471807.jpg

While bricklink says it is 'Minifig, Head Beard Gray Fading to White Hair, White Pupils (King Mathias)' with this picture

3626bpb222.jpg

Other parts, however, have exactly the same number! Like a standard 1 x 2 brick is part number 3004 or a barrel is 2489 while newer parts like the KK2 dark knight helmets numbers are very different, x1196 on peeron and bb52 on bricklink

Errrrrr... I did... In case you haven't noticed I ALWAY ask which set the mini-figures I'm unfamiliar with originate from.

Yes, I did noticed, and I have fielded such questions from you before!! I was just saying the difficulty is alleviated due to the forum!

Yes, t'was a brilliant deduction old chap!

But anyway... On to the actual MOC... There's been some dislike towards the hull... As a master ship builder Mr ZCerberus what are your thoughts on this hull?

I love the ladder piece used as a fence, I might use that later...

The tiles at the floor make the floor look very sleek and because there are more 1 wide bricks next to each other it has a wooden look.

Very nicely done!

Well, most Lego Vignetts are usually that size, from what I've seen.

Well I wouldn't say I am a 'master ship builder', perhaps as an 'active ship builder' I would say I like the idea, but there are some issues with the build that may turn some off.

For example, I like the general idea which I think was to use brown bricks and make the sides look like planking. The problems are several.

1) the shape of the bricks is somewhat odd as it is rounded, which isn't really all that authentic. Though I usually do not advocate 'realism' over cool factor, for a diorama I guess I expect more realism.

2) there are no three stud or one stud length bricks of that type, and I am also not entirely sure how many pieces the builder has, but because of the fact that the pieces needed to be staggered by an odd brick (at the very least on the ends) every other row to stay stable, there was a necessity to use the round one stud bricks throughout the build which does look a little strange.

3) the build method makes all the "planks" look 1 stud long

4) finally, because of the SNOT technique, the gun port openings open side ways, which is a little odd.

I see your points Mr ZCerberus and I do agree. I think this building method would work a lot better if this was supposed to be some kind of fortification rather than sea vessel.
