41999 from shop.lego.com - problems, concerns, questions, answers

even if u break the seals and keep the plastic bags unopen to see what number plate u got. it will still be worth a easy 400-500.

I have a hard time believing TLG will never product orange or dark blue parts ever again. But with that said, the 41999 does have some really really nice PF parts like a pair of L motors, a servo motor, and a V2 IR! If I have unlimited funds, I would get a 2nd set of 8110 and 41999 as well.

Not planning a sale, but I know if I break the seals i'll keep the set.

I got it as an afterthougth for blue parts so i'll wait for TLG next movement on that front before deciding it's future. It's hard to tell if other dark blue models are in the pipeline or it is going to be an "esclusive" thing in the Technic line.

I ordered mine out of luck on the 1st of August. I had no idea when the set was going to be released. I just thought the 1st August could be about right, so i contacted the customer support and they sent me a link to order one of the sets.

They also told me that they are CURRENTLY out of stock and that they cant keep up with the orders, so there will be a small delay. Mine was shipped on the 5th of August.

I will leave it untouched and sell it on ebay in 2 years or so :D

Sorry but at least i am honest. Also i ordered only 1 :P

Very curious how much it is going to be worth. Also i really would LOVE to know how many of the normal sets they usually produce.. like the star wars UCS stuff or the other big lego technic sets.

It was available to order for about 5 mins 1 week ago. Sorry but that boat has sailed.

Friend of mine called Lego customer service today asking about when the next orders are shipped. He got told, that they wont get any more 41999 and all open orders will be cancled O_O - Can anybody confirm this?

Well... Min was cancelled.

The order status was changed to "Please Contact Customer Service". I got no notification of this...

I emailed and was told to call. I was unable to get hold of them because landlines are basically extinct in my family and closer friends.

When I contacted them about this I got no reply.

Today I realized I could try the U.S. number through Skype but my order was cancelled because I did not contact the in time.

Needless to say the 41999 is sold out. I won't get one and I certainly won't shop at a store that treats me this way again.

Sad. I really like LEGO, and was looking to start going exclusives.

I just wanted to update as some things has happened since the last post.

First I would like to say that the girl I takled to from U.S. was called Lucy, and while she couldn't actually do anything she was very nice and professional.

A girl from the Swedish customer Service, Lizette, called me and explained the situation to me. I have to admit that I wasn't really receptive of a long explanation with no solution, but after som talking she said she was going to try and order it again, several times telling me it was a test and not a sure thing. Cred to Lizette too for keeping positive in a no-win situation.

So the order has gone from Backorered to In process. Do anyone know if this is good or bad?

As far as telephones go, I seem to have had som bad luck with this. Strange that Tre and only Tre would do this.

From what i know, a person from Bulgaria has already received his prize copy of the 41999 set.

I cannot confirm this 100%, but it seems to me you should've already received it?

After all the suffering with TLG to get one 41999... mine arrive today :'D. The box didn't arrive in good shape (have several marks all around it, thanks to the shipping company) but at least I manage to got it!!!

My wife look at the box, saw how excited I was with it... and then she said "you really like that set... more than the crane that came with it (yes; that one that you bought several years ago but you bought it again staying is not the same because this is a "bigger, newest and better" model ), right?" and confiscate it right away until the wedding anniversary; same thing with my 10227 UCS B-wing.

Need to wait 3 more weeks... >: /

Just got word that the 41999 replacement for my polybaggilated 41999-17104 has arrived. Now I have 2 sets, which is sweet. Will have to figure out what to do with the second set when I return from my travels in November.

Hmm, mine still says "backordered"... and I'll be really pissed if they cancel my order :(

Especially since about a week ago the local Lego store called and said they had received some... I did not pick one up since I had already ordered it online. On the other hand, they reopened ordering several times after I ordered, and counting to 20,000 should not be that hard - I really expect them to fill all orders that went through.
