so the gear swap on the motors was not that great. I didn't even have enought torque for flat carpet at that point. I am wondering if someone could share some ideas on how to speed it up without sacrificing torque? Or maybe putting in a 2-speed gearbox so it can be switched from high mode to low mode as needed?

The XL motors is the only way I can think of doing that.

In case anyone wants to play with LDD model, here's my LXF:

LXF file

Awesome, thanks that will help me convert my latest mod of my 41999 to LDD. When I do finally dismantle it, I want it digitally recorded. I will be posting pictures of it soon...

The XL motors are much bigger than the standard L motors. If you search on Google, you will be able to find XL motor mods for 9398 which has exactly the same axles, so will be the same modifications.

So here it is, my first mod for the 41999. Not sure if you can really call it a mod, it's more of a... thing. Anyway, maybe some people remember the Enforcer, my entry for the Technic competition which came second to rm88's Boss. It was only a matter of time before I decided to try to recreate it using the 41999 so I did. However I added a few 'modifications' using parts from my 8455 backhoe loader.

Firstly, an excavator bucket has been added to the front bumper for a more 'evil' appearance. Secondly, a wheel powered cannon has been mounted in the rear bed. It can be raised, lowered and ammo can be fed by pneumatics and the cannon is just two rapidly spinning wheels powered by a geared up M motor with a clutch gear to stop me blowing up the motor in the event of a jam.

So here it is, I like to call it the 'Boss-forcer Devastator'.

Ok so originally it was a 9398 and not a 41999 - but here's Retro-Boss coming to say 'Hello'

Planning on motorising the popup lights - dual function it with a winch and add the original v4 engine in it and power it from the drive-train some how (oh and get those blue seats back in too)

That is really cool, and it still follows the basic idea of a car on a crawler chassis.
