Brainbox Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 (edited) Okay, so I picked up my results this morning, then enrolled at college. That was, to be honest, the most successful part of the day. Lets take a look at my previous list: WHSmith for my Fantastic Four Comic Sainsbury's (a bit out of the way but never mind) for Movies TFs Wilkinsons on the off-chance that they've got some Classics or Titaniums in (even though they didn't the other day) Woolworths in case they've got round to getting some good TF stock in (as opposed to Real Gear Wave 1, Legends Wave 1 and Classics Jetfire) Tesco to see if they've actually bothered to get the Movie figures, Home Bargains and TK Maxx (also out of the way) on the off-chance. Well, you never know. Lunch... gotta eat. WHSmith- yep, got my comic. Very good, btw. Sainsburys- had Wreckage, Scorponok and a few FABs, none of which I'm bothered about. Wilkinsons, Tesco, Home Bargains and TK Maxx had nothing TF-wise at all. I wsa thinking about getting #7902 for MOCing purposes, but the only one they had was in a ripped box. TK Maxx also had some Captain Scarlet/Thunderbirds/etc stuff I may go back for later. Woolworths had nothing of interest as usual. But they are finally getting round to stocking new Lego. They had two (yeah, two!) MM sets and the TIE Crawler. Didn't get any though. Still, at least I got my comic, and (if I do say so myself) excellent GCSE results. Oh, and lunch, I bought lunch. Hope yours are okay Thrawn. ;-) Edited August 23, 2007 by Brainbox Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I got the Beast Wars comics (except issue 4 which I can't find online anywhere) and they're great. Some really clever writing and great art in there. I did get some good results thanks Brainbox. *sweet* Quote
Brainbox Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 (edited) I read the BW tpb the other month, I think I said. I thought it was good too. The Cybertronian designs are a marvel to behold, as always. Manterror was a pretty clever translation, and Magmatron just looks *wub* Good, and your welcome Thrawn. EDIT: Look here. 16th October release date? Seems a little early to me, but hey if it's true I'm not complaining. Edited August 23, 2007 by Brainbox Quote
Vader Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Don Figueroa is a master definately. Very true, i haven't been this impressed by an artist for a long time. The BW mini series was a good read, though i do wish we could have one based on the characters from the show and not the toys that weren't in it. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I like that it's based on Fresh characters, especially since I own alot of 'em. I did notice that towards the end of the toyline the figures became more show focused and accurate, meaning very few non-show characters. But I'm so glad they included Ramulus and Razorbeast. Am I the only one who wants Hasbro to release a Cybertronian version of Leo Prime as shown in The Gathering? Quote
Brainbox Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 (edited) Am I the only one who wants Hasbro to release a Cybertronian version of Leo Prime as shown in The Gathering? Nope, but I think I'd rather have Magmatron. I went to TRU as I said I would yesterday. No deluxes though. They had some of the G1 reissues though- Skywarp, Prowl, Red Alert, Tracks, Inferno and Soundwave (all Edited August 25, 2007 by Brainbox Quote
Echo Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Universe Repugnus is awesomeness incarnate. Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Man, transformers toys are completely sold out in my area. i meanlitterally absolutly nothing. Maybe a cyber slamer here or there, but nothing good. (no offesnse to thoses that like the cyber slamers). Its clear that all the stores are waiting for the next wave since there's still a big section deadicated to transformers. Just have to wait i guess. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 After seeing Barricade alot around here, I can't find him anymore. However, after my Birthday I'm gonna go and get Commemorative Soundwave. Quote
Brainbox Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 I might do the same after mine. Or perhaps ask for him for my birthday. There seemed to be quite a few in TRU the other week, so I'm guessing they'll be fairly easy to find. In other news, I wore my Autobot T-Shirt today for my first day at college. Trouble is, no-one recognised it :-| (well, except one person in a long black trenchcoat and big clumpy boots who did a bizarre little dance at it's "awesomeness"). Sigh, some people just don't appreciate style when they see it. :-D Tomorrow I'll be wearing my 'Let the Wookie Win' LSW T-Shirt, see if a few more people bat an eyelid. Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Went to Best Buy todayand found out the U.S. DVD realse for the new movie is October 16th. Avaible in regular DVD, and Blue ray formats. No HD DVD though. As long as they have it in regualr DVD format, i'm happy. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I got the Commemorative Soundwave for my Birthday yesterday. Really cool toy. I think I might go out for a look at Transformers in TRU today. Quote

