just2good Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I'm guessing the Simpsons house will include Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa, Maggie, Grampa and Santas little helper. They could even include Snowball II. From that I'm guessing that at least Grampa, Maggie and Santas little helper are exclusive. Now each CMF wave has 16 figures so I think they will include, Moe, Wiggam, Apu, Mr Burns, Millhouse, Skinner, Krusty the Clown, Barney, Smithers, Nelson, Lenny and Carl with the last four being Homer, Bart, Marge and Lisa. I'm worried about them not including SLH in the House set. D2C sets never have exclusive molds (right?), and SLH will definitely require a new mold. I also hope Maggie is in the CMF Series with a new mold and the House set, and not just in the House set (I would much rather have a new mold than her legs made out of individual pieces). If they do it like that, they might be able to include a different face printing in both (one with the pacifier and one without). Maybe they'll have Ned in the House set and not in the CMF Series. He'll probably have exclusive printing but no new molds. They can pull of his hair with a brown version of the widow's peek piece or the smoothed combed hair piece. Grandpa is going to definitely need a new molded head, but I'm sure he'll get it and be in the CMF Series. I don't think they'll do Lenny and Carl, or even Barney. They're not really the most interesting characters towards kids (maybe Barney, but he's a flat-out alcoholic). I'm really surprised (yet happy) that they're including Moe. I'm not sure they'll do Nelson because he's a bully, but I guess it's possible. Don't forget that Itchy and Scratchy will be in the CMF Series. My biggest concern for this business model is that they'll price most consumers out of getting the house. Personally, if it's 40-50 dollars, I'm considering buying the house, any higher than that and it won't make it in my budget. I like the Simpsons, there's just so many sets coming in themes I enjoy more. I think a non-AFOL Simpsons fan just won't drop the cash on it if it's a hundred dollar set. There's novelty and then there's reality. Oh, please no. They can't pull it off with it being $50. The cheapest they can do is probably $75 (the new price for the Olivia's House set), but I really think they'll make it $150+. I'm thinking they'll make it something like the Haunted House set ($180), but I would really love it to be $200 with like 2500ish pieces and 8 minifigures. I never buy D2Cs, but this is something I'm willing to fork the money over for on the day of release. Believe me, diehard fans/collectors of The Simpsons are willing to buy expensive things. From what I've seen on The Simpsons collector community on YouTube, they buy $180 Kidrobot cases everytime a new one comes out among other expensive collector things. If it's just one set, I'm sure they wont mind too much. I'm not sure when I read that that it's necessarily a D2C big-expensive-model house. All it says is that the only set being released in the UK will be available only from LEGO. Keep in mind that there have been other themes only available from LEGO in the UK in the past. We also still have no word on US anything. They might be releasing that entire rumored list of sets we got before, for all we know. I'm sure this is also the plan for the US. The rumor list cannot be true for the UK but true for the US as the rumor list originated in a UK catalog. To me, CMF Simpsons is incredibly exciting news! There are far, far more figures I want compared to sets. And they can still make sets! So it's not an "either-or" situation. And what if this line really takes off? I would love to see MORE waves of CMF Simpsons, i.e wave 1, 2, 3, etc, to incorporate more characters and the awesome variants (Treehouse of Horror series, please!), and if there were any way they could throw in some Futurama, I'd be thrilled! (not likely, but a fan can dream, right?) As for all of the teeth-gnashing people are doing, calm down please! TLG has mentioned backing off on how many waves of CMF they do in a year, this could be seen as a way to break up the lull between releases. IIRC, TLG has NOT officially called this wave 13, only the fans have! This could still be an independant wave mixed in among the actual releases. So until TLG officially calls this wave 13, please calm down. CMF Simpsons aren't replacing the regular CMF's any more than any other product they release is. As for the figures themselves, I hope they are full 3d sculpted heads with noses. There was a blocko(?) series released about a decade ago by another company where they were cylindrical heads with printed faces, and they looked awful! Yes, this seems to be my most hyped up LEGO product since the Toy Story 3 sets! Like Mr. Nipper said, if these sell well, they'll amp up production. That can either mean they'll produce more copies of the CMF Series (hmmm, a long lasting CMF Series?) or new sets/series overall. I would LOVE to see a Treehouse of Horror CMF Series for Series 17 in September 2015. It's true! Think about it this way- it will keep ideas for generic CMF Series fresh! Okay, well, I wouldn't want 3D molded heads with noses. I would just like printed heads (some molded, like Bart's, whereas his would be basically a minifigure head connected with no spaces to his spikey hair) without noses. It's gonna be hard to pull off, but I have faith in you LEGO! You pulled off Toy Story figures (though those had noses for the most part)! You should aslo note that for molds not intended for alot of use, I am sure they use cheaper molds than the ones they use for say the 1x2 brick that they never stop producing. Yeah, look at the Toy Story line. It seems like they are willing to make a lot of cheap new minifigure molds for licensed stuff. Quote
kermit Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Does anyone have any ideas as to how maggie will be portrayed in minifigure form considering she is a baby. I am going to assume that she might be one molded piece with with the separate head. Quote

