TheLegoDr Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Thanks for sharing. Kudos to you for spending that much on a couple of heads. They do look better in your pictures than the original listing, but in still not sold. Ned looks better, but Homer looks too large still. The comparison helps, but if still prefer a little smaller. Obviously they aren't changing them more, so I'll wait until official pictures come out to change my mind. I agree though, I am underwhelmed by a lot of early 2014 sets. Quote
deskp Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It might be a case of getting used to it. Also when we see the whole series of figures together it might seem more normal. Quote

Agreed I remember when the prototype Iron man figure was shown at Comic con. Everyone said the helmet was too large but now everyone thinks it's ok. Personally I think the heads are fine , I couldn't really see the heads looking any different when the Simpsons theme was announced. Can't wait to see what the full figure looks like. Quote

Oky Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Wow, those heads are huge. If you don't count his hat, these are even bigger than Woody's head. That's just wrong. Yes, the Simpsons in the show do have big heads, but they're not almost twice the size of their torsos which is the case here. Woody had an excuse since his head is indeed big in proportion to his body in the movies, and so did Iron Man due to the flip-up mask. These on the other hand are proportionally wrong and there is no apparent reason for that. I'll try to stay optimistic, though, and hope that the final figs will look better. Thanks for the pics. GregoryBrick Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 These on the other hand are proportionally wrong and there is no apparent reason for that. I may have already mentioned it in this thread, but what's less important than the heads being proportional to the bodies is having the features in proportion, and possibly having the heads in proportion to each other. The heads are already constrained by having to accommodate the neck stud, and given that that dimension is fixed, it wouldn't be too difficult to establish what a minimum size for the heads is. Couple that with constraints on making heads which can be released satisfactorily from molds and which can be printed to the required level of detail, then I see no reason to think LEGO sized the heads they way they have for bad reasons. If you want to compare them to the Toy Story heads, Buzz and Woody's heads are relatively cylindrical, whereas Simpson heads have a lot of variation in their depth around the central axis. Quote
splatman Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Is Ned's hair removable? It looks like it is. Does Woody's hat fit? (Would look funny, though.) Quote
just2good Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Is Ned's hair removable? It looks like it is. Does Woody's hat fit? (Would look funny, though.) It looks like it's removable in the same vein as the Woody hat was, which means you'll have to do that glue melting thing. So yeah, I wouldn't consider it removable. Quote
australopithecine Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I like the heads. Maybe a bit too big for minifigs, but I guess its always possible that the bodies will be more like the Friends line, instead of the traditional minifig. Either way, I can't wait to buy them. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Does anyone think we will see Krusty? Quote

Sam892 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Does anyone think we will see Krusty? I was under the impression that he was mentioned in the news about CMF series. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I was under the impression that he was mentioned in the news about CMF series. Oh right, I wasn't aware of that. I hope that is the case though. Do you have a website that confirms that? Quote
just2good Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Oh right, I wasn't aware of that. I hope that is the case though. Do you have a website that confirms that? Krusty was never confirmed. The only ones confirmed by Nerdly and the first newspaper sources are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Apu, Itchy, Scratchy, Chief Wiggum, and Moe. And then Ned isn't confirmed for the CMF Series or House set specifically, but we know we'll somehow get him. Quote

simonjedi Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I can't imagine we won't get an iconic character like Krusty. In a sane universe, we'd be getting Worker and Parasite Minifigures Quote
legoIgor123 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 What others characters do you think they'll do? Milhouse? Side show Bob? Quote
just2good Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Well if we are getting Itchy and Scratchy, I'm sure we will get Krusty (I hope). Indeed, I'm sure we'll get him! His head mould would be similar to Homer's, but would have different hair moulding. What others characters do you think they'll do? Milhouse? Side show Bob? I'm sure we'll get Milhouse! If this is a one-and-done CMF Series and House set, I don't think we'll get Bob. Especially relating to the nature of the character. Then again, Bob is a very popular character, even with kids (just recently, he was one of the suspects included in the Who Stole Bart's Bar promotion, which was marketed primarily towards kids from what I've seen). In a sane universe, we'd be getting Worker and Parasite Minifigures What the hell is that? Quote

