Hmm, I do like that updated head. Too bad it isn't the official size. I don't think LEGO will be changing their molds anytime soon, so we will be stuck with those large heads.

I will have to grab one or two and see it "in hand" to make my final decision, but so far I unfortunately will be passing on this series.

Eh, still like the official head the best. I don't like it with a horizontal shrink, but some vertical shrinks work.

Just2Good, is there printing on the mouth of the first Ned you bought? I didn't recall it from your video but the new full figure appears to have some sort of brown mouth print (that I personally think looks horrible).

I like the bigger size. Nice, detailed, and cartoony!

Nope, it's not on mine, but that's not printing. That's definitely a paint error, and probably how the seller got their hands on the figure (it probably didn't pass the quality test and got disposed of).

Ok that's great news and surprisingly rejuvenates my interest in this theme... I guess I'm easily swayed.

Are these heads hard ABS plastic or soft rubber like some one-off hair pieces?

I'm pretty sure it's hard ABS plastic. Nothing on them is rubber.

EDIT: Did it! :classic:

Justin, if it's not too much trouble, could you please try to take a picture of figures in 1:1 ratio, like seen on top of the boxes? Thank you in advance. :classic:

They're just a little off due to my camera positioning, hence why Homer is a squinge bit taller than Ned.

Thanks a lot! I still had to slightly zoom them, but I can finally imagine how big they actually are. Yes, the heads are oversized compared to the bodies, but it's still small enough and still looks like a minifigure.

Some hairpieces are rubber cause they have small parts that could break easily otherwise. not cause they are one off.

If you compare proportions even though in the cartoon they do have oversized heads and stuff it's still way more oversized than in the show.

Minifigure heads are already over sized quite a bit as is though. 3-3.5 "normal" minifigure heads make up a minifigure body, but proper proportions are 6-6.5 heads on a real person (not including the head itself). If the Simpsons already have fairly over sized heads in the cartoon, and they are being transformed to Lego minifigures which also have over sized heads, then it makes sense they are quite over sized does it not?

EDIT: Here is a diagram of what I am talking about...

Untitled-3.jpg

As you can see a Lego minifigure is roughly half the proportions of a normal human male, except their head is twice as big. The adult Simpson characters are very similar in proportions to Lego minifigures, except their heads are even bigger. If Lego minifigures already have rather large heads, and they are doing a license with large heads then the heads SHOULD be enormous should they not?

Compare with normal minifigrues, the head of rumored Simpson figure actually share the same size of neck stud. We're just used to see normal licensed minifigures whose heads are "shorter" than the Smpsons. If we're not happy with it, we can only "press" the heads.

But rather than size of head, I still hope that there would be removable headgears.

For the figures I got, which I'm sure the heads are final for, the hair pieces aren't removable.

Is there something Ned isn't telling us?

And is there a reason why the house hasn't been revealed yet? Isn't it a January release? Or is it planned to be released the same time as the minifigure series.

Nah, it ain't a January release. It's an April/May release, and a D2C set at that. So it will most likely be revealed at some fan event. And it is meant to coincide with the Minifigure Series.

Thanks just2good, here's to hoping it'll be worth the wait (not that it's much of a wait anyways though). Looking forward to it!

That is a shame - I would have liked to be able to use certain potential hair pieces from the Simpsons elsewhere.

There was no way from the start. They're clearly shaped much differently than normal minifigure heads.

Mnlawesome made a video about the actual Homer Simpson minifigure, they're just pictures.

I've been out all day, but that's from lego*dudes eBay. I bought one earlier. I'll link to it when I come home. :classic:

Oh, my goodness.....a minifig with a short sleeved shirt ? *oh2*

Now I wonder if the other characters will look just as good ?

Finally! short sleeves  I may not like the heads but I'm sure we'll see nice torsos and legs  Oh and of course, pieces! By the way, is the Simpsons house the only set announced?

Seeing the final figure it actually doesn't look bad. The big head actually looks like a natural fit.

And short sleeves printing! Finally!

Yes! You guys like him. That's great. I really want these to sell so we can get more sets! And yes, The Simpsons House is the only set we can expect for 2014 besides LEGO Minifigures - The Simpsons Series. :classic:

Okay, I got settled... Here's the eBay link! Sorry for not posting it earlier.

Wow, he looks great!

I hope this is the CMF version, as I'm sure a lot of people would just like his collared t-shirt.

The short sleeves look nice too, this is a first, right?
