lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Now be realistic, no major character from CW or SW (PT or OT) would be included in a BP, they made that mistake almost a decade ago. Though I do agree a scout trooper pack would be good (OT - ROTJ) and a Wookie BP is another good idea. May the brick be with you ! Quote
TeufelHund Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I'm only interested in OT: Sand Troopers (Different shoulder pauldrons, weapon variety + maybe that informer humanoid with the mini-trunk face - a dew back would be awesome but maybe too big for a standard battlepack). Imperials (Officer, Death Squad trooper + 2 x stormies would be fine). Bounty Hunters (cheap way to get Boba in one pack along with any of Bossk, IG-88, Dengar, 4-Lom, Zuckas etc) Jabba's Retinue (Bib Fortuna, Gamoreans, Inerogation Droid, Twilek dancer etc) Quote
KimT Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 For reasons most secret, I'd die for some Tatooine BPs. Jawas, Tusken Raiders and Sandtroopers But I guess that's off the grid for now as it seems Clone Wars is the big seller and the OT is a little 'old' when it comes to picking sets to produce. Damn kids Quote
Fives Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I think it would be awesome if TLG made BPs with multiple different ways to be built. Say the set seen on the front of the box is a speeder, but you look on the back and there are two different models to make from the same parts. And in the instructions, all three are included, so multiples of a BP wouldn't mean multiples of that particular vehicle. It would make variety in armies way bigger, and I think people would love the idea. It would be like they are getting three little sets for the price of one. Quote

Fives Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 The return of alternate models is something we all want, but I think TLG has decided it's not worth the extra costs. Why would it cost so much more? All they would have to do is come up with a couple more designs for the BP and then print the instruction booklets with more instructions. I think not only AFOLS would go for this, but parents and kids as well. Most parents don't want to spend too much on a LEGO set and if the get a BP with three designs then they will feel like they are getting more, and kids can build it one way, play with it for a while, and then build it another way just for fun. TLG would do so well with this. Quote

Working on alternate models that won't increase the price is time that could be used to develop a different set that'd also be bought anyways. Quote
DarthR2-D2 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 OK. Episode I Gungans v. Battle Droids Naboo Guards v. Droidekas Episode II Jedi General and Clones v. Geonosian and Battle Droids (Geonosis) Episode III Wookiees, Kashyyyk Troopers, Galacitc Marines, 501st Troopers Episode IV Rebel Troopers v. Stormtroopers, Death Star Troopers, Imperial Officers Episode V Bespin Guards v. ?Something? Episode VI Endor Commandoes, Scout Troopers, Ewoks, Gamorrean Guards, Palace Guards, Skiff Guards And in addition, maybe little $10 sets, not BPs, but sets. Like maybe Forward Command Center (Ep 2) or Bith Band (Ep 4). Quote
JCC1004 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 If TLG follows the PT, OT pattern we should be getting an OT Battle Pack in 2012. We've already gotten Fleet Troopers and Hoth Troopers for the Rebels and Stormies and Snowtroopers for the Imperials. All that is left is Endor Commandos for the Rebels and Scout Troopers and Officers for the Imperials. Unless TLG would do a pilot pack. Either would be nice but I would prefer Endor packs over Pilot Packs. The Endor Commandos would probably have an Ewok included and hopefully at least a torso variant among the commandos. If they don't follow the pattern 2012 will probably see Naboo Security Forces and Battle Droids from the 3D Release of TPM. The BD's would be meh but the Naboo Security forces would be a dream come true. Then again it could be Gungans or a mix of both in one set which would be okay with me. Quote
Smack Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Honestly I think we see Endor Battle Packs for both rebels (commandos and ewoks) and the Empire (scout troopers and officers) in 2012. The battle packs seem to alternate between OT and the Clone Wars and next year would be the OT year, especially with 2013 being the 30th anniversary of ROTJ. Just my 2 cents. Quote

Yeah, that's what most of us are thinking, too. But I think that we also need an Imperial Naval Trooper to accompany an Imperial Officer and two scouts in the Imperial Pack. They've only appeared in expensive sets thus far. Quote