legoIgor123 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Who thinks we will get Mr Burns as he is quite popular? Just trying to think of more popular ones such as: The Simpsons themselves, Ned, Moe, Krusty, Milhouse, Mr Burns, Principle Skinner, Nelson, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Comic book guy Other less popular ones include: Dr Hibbert, Dr Nick, Sideshow Mel, Sideshow Bob, Maude Flanders, Rodd and Todd, Sherri and Terri, Ralph, Willie, Miss Krabapple, Otto Dolph, Patty and Selma, Mr and Mrs Lovejoy, Bumblebee man, Dolph, Duff man, Lenny and Carl, Smithers, Martin, Mr and Mrs Van Houten, Luigi, Mrs Hoover, Jaspa, Kent, Agnes Skinner, Crazy cat lady, Cletus , Chalmers , Kang and Kodus Disco Stu, Eddie and Lou, Fat Tony and gang, Frink, Barney, Herman (one mini figure arm- awesome!!), Itchy and Scratchy, Rich Texan, Moleman, Sea Captain, Troy Mcure, Mayor, Snake, Miss Springfield, Sarah Wiggum. Wow so sorry for super long list. But who of the above do you guys wanna see? Quote

Wow so sorry for super long list. But who of the above do you guys wanna see? Out of the less popular ones that you mentioned, Itchy and Scratchy are already confirmed. Here's what I think who I think we'll get. I based it off of the Kidrobot figure series, which are a lot like the Minifigure theme for another toy, the most recent Butterfinger promotional sweepstakes that's going on, and the Library of Wisdom books. You see, those are all recent character-based promotional material for The Simpsons. For the CMF Series: Homer (obvious- confirmed by Nerdly and the Danish newspapers; I speculate this version will come with a doughnut as the accessory and will have regular eyes unlike the leaked figure) Marge (obvious- confirmed by Nerdly and the Danish newspapers; I speculate this version will come with Santa's Little Helper thrown in and maybe a cooking apron as the accessory) Bart (obvious- confirmed by Nerdly and the Danish newspapers; skateboard should be the accessory) Lisa (obvious- confirmed by Nerdly and the Danish newspapers; Series 11 sax could be the accessory with Snowball, too) Apu (confirmed by Nerdly; appeared in Series 1 of the Kidrobot figures, and the recent Butterfinger promo; the accessory could be a hot dog or milk carton) Itchy (confirmed by Nerdly; chainsaw or mallet should come as the accesories and a mouse tail) Scratchy (confirmed by Nerdly; axe or malleshould come as the accesories and a cat tail) Chief Wiggum (confirmed by Nerdly; appeared in Series 1 of the Kidrobot figures and has his own Library of Wisdom book; accesory will probably be a different colored doughnut and a new color baton) Moe (confirmed by Nerdly; appeared in Series 2 of the Kidrobot figures and has his own Library of Wisdom book; accessory will be tricky... maybe a normal cup and his special apron?) Maggie (speculation by me; I have a really bad feeling that Maggie may not be in the CMF Series and only the House set as a reprint of Lisa's head with pacifer printing and such... if she did appear in the CMF Series, she could come with the E=MC^2 reference printed on a few 1x1 blocks, or Bobo) Krusty (speculation by me; extremely popular character who has appeared in Series 1 and Series 3 of the Kidrobot figures, has his own Library of Wisdom book and is in the most recent Butterfinger promo; accessory should be Mr. Teeny or a Krusty burger) Abe (speculation by me; another essential character- he just appeared in the most recent Butterfinger promo, Series 2 of the Kidrobot figures; not sure what accessory he had) Ralph (speculation by me; though he didn't appear in the most recent Butterfinger promo, he did get his own Library of Wisdom book and two KidRobot figures. I... I guess I just really want Ralph ) Comic Book Guy (speculation by me; got a Series 1 Kidrobot figure, his own Library of Wisdom book, and just appeared in the Butterfinger promo; guessing he'll gome with a comic book accesory) Milhouse (speculation by me; extremely popular character, appeared in Series 2 of the Kidrobot Simpsons stuff, and he was just in the Butterfinger promo; I'm not sure what accessory he'll have... maybe another comic book?) Mr. Burns (speculation by me; extremely popular character, appeared in Series 1 and 3 of the Kidrobot Simpsons figures, in that Coca Cola ad, in the Butterfinger ad- I'm like 90% sure we'll get him; it makes me sad we probably aren't ever going to get Smtihers; not sure what accessory... maybe "the hounds"?) And for the House set, I know we'll get Homer (leaked figure version, hmm maybe with his work suit?) and Ned as leaked eBay figures are never CMFs, and I think we'll get Marge, Lisa (maybe with the blue sax), Bart (wouldn't it be cool if they put him with the blue shirt in this set?), and Maggie. Wow. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 I really hope we see Fat Tony in the CMF series. Quote
