Kintobor Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 I look down at my barbed hand, and hold it in the direction of the alchemist. "Go ahead." Costello begins to look Sorrow's hand over, a more grimacing look dawning on his face as he does so. "Mummy Rot. This isn't good. You're hands infected, badly. If left untreated, you could potentially lose your hand. The virus is more likely to infect undead, particularly resurrects, than it is to infect the living, although the symptoms are slightly different. It occurs when one's come into contact with undead, but the lot back there wouldn't have allowed it to fester for too long, allowing the symptoms to show up. As dire as this is, you're in luck. We've caught it before it's done too much damage. However, you're going to need to find the root of a rare herb, a Sunset Shimmer, found occasionally in the forest. If you can bring it to me, I can brew you a remedy for it. You've saved my life, the least I can do is brew you a remedy." Costello gives Sorrow a worrying look. QM NOTE: There you go, Endgame, here's a personal quest for ya. If you do manage to find the root, we can work something up for the hall thread. Quote
LordoftheNoobs Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 OOC: Sunset Shimmer, eh? I wonder where you got that name from... Grimwald grimaces at Sorrow’s mutilated hand, surprised that he hardly noticed it before. “Let’s hope we can find this herb, that hand don’t look too good, lad.” Quote
Endgame Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I look down at my barbed hand, the pieces of glass shimmering with a sharp glint. Sore wasn't even close to describing the sensation... My entire hand felt like it was on fire, slowly burning away. "So this is the price I pay for my penance... Hm. Thank you, Costello. I'll be keeping an eye out for that herb, rest assured." I turn to Grimwald, smiling sadly... Even though my hood concealed it. "Yeah, it doens't look too good, does it? I'm already old enough, I don't need to be walking around with no hand for my last couple of years. However, even if I do cure the infection... I'm leaving the glass in. It's the price I will pay for killing... her. Thank you for the kind offer, Costello. Now, where are we heading next? And before I forget..." I down a Mead, Nostrum, and Semlling Salts. Quote

"He was taking too long on making a brew an elixir that could alter people's minds with less ingredients too long, so when Costello came, they shackled him and slit his throat right in front of us." Connor stops talking, lost in thought. Costello doesn't say a word, simply keeps walking through the dreary prison walls. Quote

Kintobor Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 "Could this exlixir be mixed into a meal?" "Hmm... it probably could. However, I don't see why you're asking? Kintobor Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 Before Costello can respond to Sorrow, the party returns to the mess hall doors. Costello steps in front of the party as he looks the door over. "Well, let's see what's behind here. Connor?" "Coming!" Connor steps in front and begins to speak to himself, moving his wand in a circular motion, his voice picking up as he does. After a minute, he thrusts his wand forward as nothing happens. Connor steps for... he reaches out to touch the door... and nothing happens. He opens the door. "Well, lets move. If there's something we gotta steal, lets steal it." The party enters the spacious mess hall. All the benches have been pushed to the ends of the room as a large pit opens up near the back, a small crane looming over it. A table sits next to it, with various things strewn about it. Just what was going on here? What will the party do? Quote
Endgame Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 "Good work, Connor." I crane my head over the pit carefully, trying to discern how deep this went. Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Em walks directly over to the table, inspecting the contents. Quote
Kintobor Posted September 7, 2013 Author Posted September 7, 2013 "Good work, Connor." I crane my head over the pit carefully, trying to discern how deep this went. Sorrow looks into the pit, trying to discern how deep the pit went. He can't see the bottom, nor is there any way to get down there. Jumping down could result in a broken leg, or death. Em walks directly over to the table, inspecting the contents. Em looks about the table, trying to find anything of use. Without having to look too hard, he finds a pristine looking elvish blade., it's hilt encrusted with amethysts. Also lying on the table are four gold bars lying in a tray. Stacked on the other side are two books, one leather bound without a title, the other old and worn, with runes adorning the front. Quote

Kintobor Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 I ponder whether or not it is possible to slide down the crane's rope Batman/Fireman/Ninja/Batman Fireman Ninja style. "This is no mess hall, that is for damn sure..." One could slide down the rope, but could one be able to get back up? "I'd recommend not sliding down there. I doubt the durability of this rope. As for a mess hall, this was originally a functioning prison. However, as you'd might guess, whatever was originally here seemed to be of more importance to this Order Imperial than the heritage of the building." Quote