I do agree on this point but do you think that the Naval trooper would be included in a themed battle pack or could they be in other (hopefully cheaper) sets in the future? (2012 sets or beyond?) Supersonic Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I really hope there'll be stormtroopers in the Imperial Endor BP. They're really hard to come by these days and nearly all the Endor sets ignore them (except for the 2001 Ewok Attack). What we need less of are Scout Troopers. I'm hoping for one Scout, two Stormies and a Navy Trooper. A speeder bike and a small non-canon station (as seen in the Snowtrooper BP) as accessories. For the Rebel Endor BP, I hope there will be one or two Ewoks in it. You don't need many Endor rebels for a big BoE diorama, you need loads of Ewoks. Quote

Damn kids Tatooine battlepack would rock. I'm down with the Jawas! Anakin does have a thing about Tuskens... there's always the chance that they might get reintroduced in the Clone Wars series? But you're right... LEGO have merely dabbled with the Tatooine theme and never really explored it as much as they could or should have and now Clone Wars has most of the attention. And because Clone Wars is centre of attention, I reckon we may be closer to getting a generic Jedi battlepack. As to who would face of against them, there's still some droids we've not seen in LEGO or in battklepacks, such as commando droids or magna droids... that'd be cool. Quote

Well I'm not interested in having an Endor Diorama. I have 24 Rebel Fleet Troopers, 16 Hoth Rebel Troopers, and only 2 Endor Rebel Commandos. I need to army build them! They only came in one $100 dollar set which is now the oldest SW set on S@H. The Endor Commandos go for around 9 bucks each on Bricklink, who can afford to army build at that price? I don't want loads of Ewoks, how many variants can they make of them? After combining my 3 from The battle of Endor and the 2 from Ewok Attack I'll be set. Edited March 15, 2011 by JCC1004 Quote
lego wonkyeye Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 How about a clone wars geonosian battle pack and special ops trooper battle pack. The geonosian BP could include a small cannon and a speeder with a geonosian drone, two geonosian warriors and an undead geonosian. The special ops trooper BP could include some flame throwers and maybe part of destroyed gunship. The minifigs included would be commander Jet, a special ops trooper, a special ops ARF trooper and a special ops flame marine. (Sorry if these have been said). Quote

UsernameMDM Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I'd rather not have ewoks in a battle pack. I'd rather rebel commandos with two different torso prints (3 commanders, 1 w/camo poncho & 1 leader). As for Imperials, 2 biker scouts, a stormtrooper and an officer would be cool. Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I was gonna say mandalorian battle pack but we have that now. I must say I expected cooler mandos instead of just 4 of the same... In order of how much I want them: Gungan battle pack: Boss nass, Captain Tarpals, 2 gungan guards, kaadu and catapult Geonosian battle pack: Poggel the lesser, 3 geonosians, chariot, turret Mandalorian battle pack redesign: 4 mandos all different colours (Red, blue, green and white) with turret and heavy blasters. They would never put as big a character as Boss Nass (no pun intended ) into a BP, same with Poggle the Lesser. Captain Trpals I could see, due to the fact we got Zev Senesca in 2010's Rebel BP. lego wonkyeye Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 How about a Nightsister and Nightbrother(?) Battle Pack. Nightsister: 3 hooded NS (Nightsisters) and 1 unhooded, along with a small speeder (Maybe like the sith nightspeeder) and a cauldron. Nightbrother: 1 NB with chest showing and 3 clothed, along with some things for battle practise. Thats all! Quote
Mr Man Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 As I put in the other topic, but probably more relevant here. How about two commando BP's- Clone: Delta Squad (All 4 with correct paint jobs), DC-17m Rifles x2, DC-17m Heavy Weapon, and DC-17m Sniper rifle. A piece of wall to snipe from, and a mini turret. (Or 4 generic CC's). Droid: 4x BX Droid commandos, vibrosword x1, Sniper Rifle x1, E-5 x2 and hand-held energy shields x2, and two STAP's Quote

I really would like to get a battle pack with some generic brown ewoks and one "character" like Paploo or Wicket, but that is mainly because you need much more Ewoks than Rebels; an Endor Rebel battle pack would be awesome as well, and seems much more likely, but the 3 Ewoks from a 100 € set and 2 very special Ewoks from a 27 € set make building a proper Ewok village/Endor dio really difficult. Well, as long as the Imperial battle pack doesn't contain more than 1 scout I'm happy Quote
Silverface Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I think there is all of those in some form! Quote
