I have absolutely no idea how reliable this is but it does mention that Series 13 will be a series based on The Simpsons, as part of a drive to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of that series

:classic:

LEGO really needs to revisit the Superhero minifigure series idea, those would fly off the shelves and give us a chance at so many heroes and villains!

Thanks for the news 'Kez'! :sweet:

I guess we can throw that Reddit rumor list out the window, as All About Bricks is usually right about rumors. Well, I'm dissapointed, but hey, at least we're getting LEGO The Simpsons. :classic:

Np, is that news going on a new lego video of yours :wink:

And tbh it will be a shame if we get no Simpsons sets, although I will more than welcome the minifigures :classic:

Unless I already forgot what that post said, can we not assume we're getting sets too?

Huh?

Of course!

I'm sure people will make Cuusoo projects with the figures, so I guess we'll get sets eventually.

Why would a theme aimed at adults, use an extremely child centric way of being sold?

I don't see why they wouldnt make atleast one set, Wouldn't people want a set that they could populate with figures or seomthing..

I'm hoping this will be a May release and sets will come in the Summer (Summer news isn't out yet), but I doubt they would do that...

Hm, interesting rumor, and a plausible one too. The Danish article did say that it was a "small product launch" with possible higher production later on if the theme is successful. They could be testing the waters with a CMF wave and then produce actual sets if the minifigs sell well. This would also eradicate all the concerns about sets that depict adult situations, at least for now. That set rumor list from a little while back did sound very fishy to me.

On the other hand, deskp does have a point. While it is simple to integrate non-licensed CMFs into Lego City and other Lego themes, Simpsons minifigs would be a lot harder to integrate into a layout. And if these are going to be sold in blind bags too, it would discourage the few people who would be interested in Simpsons figs from buying them even more. Plus, if they do produce sets after a CMF line, who would want to buy sets with the main characters in them if they already collected them?

I for one wouldn't mind if this was true. The minifigs are the only thing I'd be interested in in this theme, so if that's all we get that's fine by me. And it would be great if the next CMF waves would be licensed. We really need a collectable Super Heroes minifigs line!

I actually think CMFs will be based on themes from now one (not like LEGO Themes). For example, we'll probably get a re-release one in Series 20, maybe a pirate one, a city based one, Disney one, ect.

For a figure list, I'm guessing we'll get some of these. It's hard to choose just 16...

- Homer

- Bart

- Marge

- Lisa

- Maggie

- Chief Wiggum

- Ralph Wiggum

- Apu

- Smithers

- Mr. Burns

- Moe (look at that, now we can get him!)

- Abe

- Milhouse

- Ned

- Nelson

- Principal Skinner

- Edna Krabbaple

- Krusty

- Itchy

- Scratchy

- Dr. Nick

There's many more. :sceptic:

...as part of a drive to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of that series

:classic:

The article said that, but it's 25th for the original series.

Just seen your video Justin, and positively fuming right now! If Lego are making Simpsons sets, then to not release them to a UK Audience is frankly obsurd and a really stupid marketing decision. Whats the point of having minifigures without sets for playability or display? If Lego do leave the UK out of the Simpsons System Sets, then I am tempted to stop collecting. Excluding a whole range from a country is not cool. :'(

Aw thanks! :classic:

When AAB said the thing about the theme not being in the UK doesn't mean it's not getting released everywhere else and the UK will not get them, they just meant that they didn't see it in the UK catalog, which means they said that to not exclude the possibility of there being Simpsons sets.

I would of left that part out if I were them to avoid confusion, or at least be a little more specific. :classic:

Why would they do that ?! I live in the UK and have been very exited about these rumoured sets :cry_sad: If that is the case though I can just order them of somewhere like ebay... can't I ?

Exactly how I feel. If that was the case, Ebay would be extremley expensive. I doubt Lego would make such a foolish move, but times are changing. :cry_sad:

The last time I remember this happening with Space Police III (I'm not sure if it has happened since) the sets were still available through LEGO Shop@Home and brand stores, just not retailers. It could be like Galaxy Squad too, and just have a later release. :classic:

Keep in mind the rumored set list was supposedly from a retail guy in the UK.

Aw, well thanks! :purrr:

To be honest, I doubt they'll do those specific six you mentioned. Snake, Bumble Bee Guy, and Frink are not regulars of the show though they do appear frequently (Frink is probably the most likely of those six). Sea Captain really infrequent of a character. Duff Man is not a regular and is representing a beer company in the show specifically. See, they might be able to pass off Moe, especially in regular clothes as he doesn't always appear bartending and is a regular on the show. As awesome as Fat Tony would be, he's not that frequent of a character and is a member of the mafia (though, I guess someone might bring up the Series 5 gangster).

Np, always happy to subscribe :classic:

And they probably won't do those specific ones you highlighted, although I was sort of trying to compare them ones to the ones we have had in the CMF line such as the bee lady; the male scientist; the series 10 sea captain; the series 5 gangster; the motorcycle mechanic has a tattooed arm and bears a slight resemblance IMO and for some reason duff man reminds me of the series 1 wrestler. Either way I can't wait to see official Images and I really hope that these will be available to the Uk (maybe lego exclusive to start off with) :classic:

(Comic book guy could be added to the list although he'd be a perfect Comic Con exclusive  )

Very true, there are a lot of relations to The Simpsons characters and CMFs. Also Abe is very much like the Grandpa figure, because they're both... Grandpas.

I'm guessing will see pictures of the line in late February, or even at the Toy Fair. If it's a May release (which is what I'm guessing), I doubt we'd see it at the New York Toy Fair. just2early

That article said the Simpsons minifigure line would be to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary, but it premiered in 1989 so it would actually be the 25th anniversary, not 20th. As an obsessed Simpsons nut I just wanted to get the facts right.

Also, realizing that the show has been on the air for 25 years just made me feel really, really old. Dang. :cry_sad:
