Sort of different angle and lighting.

From a mexican auction site.

Right here. There's a back view too.

Nice finds. Basically what I expected for the back head printing, but it's still good looking. :classic:

These leaked Homer and Flanders figs are great. I agree that the heads look a bit large...but just like Iron Man, I think figures "in hand" will not dissapoint.

Doing the Simpsons makes so much sense. One - the longest running American Primetime scripted series ever. Everyone who loves LEGO, whether a crusty old AFOL, a punk-of-a-Tween-FOL, or just a kid who doesn't know the "labels" but loves a good build ---they've all had the chance to see the Simpsons.

Not to mention they've been syndicated in, like, ALL the languages. In some ways this license makes more sense than Hockey or the NBA. Both of those have some global reach. But the Simpsons reaches out to humanity. I, for one, can't wait to see the iconic opening sequence rendered in LEGO.

Also, they are yellow.

I would have preferred a "this sculpted head fits over the minifig head" approach, but I knew it wouldn't happen. But I have to say, I don't care...I may not have seen an episode of the show in years, and I may not buy but one or two blind bags...but Mr. Burns or Lenny, or Marge or whoever I happen to get...they'll always have a spot at Jabba's table. (My collection thrives on apocrypha!)

Well after a few days to sink in I'm finally okay with them. It's not how I would have done it, but they don't look bad overall.

And I'm glad Lego got this license. It hopefully means they'll try more adult oriented sets in the future. We all complained when they turned down Serenity as a set, maybe this is a good first step towards more adult type sets.

I like them. A lot. I expected molded heads like this and I'm not disappointed. The head do look big but like others have already mentioned the Simpsons characters are quite out of proportions. It's a shame hair pieces can't be removed (and I'm not the only one who thought that CMF Grandpa piece is for Homer) but I love the details of the heads.

I simply cannot wait for the house (hope it's big and detailed even if expensive) and the rest of the characters.

The ned minifigure looks goo but homer doesnt look the same with the flat torso. I was expecting a mold giving homers belly more of a punch.

Modding Ned's head into Al's shouldn't be to hard, right Just2Good?

Indeed! The hair is a problem for that, though, but still!

Eh, I'm really hoping they don't do a molded torso for Homer. He's not that fat. The can just put belly printing, but even that shouldn't be excessive.

I agree the 'fat' mold doesn't really need to used with Homer. Maybe Comic Book Guy or Barney but I don't think Homer is that big.

I really don't mind how they have done Homer and Ned, I think it looks fine. I just can't wait for the house, does anyone have any idea when we will see any info or pictures on the house?

Apparantely it's a D2C, so I'm sure we'll first see info in a LEGO fan event, most likely next year.

Thank you :classic: , but to be quite honest I didn't think i'd have to wait until then. :cry_sad:

I feel you. This is my most anticipated theme for 2014, and probably my most hyped up theme since the Toy Story 3 wave of sets in 2010. I love the look of the Ned and Homer figures! :classic:

I'm starting to wonder if LEGO or Fox will do a special announcement for this license like LEGO did with the LOTR/Hobbit license in December 2011. If they do, we'll see official pictures soon. And, I really don't see why they wouldn't. It would be good publicity as it's bound to be featured on non-AFOL sites. :sweet:

That would be great! Anything to see pictures early.

I can't believe so many people like these! I'm hoping they're fake. It looks too (dare i say it) mega-blocks-esque. I would have preferred non-molded heads and new hair pieces.

I must admit though; I am looking forward to the house. Good colours hopefully :sweet:

Well if you don't like the minifigures you could always just use the legs and torso and then just make a custom head. But personally I like them

Hmm, the heads do seem pretty big, but I'll get used to them. Maybe they would look better on Woody-type figs, with the regular figs reserved for the kids. I actually think a Bombur-style torso could fit Homer (and other characters) well, but seeing as there are a lot of overweight characters in the Simpsons, I think it's unlikely we'll see so many new moulds/prints. Anyway, looking forward to the torso prints and accessories.

Those look like they're made of completely different plastic and the colors don't match up to me. Ned's brown just doesn't look like reddish brown and Homer's beard looks like it should be medium nougat but upon further inspection I don't think it is. To me it looks like someone took the heads off some action figures and plopped them onto random minifig bodies. Just look at the mold line on Homer's head, which you can just make out in that third picture.

Anyway, I don't really like the way these look and I hope it isn't what we can expect from the real thing.

Remember though, they are prototypes (if they are real).

They are not prototypes, they are perhaps bad prints.

Hey you all, just the other day I was scanning through the licensed forum and decided to go back all the way to page 76, the very first page of this entire forum. On one of the threads I clicked on, someone was talking about how he didn't like the Harry Potter figs going fleshie, and made some kind of reference to the simpsons and Lego. Then the founder admin (Jipay) said this:

" Lol I like this idea of LEGO simpsons... But because of the theme they are talking about in the simpsons (volence, weapons, debts, etc...) I do'nt think this correspond to the idea Lego is having of their toys :( "

I just thought it was really funny how one of the very posts of this forum was about how we would never get Lego simpsons, and here we are, 9 years later and it's becoming a reality!! Just thought it was something nice/ironic to share. Haha

Ha! Reminds me of my posts on a LEGO The Simpsons topic here back in 2009!

I think it's a great idea! Barts hair can be the spikey hair in yellow! :cry_happy:

Ya, I know... I like bringing bzck old topics...

Anyways, you are right. But then again, they're realesing LEGO Prince of Persia, and some of those games are rated M. :hmpf:

Also, if the House set is in the retailer catalog, it must mean it's not a D2C. Drat. I was hoping it would be like $180-$200, but if it's wide release, it will be like $70-$130.

I doubt they'd pull a Millennium Falcon and make it $150 and a wide release.

Wait, the house was in the retailers catalog?
