I've just picked the last missing S1 figure for full 160 basic set of 10 series. And when I was ready to open it I saw that Review to get even more excited about Series 11! )

Great Review! Can't wait to afford the full set as quickly as it's possible there!

My favourite from the set is the Bavarian Girl, but the Constable and the Tiki Warrior are amazing, too! The whole set will be a great addition for my collection, probably only Scientist and Lady Robot are dull in my opinion.

Thanks once more for the detailed analysis, WF!

I have mixed feelings with series 11. Maybe it's due to my feelings that I get a bit bored after 10 series of minifigs and the big let down with Mr. Gold.

But series 11 is for me a series of counterparts or sidekicks. Not very many all new ideas.

I'm sure this will be the first series I'm NOT buying every single fig from.

Thank you for the review!

I love how these faces are detailed but also generic enough for customs! :sweet:

Plus green's my favourite colour and 11 is my favourite number!

Thanks for another review 'Fangy', each series now is on the up and up though it's a pity that the welder's helmet doesn't swing up like a real one.....oh, well I'll still get a half dozen of them....handy parts collection.

Granny with her puddy tat......now that would have to be the cutest of this series.

Now we wait till the end of the year....to find out about series 12 !

I really don't like Lego's distribution of the recent waves - only having 2 of several figures is highly irritating, and just serves to push up prices on Bricklink later.

As for the figures themselves, some of them are fantastic - particularly the scientist and bobby. I won't collect the entire set this time round, but probably about 50%.

Thanks for the review. The set as a whole is kinda underwhelming for me. I'll definitely get the Grandma, Scarecrow, Gingerbread man, Jazz Musician, Welder, and Scientist. All of the others are meh to me but there are some desirable parts like the Elf's gift and teddy bear and the Waitress' skates, hair and ice-cream. lol, the more I think about it the more I'm actually liking this set.

Thanks for the great review Whitefang.

Some great figs in this series. But the unbalanced distribution does piss me off. The decision to feature only 2 per box of some of the most desirable figs is clearly an attempt to boost sales (cos alot of parents just adopt the lucky dip approach to buying them). For bag ruslers like myself it just means we have to stand in the shop for an hour searching thru entire boxes for the fig we need - without any guarantee of finding it since the two may have already been taken.

Once again a great review Whitefang and series 11 looks great, unfortunately there is not much love from LEGO to their home country Denmark, first the Kjeld Kirk Christiansen "50% greed tax" on BTTF 21103 for Danish customers compared to English/german even though same production costs for LEGO and now the apparently true rumors that series 11 will not be available in Denmark.... Shame on you TLG!!!:angry:

The distribution is a bunch of crap. I didn't realize that Lego was intentionally making certain figures rarer like this. All this will do is drive up prices for certain figures on the secondary market, because there will be people who will search out the rare figures just to flip them on bricklink for a profit.

As for the figures, I already commented on them, but I just saw that the mech has the old school blacktron symbol on his armor... very cool! It would be nice if the other details on the figure's print and blaster were yellow instead of green, as that would match Blacktron 1 better. Right now it looks like a mash up of that and Blacktron 2.

Thanks for the great review!

It's a shame about the distribution rate, I was really looking forward to getting grandma and the tiki warrior. You'd think that the TLG wouldn't stoop to such low tactics as lowering the distribution of some of the best figs to raise sales; especially considering the popularity of CMF :hmpf_bad: .

On the bright side however, the blacktron mech seems better than I hoped, and I think the welders helmet could make an excellent robot head.

Thank you very much guys who have taken their time to compose their thoughts and share with the rest in this review. It is very interesting to see each other take.

Thanks for the review once again. 176 unique minifigs. That's insane! What do you do with all the duplicate figures anyway?

There are endless possibilities to what one can do with the duplicate minifigures. Most probably, I could do repetitions of different looking visual for the same genre.

Thank you very much for your outstanding review. Looking at those new figs sure inspires me to create more Bat-figs!

Pengy, I can't wait to see you in action to pull these new designs to create more Batman theme related minifigures, especially the 'new' Scarecrow design.

Thanks for the review. Wish the barbarian came with some different weapons, his swords look too civilized for him. I think a big axe would fit him better. Also a bit disappointed that the diner waitress has no back printing... she looks naked from the back!!!

You have certainly nail that down. I thought have the Barbarian to be able to wield duo swords will make him appear to be 100% offensive mode. Still, you apt description of the giant pole axe will be a much better choice.

They do in fact wear them for any special occasion, not just Oktoberfest. It is a very popular festive outfit for all ages, being traditional and trendy at the same time (there are lots of renowned dirndl designers with their own labels and very expensive dresses). It's always very cute to see groups of women wearing dirndls in the city - same goes for men in lederhosen by the way!

Actually you will hardly see people wearing the Bavarian outfit in the rest of the country (unless it is for fancy dress or Bavarian-themed parties). It is something very regional - might be nice to know when you haven't seen much of Germany yet.

Miss Kyle, it is very insightful to hear your thoughts on their festive outfit especially for my lack of knowledge in this area. It is indeed very interesting to see the people wearing this iconic clothings.

Thanks whitefang for very detail review, would share to HKLUG members :D

good works!

Thank you so much chiukeung. I am looking forward to find out what our Asian counterparts, HKLUG felt about this new series.

I'm sure this will be the first series I'm NOT buying every single fig from.

Actually I shared your same sentiments too, but maybe perhaps it is the tiring hunt of Mr. Gold make the entire collecting process much tedious and less enjoyable and it is not as if it was enjoyable in the past. It just make it worse. Nonetheless, this new series remain to serve its greater purpose by able to continue to overwhelm us with excitement.

The Diner waitress has a two sided head.

Ouch, thank you so much DrLegostar. I lost that image which I have taken for her dual sided feeling that show her annoying face. Geez, thank you for pointing it out.

Are you saying that Series 11 will not be available in Denmark? How true is your source of information? Because I really find it very hard to believe that this is not extended to its own country mates.

Another fantastic review of what looks to be another fantastic series of CMFs. I am relatively new in the CMFs business and generally look to just buy the figures I like in each series rather than blindly collect all 16. However, your photos of all 176 minifigures is hugely impressive and I'm extremely jealous

I am very excited about the gingerbread man, the grandma (especially for the cat), the scientist, the jazz musician and the yeti.

Thanks very much for your review and I look forward 1st September for the Australian release....

Great review WhiteFang! Really appreciate the work you put into these things :classic: . My favorites are the Scarecrow, Bavarian lady, and the Yeti (sooo cute!); I also really like the Elf, Grandma and Jazz musician for their accessories. Can't wait to get my hands on some of these.

Thanks for the review! It's nice to see that more and more of collectable minifigs get back and arm printings. They add a lot to their designs, especially to Barbarian which seemed rather boring.

The distribution is not that bad. Six bobbies help me to gather a Steam Guard more easily, but two Bavarian ladies is a bit nasty.

I really love the Scientist figure, LEGO in my opinion has always done a poor job with scientist figs, normally they come with a space logo or medical equipment. This figure is definitely a researcher, with a proper lab coat. I am going to have to get 2 of them to make me and my girlfriend !

The scarecrow has a great hat and I love the tribal guy also, but its the scientist that makes this series for me