I am going to assume that she might be one molded piece with with the separate head. I've said it before, but I really think they'll do it with a regular torso, the head the same way they did with Lisa (but with different printing), and the legs would be a new mold kind of like how they did it with the squid minifigure legs/mermaid legs/ect. just2good Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Do you think they can use the chihuahua mold from the CMF but with new printing for Santa's Little Helper? Good thinking! It is actually really possible! I'd much rather them have him as a new mold with a CMF (throw him in with the Marge figure and that can be her accessory), but it's not that unfitting to use that mold! Of course, the size will be off, but the printing would make up for it. Quote
Canada_7 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 This is what happens when you don't come to Eurobricks often enough. You miss news like this. Really hope it doesn't disappoint. Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I am really looking forward to a D2C Simpsons house. I hope they put the cellar and the attic in the set as well as all the other rooms (of course if they make it a big D2C that is). It is a D2C so it could be quite a large set. At least that's what I'm hoping for anyway. Quote
Infernum Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 D2C sets never have exclusive molds (right?), What? Really? I never thought about that, but I really can't think of any off the top of my head... Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 It's been really quite here lately... Anyway when do you think we will see pictures for this rumored D2C set ? Quote
just2good Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 It's been really quite here lately... Anyway when do you think we will see pictures for this rumored D2C set ? I simply cannot wait, but I'm not sure. April is a weird release month for a D2C. I'm guessing January, at a con, three months before like Orthanc. If LEGO was at NYCC this year, I'm sure we would have seen it there with the CMFs. But I'm not sure. Quote
kermit Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Are there any other lego events for the year that it could possible be revealed? Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) Are there any other lego events for the year that it could possible be revealed? Yea, BrickCon is on October the 5th. :-) Edited September 29, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote
tedbeard Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Yea, BrickCon is on October the 5th. :-) Not just BrickCon. I believe there is an event in Australia AND Europe next weekend as well. Three events on the same weekend on three continents. I have to think something fun will be unveiled. Quote
deskp Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Not just BrickCon. I believe there is an event in Australia AND Europe next weekend as well. Three events on the same weekend on three continents. I have to think something fun will be unveiled. Yeah hopefully soemthing proper lisenced... But lego has ALOT of sets made for the lego movie, and thats releasing in February isn't it? seems likely they would show of soem of that? Either way october is usually a reveal month for lego isnt it? Quote
Spider-Man Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Either way october is usually a reveal month for lego isnt it? Typically yes because retail catalogues usually go out and my guess would be that TLG knows that the pictures will be leaked inevitably so they usually step in and reveal some stuff first. Here's to hoping! Quote
tedbeard Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 And apparently Jamie is coming to BrickCon for the reveal. Not sure if that means it is something he worked on but here's hoping. Quote
korpen4444 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 This is going to be I line that I have no interest in. And if the rest of the CMF theme is going to be Simpsons,(god forbid) Then I'm not buying a pack after series 12. this would be a bad move by Lego(at least for me). Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 The thing revealed was the Parisian Restaurant from the Creator Expert line. No Simpsons -Sci Quote
just2good Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 The thing revealed was the Parisian Restaurant from the Creator Expert line. No Simpsons -Sci I'm not expecting the D2C House to be revealed this year. I think they'll reveal it at the same event they revealed the Palace Cinema last year, as they already revealed next year's modular. I guess we'll only get one D2C in January/February 2014 (the Measerk ship) and instead get a D2C in April (The Simpsons House set). Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Since when is everybody all jumpy about it being a D2C? When was this said? Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 And despite a list of proposed LEGO sets hitting the likes of Brickset and Bricks & Bloks, we can confirm that the *only* LEGO set to be launched in the first quarter of 2014 in the UK will be the Simpsons House, which is set to be made available direct to consumers (via the LEGO website and LEGO stores) in April 2014. -Sci Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 That doesn't mean that it is modular sized, however. It just means that it'll be only available in the UK through LEGO, and that would not be the first time this has happened with normal sets. Quote

It just means that it'll be only available in the UK through LEGO, and that would not be the first time this has happened with normal sets. Yeah, I guess. I just think it would make sense for them to do one D2C set (worldwide) for The Simpsons House. I would love for it to be like the Haunted House set, but they could pull it off with it being the size of the Winter Village Cottage. I think the UK part is because the news comes from UK, and I'm sure it applies to world releases. But, like I always say, only time will tell what this set will be like.. Quote
Legoman123 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Well if the Simpson's house is going to be the only set available in the UK, and it is a D2C, then I think there is an extremely high chance that it will be a large set, as it is the only set. Quote

All that was said in the text was that the Simpsons house will be the only Simpsons set available in the UK for the first quater of 2014. All that means is that exactly like Lone Ranger, Galaxy Squad and Lord of the Rings is that, America will most likely get the sets first. As far as I see it the Simpsons house is a regular set which won't be available in Stores where I live until later in the year. All of the rumoured sets are most likely true as well. Quote
