Brainbox Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 So, knowing that there are a few other Transformers fans here, I suggest that we can talk about them here. Toys, comics, the movie, whatever. I read Infiltration recently. Nice! The new designs are great, especially Ratchet/Ironhide. The legs kind of remind me of an interim stage between classic box-legs and new movie-legs. I think I may have to try and find it in my bookshop (I borrowed it from the library), and I'm waiting with baited breath for Escalation and Devastation. Have you heard about the Transformers/Avengers crossover. Wow! I'm gonna have to read that. The movie's really gearing up as well. It looks so good. The movie designs look great, especially Ratchet. Yes, Ratchet is one of my favourite characters, besides Shockwave. Quote

Brainbox Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 is this related to lego? It doesn't have to be, no. Quote
rexcal Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 or there is a simpsons movie coming out that lego could make sets for. Honestly, I was hoping for that to happen for years. But I don't think that'll happen, because chances are good that we'd already know if they had bought the license. They missed a great opportunity for that, concerning that "Simpsons" is a very well known franchise which works for a kids audience as well as for a grown up one. Plus, the yellow minifig heads seem to be destinated to become Simpsons characters' heads. I can only dream about all the great sets and buildings they could create with that licence... :'-) :'-) :'-) Quote
UltraPrime Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I'm currently reading Escalation. This has been a very good series, much better than I expected. The way the stories weave between the titles is just amazing. Roll on Megatron Origins! Quote
Vader Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I'm currently reading Escalation. This has been a very good series, much better than I expected. The way the stories weave between the titles is just amazing. Roll on Megatron Origins! Yeah i have to agree with you, i love the way the storys are being weaved together. The way the spotlight issues have been done to interact with various parts of Escalation, Infiltration and Stormbreaker have been amazing. I have to say all these titles hold some of the finest TF stories ive read in a long time. I liked Dreamwaves take on the TF world but the storys were just to gung ho and far fetched even in a world of giant robots X-D , IDW have reall y picked the ball up and run with it. Now i just hope the next batch of spotlights and Megs Origin are as good. As for lego TF's well if that was gonna happen it would of done by now. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 As for lego TF's well if that was gonna happen it would of done by now. Pity it hasn't though. The spotlight look pretty good too, and I'll probably try to find the TPB when it comes out. Especially since Shockwave's there. I think I might also look for the IDW reissue War Within series. I'd like to get a look at the designs if nothing else. Although I would like to read the stories as well. Quote
dr01d3k4 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 isn't this a LEGO website, not a transformers website. Quote
Starwars4J Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 isn't this a LEGO website, not a transformers website. You've made that point twice now, but this is in culture and multimedia... :-| Quote

mutley777 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I am now well out of touch with all things transformers. I only have one transformer left from my childhood collection of over 100 and that is power master double dealer, who now apparently is quite rare as he is complete and in good condition. :-) Quote
UltraPrime Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 what does that mean? It means this section of the board covers books, tv, music, etc. Not Lego-related at all. If you look through other topics in this section, you will see. Quote

dr01d3k4 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 i didn't collect transformers, but my dad did. one day, my dad showed me some of the old cartoons and it started me liking them! i don't have any transformers, apart from the remains of one when i tried to make optimus prime out of lego. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 10, 2007 Author Posted March 10, 2007 i don't have any transformers, apart from the remains of one when i tried to make optimus prime out of lego. I actually have very few, prefering the mythology to anything else. That said, however, I have an ALt. Smokescreen stood on my shelf along with a few of the Cybertron Legends (Evac, Jetfire and Thundercracker). Stood on my desk is Legends Sunstorm. *wub* I do have a few more, but they aren't on display. Quote
UltraPrime Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 You don't want to know how many I have ;-) Quote

UltraPrime Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Masterpiece Megatron due end of month. I'll get pics up when he arrives... Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Awesome! Looks like it'll be a great toy. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 what does that mean? Flippin' 'eck! You do know you can talk about things other than lego here- they go in the community and culture and multimedia sections of the site. ;-) I have afew toys, mainly the car ones that turn into robots and have guns- very fun playing with them although i have to say, i am not really a collecter. Not really that excited about the movie that is coming out- polly won't see it- but it's good for other transformer fans. Quote