No HD DVD though. As long as they have it in regualr DVD format, i'm happy. :-) I think you got that the wrong way round there as it will be available on HD-DVD not blu-ray. This is because dreamworks and paramount will no longer support the blu-ray format. Quote

Maybe those were old pics. Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) There were but 2 Transformers I wanted currently... Meantime and the MP3 Soundwave from Japan. Well, my list got shorter (lol). Turns out Meantime's not even a real watch! Hell with that! http://flickr.com/photos/king_emmanuel/1286324799/ Edited September 9, 2007 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
Brainbox Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 Went to Best Buy todayand found out the U.S. DVD realse for the new movie is October 16th. Apparantly, the UK release isn't till December 3rd. December 3rd! That's almost two months after the US! I got the Commemorative Soundwave for my Birthday yesterday. Really cool toy. I think I might go out for a look at Transformers in TRU today. I thought about getting him the opther week, but passed in the end. I wish I had now. I might go back after my birthday (unles I can sneak in a hint) and see if I can find him. The TRU I went in the other week had loads of Commemerative figures, and loads of Cybertron figures, but not much in the way of Movie figures. Although I think they had quite a few Leader Primes. There were but 2 Transformers I wanted currently... Meantime and the MP3 Soundwave from Japan. MP3 Soundwave looks so cool. As long as he's the blue version (I suppose you could call the white one Ultra Magnus for the sole reason he's a repaint), and as long as he's got the Rumble and Frenzy earphones. I'm not really an MP3 guy, but this is an exception. Quote

I'm not surprised about that, as it is still on a my local cinema and Oct 16 is only a month away. Shame though i would like to get my hands on a copy early :-D . Quote
JoeMI6 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 When we went and bought Halo: Uprising, LordT was kind enough to lend me a bit of cash to get Classics Grimlock. After seeing the original Transformers movie, he became my new favourite TF, and he's very cool. Also, if you get a chance, I recently saw Arcee, 2008 Bumblebee and Thrust in my local Wilkinsons in the UK. But if you see them near you, then snatch them up quick, as when I went back, the scalpers had visited, and there was nary a deluxe wave 3 fig in sight. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Psst. It's not Thrust it's Dreadwing psst. ;-) I was lucky to grab the last Protoform Optimus at TRU the other day with Classics Starscream. Optimus is a bit floppy when you handle him but he's very very poseable and stable when set down. Starscream is just amazingly cool and accurate to the old show. Quote
Brainbox Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 (edited) I'm not surprised about that, as it is still on a my local cinema and Oct 16 is only a month away. I suppose it'd sort of match up with the cinematic release date, with the UK being about a month behind the US. With the DVD release we'd be about a month and a half behind. Doesn't make it right though. Also, if you get a chance, I recently saw Arcee, 2008 Bumblebee and Thrust in my local Wilkinsons in the UK. I must've checked my two local Wilkinson's about 20 times recently, and found absolutely nothing by way of either Classics or Movie figs. I nipped into Woolies on my way into college yesterday, and the sole content of the TF section was a sole Movie Legends Ratchet, two Cyberslammers and a few Classics Minicons. The Legends Ratchet wasn't even in the right place... I did see an Arcee in a different Woolies a few weeks ago though, so be on the lookout. Edited September 11, 2007 by Brainbox Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 This has to be some kind of record for the amount of time it takes to realse to DVD. Imean it was only in the theaters for 3 months before its DVD realse. I remeber when it would take over a year for movies to come out on VHS!!! Man that was some time ago. :-D Also, September 21rst TF is beingshown on IMAX her in the states! can't wait! Quote
5150 Lego Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 WOW!!!! My buddy and I just loooked on Amazon.com to see if we could find any TF movie figs, or any TF figs for that matter.
