MKJoshA Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Can I ask a "rules" type question? How strict is the timeline for freebuilds vs. episodes. I have a freebuild I am working on that is a few months beyond this contest's build but I wasn't sure if I could post that now since the episode build is "current". And in general I have some freebuilds that would be set a few weeks/months apart but I certainly don't want to post them that infrequently. So is it ok to post freebuilds that are semi-future given that episodes are current? You might run into storyline inconsistencies depending on how detailed your explanation of each build is, but you can post away as goatman said! You don't have to wait for the contest to end to post freebuilds that take place after the contest. The only rule that comes close to being broken there is the one that says you can only get credit for 4 freebuilds per episode. And even then you can still post more freebuilds, you just won't get XP for them Quote

I guess I could run into an inconsistency in a future episode depending on what my freebuilds were doing, but I figure I'll just story tell my way around anything like that. I've got like 8 freebuilds floating around in my head, so I want to try and get some out into real bricks! Quote

Sounds perfect, I find it's always better to just keep building than to question whether or not to make a particular build Quote
Kodan Black Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Are freebuilds counted against the beginning or end of an episode? I guess what I'm asking is if I post a freebuild this week is it a 7.x freebuild or an 8.x freebuild? Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 It is still a "7.x" freebuild until the next contest starts Quote
TWP Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (Quote from Avenger topic) Aww my entry has got the least comments... Anyway, thanks for the great episode and I hope we get the results soon! Comment quantity says nothing about quality of the MOC. And I think there are still a few comments to come. Besides, you've made really good builds IMHO. Quote

Thanks, I was only being silly, no comments from BEAVeR yet, he'll probably write more than my whole story!EDIT: And is this a Rebel in the Imperial topic?! Bob De Quatre Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 no comments from BEAVeR yet, he'll probably write more than my whole story! Well he is writing a comment at the moment... Already 4 days that he write non-stop. I wonder if the forum software can handle posts this long... Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Haha! We will find out! And you've changed your pic... And do you know when someone's typing a comment if you're a mod? Edited January 14, 2015 by Lord Tyrus Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 And you've changed your pic... Not much... And do you know when someone's typing a comment if you're a mod? Well, like everyone, you can know when someone is writing in a thread when hovering his name in the "Users browsing this forum" list Quote
Lord Tyrus Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) But that doesn't mean they're commenting... ANYWAY! Thanks, mods for the great episode! Edited January 14, 2015 by Lord Tyrus Quote

BEAVeR Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I feel like I'm being watched... Just be patient. I will get there... eventually. And I'm not the only one writing constructive feedback here. I can honestly say I'm very pleased by how everyone is getting lots of high quality feedback here. Good job guys! A little longer, and everyone will want to join SoNE just to get your awesome feedback. Quote

James Wellington Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I'd really like to join in on this! Can someone place me as a stormtrooper or Imperial TIE Fighter Pilot, please? I'm not quite sure what a "sigfig" is, but I'll me happy to make one/take a picture of my personal Imperial Minifig, if that's what it is. Thanks! Ready to serve the Empire! Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Consider yourself officially signed up James! If you can post a picture of your personal minfig then you'll be ready to go. That's all that a sigfig is. Quote
James Wellington Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Ah, thank you so much! I'll take a pic of my personal minifig. Quote
Commander Smith Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I'd like to join with the Rebels, please. Can I post a sig-fig with clone armor, or helmet? Or is that too close to Imperial Fashion? P.S. Rebel Trooper. Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I think you can write a story that explains why you own Clone Trooper armor. You should do so and build an MOC to go with it and then post it as a freebuild. Welcome to the Rebel Alliance! Quote
Commander Smith Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hm...can't get the signature code to work. Suggestions?S Quote
Commander Smith Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Oh, yes, and where exactly would I post an MOC backstory for my avatar (My SONE one)? Quote
BEAVeR Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi, Commander Smith! Freebuilds should be posted in the general Star Wars forum. "Watto's Junkyard" is only for entries for the actual contest (meaning: the episode entries). Don't worry though, I moved your topic for you. Welcome to SoNE! Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hm...can't get the signature code to work. Suggestions?S It looks like your signature is working, it just needs the picture. If you are using a photo hosting site like Flickr, just get the url for a 100x100 version of the picture and input it in the signature generator. I hope that helps! Quote
Commander Smith Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Just like a link, like "fli.kr/p/sdfsblahblah"? Because, as you can see, it's not exactly right.... I edited it on flikr to 100x94 px. Quote

It should look like this... https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7579/16336974572_88eab403fc_t.jpg Underneath your picture on the far right click the icon for "download this photo" then "view all sizes" pick the thumbnail 100x100 size, right click and select copy image url Quote
