Brainbox Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 I like LEGO Transformers and this is the best, imo. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=280734 , It is like on Minifig scale! I think I came across this the other day, and I have to say, it's pretty cool. In fact, I really think I'm gonna have to try this. I saw Leader Brawl in TRU today, and I was sorely tempted. Then I came to my senses... :-D Honestly, Woolies are really russhing through TF stock. They've now got Final Battle Jazz and Longarm (who I keep calling Payload *wacko* ). I mean, talk about quick! zero1312 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Has anyone one of the so-called Roadbots? Are they good? They're available here and I've been tempted to buy one or two. Quote
Brainbox Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 I've heard that they're okay, but they're not TFs, and they're completely out of scale with both each other and TFs... moreso than TFs are I mean. Quote
5150 Lego Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 .I saw Leader Brawl in TRU today, and I was sorely tempted. Then I came to my senses... :-D What?? He's probbly the best out of the Movie figs! Great detailin bot, and tank mode, preety easy to transform. Highly recomended!!! Quote
Brainbox Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 What?? He's probbly the best out of the Movie figs! Oh, I agree. I meant that I settled down and listened to my head rather than my heart. I've got other things to spend my money on at the moment. I mean, I'm supposed to be saving up for a laptop. Quote

Brainbox Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 I've not really reported much TF news recently, have I? Well, here we go. So, next year we're getting Blaster and Arcee Spotlights from IDW. Personally, I think they're pretty good choices, as they're both reasonably iconic, and they're both pretty interesting (and all the fanboys fancy Arcee ;-) ). Next up, we have some TF: Animated toy prototypes (as in, painted prototypes) up on eBay. I won't link to the eBay pages myself, but all five can be found here. Up for viewing are Prime (deluxe), Prowl, Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Lockdown. I have to say, I'm pretty interested, especially in Prowl, BB and Bulkhead. Less so the other two though. And there's a TF: Animated clip floating around out there somewhere, but I'll edit in a link later when I find it. Quote
jedikermit Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Those are...interesting. The Robot forms look really streamlined--not as blocky as most other TFs have been since...forever. Bumblebee looks great, and I have no idea who Bulkhead is, but he looks fantastic too. The others... :-X Especially Optimus, which makes me sad. Maybe other more deluxe-expensive versions of him will be more impressive. Quote
Matn Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Wow! Those Animated Transformers look so cool. I'm happy with my Subaru transformer, altough I liked to have more of those serie. I don't like the movie toys that much, they look to kiddie. The Animated look also kiddie, but rather cool. Quote
Brainbox Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 and I have no idea who Bulkhead is, but he looks fantastic too. I think he's a new character for TF:Animated, but the name's been used before. Quote
zero1312 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I think he's a new character for TF:Animated, but the name's been used before. He IS a new Character, personality-wise he is like The Thing from Fantastic4. ;-) Quote
Brainbox Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 He IS a new Character, personality-wise he is like The Thing from Fantastic4. ;-) Oh, that should be good then. Have we all seen this? I guess 'don't believe everything you read in the papers' applies now more than ever. Quote
Vader Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Oh, that should be good then.Have we all seen this? I guess 'don't believe everything you read in the papers' applies now more than ever. Oh great yet more film lies, that's just what we need. Quote
Brainbox Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 Oh great yet more film lies, that's just what we need. Well, yeah, exactly. We've got real news, speculation, supposition, and now fake news. Hollywood's in a bit of a mess at the moment as it is, what with the Writers Guild strikes, so everyone's second guessing which films are and aren't going to go ahead (here's hoping Justice League does), and it's affecting TV as well (Heroes mini-series Heroes:Origins has been postponed |-/ ). The last thing we need now is fake news. Quote
Vader Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 What gets me is that these strikes could be avoided, i mean it's not like they didn't know this was going to happen a few months ago :-| Quote
Brainbox Posted November 13, 2007 Author Posted November 13, 2007 Well, I know there's that unofficial rule that says not to give in to strikes, or there'll just be more every time people want something, but please, reach a compromise. I mean, the postal strikes went on long enough, now we can't even get films. I know there's stuff like preliminary effects work that can be done, that doesn't really need a completed scripts, but if there's no script at all, what then? Quote
5150 Lego Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Oh, that should be good then.Have we all seen this? I guess 'don't believe everything you read in the papers' applies now more than ever. Well personally, ive never been the type to read a scriptbefore i've seen the movie. Why spoil it for yourself? I mean,i understand wanting to know the plot before hand, but i just don't see the point of people wanting to read the hole script before hand. personally, ithink what bay is doing is good. people are going to atempt to get the script wheather they leak it out or not. If its on a comupter, then its not safe. Quote
Brainbox Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 Well personally, ive never been the type to read a scriptbefore i've seen the movie. Why spoil it for yourself? Oh no, script-wise, I completely agree. I never want to know the whole story beforehand, ever. But I do think that a few little teasers can't hurt. Like, say, 'Megatron attacks New York City' or 'there's a new character who transforms into a space shuttle.' Personally, I think they can only hype up a movie. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Well, I've been bitten by the Neo-G1 bug and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations (not classics toys please, already know all about 'em, nor would I like exclusives as suggestions). I'm already thinking I'll get Cybertron Downshift (Wheeljack) and/or Cybertron Smokescreen but I'd like some suggestions for Decepticons. Energon Shockblast is a possibility... If anyone can help, please do! :-) Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 *sigh* Months later and still haven't seen a movie figure I liked enough to buy. I WASN'T going to get the Real Gear watch Meantime after finding out they didn't make him functional (like every Transformers watch that came before him!)... and by the time I found Jin Saotome's tutorial on customizing a working watch over him, the ONE Walmart had was gone. (Jin's custom versions): http://www.angelfire.com/mech/jinsaotome/J...s/Meantime.html (Jin's Tutorial): http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&albu...ize=800&start=0 Bleh. These movie figures are just not doin' it for me. Quote
Brainbox Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 Well, I've been bitten by the Neo-G1 bug and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations (not classics toys please, already know all about 'em, nor would I like exclusives as suggestions). How about Cybertron Excellion as Neo-G1 Hot Rod/Rodimus. and by the time I found Jin Saotome's tutorial on customizing a working watch over him, the ONE Walmart had was gone. I saw that a while ago. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with all his work on the Movie figures. This epecially is pretty nifty. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 How about Cybertron Excellion as Neo-G1 Hot Rod/Rodimus. I'm sorry I was a bit vague. I don't want to replace the Classics characters, I want homages to the other G1. Quote
5150 Lego Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 *sigh*Months later and still haven't seen a movie figure I liked enough to buy. Bleh. These movie figures are just not doin' it for me. Well concidering you didn't like the movie the figs were based on, it makes sence that you aren't found of them. I think the movie figs are great. Not just cause i like the movie, but there is so much detail in most of them. Megatron was a big dissapointment. Really bulky, and isn't all that impressive in his jet plane mode. Same with starscream. one of the best bot modes, but looks to big and bulky in raptor mode. Scorpanic is lame in either mode. leader clas brawl is without a doubt the best of the bunch. Ecellent in bot, or tank mode, sturdy, with alot of detail. I'm hoping that ultimate bumple bee is just as good. From what ive read people seem to be happy. Quote
