DarthSion Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Well the producer wants more of the same rubbish, bay and boof said they are done, but bay might produce. It needs a reboot, otherwise we end up with well Friday the 13th, saw, final destination, pirates of the caribbean and so on stale movies. Quote
LandShark Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Well, I'm still watching Prime, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it! I thought the opening 5-part-miniseries was good. But now that we're onto proper Season 1, it's gotten great. Each episode has a good story, while avoiding any big cliches. One of the latest episodes (the one with Airachnid) was very dark and chilling, even more so than any episode of The Clone Wars, in my opinion. The animation's pretty good, too. And I've gotten used to the kids, they've actually had some nice character development. Is anyone else in the UK watching it? Quote

It has a good plot by itself, and it is nice to see Megatron actually punishing Starscream. When you betray an evil warlord, you should be beaten within an inch of your life. I am curious as to how many times Optimus can say "One shall stand and one shall fall" before we all get sick of it. Yeah Airachnid's first episode is particularly dark, as the show can be in general. I think this is the only Transformers show where an Autobot died on the first episode, not to mention all those poor Vehicons. On the matter of their squishy pets, why do so many people hate Miko? Yeah, Jack is to balanced for me. Raf is interesting though, I wonder how he can understand Bumblebee so easily? The Autobots have an excuse, they worked with him for ages, but how can a human who has known him for a few months at most understand his beeps? Quote

That's OK, I'm a few episodes behind anyway (I've been busy), but I just gotten to the bit where Megatron is inside Bumblebee's mind. Well, Raf managed to hack into a government computer, and fix some of the Autobot technology, so I guess he's just good with that stuff. One thing I do find annoying is that they have the same credits in every episode (except the Airachnid one), which only shows the key cast. So I never get to figure out who voices Wheeljack, Knockout etc. . Quote

It has a cliffhanger bordering on pure evil, and things don't look good for a certain Autobot. Or maybe he is a Protoform infused with human DNA...no I trust them not to reuse that plot. Well there is a Transformers wiki, it has a lot of information on every franchise, starting from G1. I know for a fact that it has the prime voice actors listed on the Transformer's prime home page, but I must warn you of two things. One, it is not a Wikia, but an independent site. There is also a Wikia version, but it has less data. And two, the site is a little silly and some ways the site is laid out can be offensive. Quote

The latter is funnier, and has better information on the toys, in my opinion, but it has very little on Prime. Which of them do you mean? EDIT: It's the first one that has the voice actors, thanks. I'm afraid I failed at that, I was on that site for ages after making that post! It was actually very interesting reading up on some of my old (and new) Transformer toys. Quote

It was actually very interesting reading up on some of my old (and new) Transformer toys. Yeah, you can get lost there. They even have pages for facial hair. They also have a page for all of Optimus Prime's deaths, but that is pretty justified. Instead of letting a new leader pick up the reins(Rodimus) and let the characters grow, they just bring back Orion Pax. But at least it isn't as bad as Energon's character development, or lack there of. Decepticon with conflicted loyalties? Brainwash! Human who hates machines? Forget about it. Incidentally Transformers Energon was the first Transformers show I ever watched. It would have nostaglic value, but then I saw that...fighting tournement episode. Just avoid anything involving kiss players. Some things can never be unseen. Quote
Brainbox Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Yeah, you can get lost there. They even have pages for facial hair. I'm afraid we transfans are like that... Quote
Tanma Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 The real thing that disturbs me about the page is not that it exists, but how many robots have facial hair. I can understanding have goatees in Shattered Glass, it is the calling card of a mirror universe, but there are beards on everyone. Alpha Trion actually went through stages of hair as he aged. Anyway, I once heard a rumor that they are considering making a theatrical film for Transformers Prime. Has anyone heard that rumor, or am I ill informed? Quote

LandShark Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 (edited) We in the UK have just got to the episode 'Sick Mind', where Bumblebee goes inside Megatron's mind. But now there showing it from Episode 1 (of the mini-series) all over again! I'm going to have to wait for all of them to rerun before we continue the series. I also can't wait for the toys to be released. I was never a big fan of the Bay-movie toys, I just think the Tranformers in the movies are too detailed to work well in toy form. But the Prime toys should be pretty good. Edited September 24, 2011 by LandShark Quote

Oky Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 The finale sure looks epic. Here are some more teaser images: Quote
Aethersprite Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Unicron seems...smaller than I expected. Maybe he isn't at full strength? Well, no one said it was Unicron. Could be one of his heralds. Going by what has been going on in the series so far, I'd say Unicron is the Earth. The description for the 3rd part of the finale has the Autobots slogging it out in the Earth's core. Quote

I don't usually think of Unicron with heralds, he seems more like a destroyer than a master. That was my impression too, though now I can't help but worry; what if Unicron transforms? Quote
The Iron Knight Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Well, no one said it was Unicron. Could be one of his heralds. Sideways, by any chance? Likely not, but he's hopped into every continuity thus far, I think. Quote
Tanma Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 Sideways, by any chance? Likely not, but he's hopped into every continuity thus far, I think. True enough, and Megatron in Prime seems to think he's a herald. Quote
Tanma Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I just saw one shall rise. Megatron's lines seemed a little off, but since he is completely outclassed this doesn't matter. So the stony Unicrons are actually just his "limbs." I have to say I like the fact that Unicron is Earth, it will give a good reason for the two sides to stay there even if the Energon runs out. I wonder if Unicron's spark influenced the bloody history of humanity... Quote
LandShark Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 (edited) Prime recommences in the UK tonight. And, Wave 1 of the series' toyline is released today. Does anyone else here still buy Transformers, or are we too old for toys here? EDIT: Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I've been avoiding this thread. No spoilers for me. Tanma Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) I just saw the last episode of Transformers Prime season 1 thanks to the magic of the internet; and I need season 2 now! Sure, I knew Earth was Unicron, but two major plot points occured that I had no idea of. The most obvious is Optimus lost his memories. Not only a shocker, but it makes sense as to why this never happened before. Rodimus back in G1 had it all of five seconds before using it, I am pretty sure his comrades could fill him in on the tiny gap. Not sure about the Hate Plague incident, but Optimus's death could explain that away in so many ways. The other major shocker is that the Key to Vector Sigma is on Earth. Now unless I have confused my Cybertronian artifacts, that device has some "unique" reactions to organic/technorganic life. I can see Megatron using the key to create a new Cybertron, perhaps on a humble third rock from the sun. Edited October 13, 2011 by Tanma Quote
