I wanted to make some smaller houses, with gardens, not in the usual style of modular buildings (so I used these only as background around the houses block), with some touches of old 80s city sets.

The blue roof of the building seen in background here above contains parts from all the eras, from the 60s until this year, including the disappeared double convex / double concave slope : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=962

You can find more pictures and comments on this page:

as well as the answers about which set inspired some of the houses (but many AFOLs will recognize them I suppose)

Really a nice town, you have got there, antp. I like how you have put the houses with the back yards/garden next to each other. I also like how you have used the classic houses for the new buildings. It's quite easy to recognize the good, old classics - even in new shapes

I didn't notice the red bicycle paths, before I read about it on your mocpages. Really a nice touch  I guess the citizens appreciate the safe bike riding it provides.

I like the Book Store and Restaurant - they're well done, and I particularly like the architectural details you've added to the Restaurant's facade and those White 1 x 2 Grilles are a good touch.

but I'm thinking you need some Traffic Wardens as there's a big Truck parked on the pavement and it's causing an obstruction.

Thanks for sharing it with us!

I like the layout. Great little houses framed by the Modulars is a neat idea. And breaking up the Modulars definitely makes for a more interesting street layout design.

This layout really has an 80s feel, especially with the old road plates. I like the bike paths too and the island with flowers is a very nice detail on the street.

Well done!

Thanks :)

everyone must be friendly in those houses.....very few back fences ?

Indeed, usually there are fences between gardens, but I already saw neighbours with such non-fully-fenced gardens (though that they usually are bigger), so I thought that it would spare some space not to put the fences.

especially with the old road plates

In the meantime I bought several new ones (well, second-hand, they are still 25 years old), I could make something twice as big... but for that I have another problem: where would I do that :look: that requires a lot of space on the ground.

I love your layout, very good mixture of the modulars and the old sets and your MOCs in the retro style!! I see you have done a modification to the Octan Service Station, I would love to see some more pics of that if you have them. That was my favourite set as a kid and I was thinking of adding a back to mine too!!

Anyway, I hope there will be more updates in the future? Happy building

The only changes made to the station is that I added a plain white backwall (I didn't even integrate the red & green line, it was just to hide the open back), and replaced the 16x32 baseplate by the adjacent 32x32 baseplate.

Thanks for your interest in my old MOC :) I've put new links to the pictures so they show up again, and changed the MOCpages link to a new one: https://antp.be/lego/moc/small-townhouses.php

I still have some work to do to add to my server the pages for my other MOCs that were on MOCpages (but at least for many others the images were already on my server, so they still appear propertly on Eurobricks).
