Brainbox Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 I'm hoping that ultimate bumple bee is just as good. From what ive read people seem to be happy. He certainly looks good. It's just a pity he's sort of in a scale of his own. Now, an Ultimate scale Prime... Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 leader clas brawl is without a doubt the best of the bunch. Ecellent in bot, or tank mode, sturdy, with alot of detail. I'll give it a look... Bleh... it's too jumbled. The tank mode is decent enought, but that robot mode is somewhat atrocious. Yikes. There's very little going on in this figure that isn't murder to my eyeballs. http://tfkenkon.com/g/?mode=view&album=Col...ze=1000&start=0 Bleh, pass. I'm also confounded by how Hasbro can never seem to make a small version of a character look the same as a larger one. Granted, just like with Lego robots, the bigger you make them, the design mechanics change based on weight. But still, there's uneccesary cosmetic changes that make me kookoo. Look at that pic... barrel, sides, front, back of tank, gun placement, color. ALL different, with the smaller one looking more realistic. That's why I like more Japan-only kind of stuff. If you like a character, he's going to be fairly consistent from one size to the next. You can easily associate with a character. But Hasbro... :-| Quote

I still like him the best though. But i do fail to seehow the smaller one looks more realistic. Quote
zero1312 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I'm sorry I was a bit vague. I don't want to replace the Classics characters, I want homages to the other G1. Well, how about Cybertron Brakedown GTS as Kup? ;-) Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Pretty good idea, thanks! I got Movie Scout Elita One yesterday to be used as Arcee. Nice figure. Quote
Brainbox Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Picked up the Movie on DVD yesterday (finally available here), Quote
Brainbox Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Just to say, I got a TF Movie BB t-shirt and a TF Movie calendar for Christmas yesterday. Both are pretty nice, in fact I'm wearing the t-shirt now. Anyone else get any TF-related stuff? Quote
CF Mitch Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I got the dvd from my aunt for Christmas *wub* Quote
Brainbox Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Have you watched it yet? A true Trans-fan would have... ;-) Quote
CF Mitch Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Yeah I know :-$ But I've watched twice in the cinema already, and I got it on Christmas Eve. On 1st Xmas-day I was at grams, so I had no time for it, and today I had company from a slightly (read: a lot) annoying neighbour, and I had to study for my drivers-license, theory-exams ;) So... perhaps tommorow *sweet* Quote
captaintau Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Have you watched it yet? A true Trans-fan would have... ;-) I got it for Christmas from the in-laws (which I suspect means Mrs Tau actually bought it). I haven't watched it yet, because... I've been building my AT-AT! :-D Quote
AgentRick Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Just watched the animated movie today, and it has a few similarities to the original series (possible spoilers) : 1) transformations use the old sound effect :-D 2) a cameo by Spike Witwicky and his family from season 3 :-/ 3) in the beginning, they used clips from G1 for a "History Log" Prime was checking on :-) 4) when Prime fell off the building and "died" X-O, his colors turn to a black/gray ala Transformers Movie '86 :-P overall, It gets a 8.5 in my book. Errorist Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) I got the dvd a week ago and i didn't get the chance to see it until Christmas 8- Edited December 27, 2007 by Errorist Quote

Lord Thrawn Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 I just bought Classics Optimus from eBay for no more than RRP. Pleased! Quote
Brainbox Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Just watched the animated movie today, and it has a few similarities to the original series (possible spoilers) : Speaking of TF: Animated, there're some new pictures which have been released regarding some of the characters: Sentinel Prime, Swoop, Ultra Magnus (vehicle) and Megatron's head (apparantly) Jazz, Sentinel Prime, Swoop, Ultra Magnus and Slag Voyager Starscream toy prototype Voyager Prime toy prototype In comics news, we're getting Spotlights for Grimlock, Arcee and Mirage, aand a Movie Sequel series is on it's way. Take a look at the cover for the Movie sequel. Mmm, homage... *wub* Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 That animated movie blew the HELL out of the recent movie. A different continuity, a different art style, a drastically different Megatron... just like the movie. BUT it didn't blow. AND... it was ridiculously honorable in it's nods to G1 and Beast Wars. You had Starscream backstabbing Megatron so that he was F'ed up for 50 years. Blackarachnia in the Transmetal 2 form, Cybertron robot modes that don't freaking look like their earth modes as well as Cybertron vehicle modes VERY reminiscent of the ones seen in G1. Visual rendition of "The Great War", complete with the G1 guys we know and love running around. The Death of Optimus Prime. And, though unseen, clear evidence that humans were getting killed. I also like the dark storyline regarding the secret of the girl's father. Brilliant stuff. So yeah, I want more. This is what the movie should've been like. There was no need for it to go so insultingly cornball away from the original stuff, as this simple kiddy animation shows. A balance of old and new WAS possible, and this show drives it home with a high-caliber shot to the head. Beautiful, beautiful. Quote

But personally, Sentinel Prime just looks like a bunch of Megabloks! :-X Also, I found a picture of Classics Onslaught. Looks really neat. Edited December 30, 2007 by AgentRick57 Quote
Brainbox Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 Onslaught looks interesting. I mean, one picture isn't much to go on, but it does look good. I think I mght have to search out the TF:Animated clip-thing, as I've not watched it yet... :-$ Quote
AgentRick Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Well, Brainbox, you wanted it, you asked for it, and now you'll get it thanks to Youtube! well, I know they're on youtube somewhere, it's just someone took them down, another guy put them up, the first guy got mad, and a word fight went down *wacko* . just search "transformers animated part 1" and you'll probably find it. X-D Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Or, you know... utorrent. *wub* Lol... my mom sent me what she thought was Lego in a box of stuff for Christmas. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=291970 Yeah, a 2003, Built to Rule Smokescreen. Almost horrendous as the figure is that I see just how BAD the macro is on my Samsung Digimax versus my now dead Olympus D340R from back in 1999. Sorry about the shittiness. And they don't even transorm OR use all the parts in either mode! Not even the freaking minicon!!! This is the best I could make this set look, period: Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 TF:A is awesome. It gave me the feeling of DC animated Universe shows like Batman Beyond. It was that good. Quote

Just one question, have they already shown it? Has the series started, or are people sjust comementin about the clip that has been shown for some time now? When does this new series offcially start? Lord Thrawn Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 The first feature length episode was first shown on Cartoon Network in the States on Boxing Day '07 and the series continues proper on the 5th of January. Quote
