"Uh, thank you. You mercenaries eh? You work for Julio? He said he wanted to help the poorer folk. Though we've all been waiting for some. That's why we voted for Julio, and his vast experience in leadership. You wanna know what's what? There is a tavern and an inn behind you. Next to that is the Town Watch, and farther down the street is a few more warehouses, shops, and merchants."

"Thank you, friend, you words have been of great help to me and my allies. We'll go and check out this tavern and see what we can learn."

He turns and gestures towards the inn with his hand, indicating that the others should follow him.

"Come on, this way!"

But as he is nearing the pub's entrance, Haldor notices a shady-looking character standing close by and decides to speak with him.

"Greetings, sir. I am a mercenary from far away, travelling with this group in search of work." The nord points to the other heroes in turn. "This is our first time in the city. What can you tell me about this place, and the kind of jobs I would be able to pick up?"

The man turns, and sees all the armed heroes. He looks a bit angry, annoyed, scared, or all 3.

"Please, I have things to attend to. Now get out of my way."

The man turns and heads into the tavern, and closes the door rudely behind him.

Haldor steps aside as the man comes pushing past.

"What's up with him?"

The nord begins heading towards the inn door after the man. He pushes the door open with one arm and calls back to the party as he does so.

"Let's see if we can't make a start with our reputation-getting, maybe even some drinks and fine women while we're at it."

"You're a man after my own heart Haldor. "

"Maybe we can gather some infomation as well."

The party walks in to find a bar owner and his wife. They're at a table, with some cards. There are stairs in the end of the building leading to the rooms.

​"Ave travelers. What can I do for you? Would you like a drink? A room for the night? Or a round of cards?"

Though the shady man reappears, hearing Haldor's comment.

"You say something about fine women? Let me show you something you'll like, just a cost of 25 gold. Interested?"

"Haldor, this reeks of a trap. Let me do it."

"I have your back, Romulus, if anything happens between you and this man."

"No no no, one at a time. Everyone can get a turn, so who wants to come first?"

Romulus drags haldor to the side. "I can handle myself, and if you don't see me soon, get Mizuki and Xander to track me."

Phoenix Essence – Revives a fallen ally with full health during a battle. Costs 64 gold.

Mead - Causes the encouraged-effect, doubling the target's attack power for the duration of one battle. Costs 25 gold.

Smelling Salts - Causes the hastened-effect, allowing the target to act twice in one round for the duration of one battle. Costs 33 gold.

Haldor then steps forwards and speaks to the bar owner.

"Sir, my friends and I have come far and wide in search of work. What kind of jobs do you think fine folks like us could handle in this city?"

"Armed like you are? Town Watch perhaps, though that may be a bit boring. Have you tried being a gladiator? You can get a ton of fame and glory. Though you better be tough. Some of the men you'll fight will be ex-convicts."

Haldor reaches behind his back with one hand and quietly draws his axe.

"We need to stop them. It's Bacari. He used to be a hero, but went rogue. He tried killing me when he was working for the Croise in Charis, and now he seems to be running a criminal organisation, or at minimum a prostitution ring. I tried taking him down, but was outmatched in the two vs one brawl. We need to stop him. "

Romulus quickly downs yet another Nostrum.

"Bacari? I remember him, albeit faintly. Where is he? Sounds like we're going to have to put the beggar down."

Haldor motions for the other heroes to prepare themselves.

"Lead on, Romulus. Take me to this Signor Bacari."

Romulus leads the party up the stairs towards the the room.

"Hey hey hey! Weapons down! No one can go upstairs into one of my customer's rooms. Put away your weapons or I'll call the Town Watch!"

"You have an international criminal, wanted in a number of countries. He is a murderer and a traitor, and helped the Fantome Croise commit a murder and a coup in Charis. Just his association with your establishment would damage your name, and possibly render you an accomplice"

Haldor smiles in what he thinks is a comforting way.
