Posted July 29, 201311 yr Hello! I haven't done much building in the past year (the first MOCs I posted were a couple of months old when I joined) but now I have time to spare and can focus on building. Today, I present Battersea Power Station, a hallmark of the south London skyline and star of a couple of Doctor Who episodes and the cover for Animals by Pink Floyd. I saw it when I was in London just the other day, and it was very exciting! I have designed it in the style of the Architecture sets because I think it (the building) would be at home in the line. Pictures follow. You can see them on Flickr as well. Thanks for reading! And, of course, comments and criticism are welcome. Edited July 29, 201311 yr by jamesn
July 29, 201311 yr Great representation of such an iconic building. I love the pig in the last image and coincidently I was listening to Animals on the drive home tonight.
July 30, 201311 yr Great work, jamesn. Iconic London building. Deserves a place in the Architechture line. I stayed several days in Batersea in June and got a good view of the power station from the bus each day. Hopefully the new development will help preserve this landmark for many years to come. http://www.batterseapowerstation.co.uk/ :classic:
July 30, 201311 yr Indeed a really nice built and could have a place in the Architecture line. You should consider creating a Cuusoo project from it! B.t.w. just wondering, what is that pink cone + pink round plate doing there in the bottom picture?!
July 30, 201311 yr Author JopieK, he pink cone and round plate represent the pig from the cover of Animals by Pink Floyd. Thanks for the comments!
July 31, 201311 yr Very nicely and accurately built. The pig is certainly an essential part of this creation (yes, I'm a Pink Floyd fan ). I have already thought of building this landmark too, but in a slightly larger scale so this part could be used for chimneys.
