Posted July 28, 201311 yr Added some beams and panels here and there to clean up the look a little bit. Edited July 28, 201311 yr by WR3KL3SS
July 28, 201311 yr I like the mods, but the batt box is still not looking too good... Use yellow ballon paint
July 28, 201311 yr Nice modifications, it really makes the crane look more "complete". I for one don't mind the battery box standing out, I think it fits the way it is.
July 28, 201311 yr That looks really good! I might try to do the same when I get my copy, if I have the right parts of course.
July 28, 201311 yr Author The only thing that saves the battery in my opinion is that in real life they have metal plates that they add as counterweights. These plates are solid steel and sometimes are grey. http://www.heavyequipmentforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=51797&stc=1&d=1258589408
July 28, 201311 yr Yeah, sometimes painted in whatever color the vehicle has, or just steel gray. Personally I've only seen those counterweights painted. I think it looks good like it is, all yellow would be a bit boring.
July 28, 201311 yr Agreed, the one set that battery box actually fits in with is the 42009 because of the counterweights. I'm definitely going to try filling mine in once I get it built, but I'm going to need to order some parts through Bricklink since I don't have any yellow left.
December 30, 20168 yr I made some mods to the crane, all aesthetic mods. The crane looks even more beautiful. Some beams, panels, an exhaust system to the truck and an exhaust system to the super structure. 2016-12-28 15.14.13 by Evandro Ortigossa, on Flickr 42009 by Evandro Ortigossa, on Flickr Edited February 6, 20178 yr by evortigosa
