Before more builds are posted, please remember that 3rd party parts are only allowed on your personal sig fig (and this exception should be used very sparingly). All other parts in the build must be LEGO parts.

Hey all - this is officially my 500th post!  I wanted to post it here, as it's the SoNE community that's really drawn me into Eurobricks, and gotten me back into building MOCs these last few years.

A huge thanks to all the judges and mods who keep the game going, and to all the awesome players who continue to come up with amazing builds and stories.  

Special thanks to:

•  @BEAVeR - your thoughtful and detailed comments on my early builds really helped me hone my skills, and were a great encouragement to keep trying new things.
• @goatman461 - having a 'nemesis' for my character has helped me to expand and flesh out his story, and it's been really great collaborating with you on stories and builds.

Finally, thanks(ish) to Disney for ensuring that we'll have new Star Wars stories to explore for many, many years to come...

I apologize for double-posting, but I have a question for future entries. The rules are pretty clear about no 3rd party parts and goatman further clarified this at the top of this page; however, as I am learning more about lighting, I came across products like LifeLite. I figure that they probably count as unauthorized 3rd party items and therefore cannot be used in builds, but then again, if I am illuminating my build with a flashlight and other stuff to create moody lighting, isn't that using non-lego products to my advantage just as well? I was just wondering where to draw the line. I understand that there are official Lego LED lights, though afaik their uses are far more limited than what other brands offer.

I was wondering, could I use whatever LED lights I have and add them to my build for lighting purposes, as long as they are not visible (i.e., attach an LED lamp underneath or behind transparent bricks to act as a lightsource)? And if so, does this apply to Lego-like stuff like LifeLite as well or only "normal", non-Lego and not compatible lighting systems that don't come in brick form?

Alright @Cody Startale and everyone else, we're fine with the use of any 3rd party lights as long as they have no other function in the build other than to add to the atmosphere. This would exclude a custom light-up lightsaber because that's a prop used as part of the build. However, LEDs that shine through a cavity/transparent brick, off-scene mood lighting, or anything else used for the purpose of providing light is no problem.

I also have a question for future entries concerning freebuild locations. Are we allowed to build on planets not listed (such as Geonosis, Scarif, Jedha, etc) for Xp. points or would anything outside the planet list be considered non-canon? 

Apologies in advance if this has already been answered.

The core rules mention that you can make a freebuild in a "neutral" location and then proceeds to list the planets claimed by the Empire or Alliance, so I believe that any planets other than those would count as "neutral locations" since they are not claimed by any faction and should therefore be eligible to earn you up to 4 XP.

Cody's got it exactly! If it's not listed then it counts as a neutral planet and is eligible for up to 4XP.

Okay, I hate to bust in but is it too late to join Shadows of Nar Eurbrickka? I just haven't seen many recent submissions while causally stalking but it looks really fun!

It's never too late! SoNE has always been a smaller group of players compared to some of the other Role Playing Games on EB like Guilds of Historica or Andromeda's Gates. So we usually have fewer recent posts than most forums. However, that doesn't mean it's quite around here, it just means we are all building! If you can included a 100x100 picture of your character I'll add you to the index.

A hologram appearance would count to allow your build to be judged.

I've been looking at previous episodes and I guess my first one is in January. Anyone know of some decent photo editing softwares that aren't too expensive? I figure I'll get myself one for Christmas.

Welcome to SoNE, 8-Bit Ramen! Always interesting when people choose the side they know is wrong to make it interesting

The standard free photo editing software is GIMP. I use it all the time and it's quite easy to work with and pretty performant, even though I can't really compare it to professional software. If you need help with something, I'm happy to help.
