CM4Sci Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 We saw that from another Mexico auction, but thanks anyways. We did? When? -Sci Quote

Sprocket Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Whoa, they're doing Simpsons Lego products? Color me pleasantly surprised. Finally, we'll be able to own our own little Springfield, and the figures will be more pose-able than the old Playmates figures! :D I wouldn't say no to a sound chip in the playset though: half the greatness of the Simpsons will always be it's hilarious quotes, something that Playmates realized right off the bat. We'll see, I guess! Quote
just2good Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Ha, you like to do this. :P -Sci Maybe I try to hard to keep my excitement quiet to keep from being annoying. Whoa, they're doing Simpsons Lego products? Color me pleasantly surprised. We'll see, I guess! World of Springfield! I always wanted those. At this rate though, this theme is causing lots of controversy and people are really mixed. To get to the point of sound chips and more playsets, we gotta buy lots of the CMF packs and a few copies of the House set! Quote
larsyuipo Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) marge and lisa figures! Thanks to the brickqueen Thoughts: Hope they get better legs soon. Can't wait to see bart and maggie Edited December 3, 2013 by larsyuipo Quote
larsyuipo Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'd like to see a set with the upcoming (somewhere in 2014) simpsons and futurama episode. Quote
just2good Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 That's votvik's! He sent me an offer too, but I declined. I didn't think he wanted me to post the pictures of them. He also has Maggie, but he doesn't have a picture of her yet. That is one I would buy. Quote
YangHao6998 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 My first reaction was to Marge was WTF . Her hair is a bit too long and both their face expression looks weird plus they are in their underwear! Hopefully the set(s) won't disappoint. Quote
Floundie Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 hm. I think Homer's head is the only one that translates well to 3D. Quote
Brickity Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 All I can say is... LOL. I don't know how this theme will do, really. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I would say Marge would have a 2x2 slope brick as the bottom of her dress, but Lisa...could be just normal legs with skirt printing on them.....we'll just have to wait and see. Quote
Laservampire Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'm guessing they'd have skirts done like the CMF Bagpiper? Quote
Oky Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Hm, the head size on these looks better somehow, maybe because Lisa is a child and Marge's head is supposed to be tall. However, I do agree that their facial expressions are quite odd. Looks like Marge is another "variation print" version since she seems to be wearing some kind of apron. This is another variation that would make sense in the Simpsons home set, so I hope that's where this version of her will be in. If these apron and tie wearing versions turn out to be the ones in the CMFs, I just might skip this theme all together. Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Wow, those look heaps better than Homer and Ned. -Sci Quote
regardingthepope Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Just a note, but these pictures were taken at very unflattering angles. We are looking up at their overbites, which makes them look very odd, but head-on or looking down, they will probably look much better. I will agree, though, that I am not a fan of the choice of costumes for these characters. Either go iconic or very different, like Treehouse of Horror or something. Quote
just2good Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I will agree, though, that I am not a fan of the choice of costumes for these characters. Either go iconic or very different, like Treehouse of Horror or something. Trust me, I'm so sure these variations will be in the House set, a much harder to get set than the CMF packs. What do I think of these (incomplete) Lisa and Marge figures? Well, they're the best LEGO can do while staying accurate, but at the moment, I am not liking Lisa's head. That is most likely due to the angle the picture was taken, like 'regardingthepope' said, but yeah. Marge looks better, but the mouth is a bit weird. I so wanna see Maggie, darn it! Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I so wanna see Maggie, darn it! Now... will she be a short legged minifig, some sort of new mold for her body with arms, or a 1x1 brick? -Sci Quote
kermit Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I am a bit ticked off that marge`s eyeballs are focused to the side and not straight. Quote
strangely Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Seeing these make me wish they had just gone with regular minifigure heads. It's not that I don't think the sculpted heads look good, they are surprisingly good. My problem is actually that this head style limits them. I mean with a normal minifigure head you can print an endless amount of facial expressions. With these they're kind of stuck other than maybe the eye printing. In order to get different facial expressions they would have to sculpt new heads. That just disappoints me, we'll probably be stuck with these somewhat frowning faces for a while. Or maybe Lego will surprise us and give multiple variations of the molds (Though that's probably to costly to be practical). I also suddenly realized that their height means no standard sized doors for this theme. Edited December 3, 2013 by strangely Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I am a bit ticked off that marge`s eyeballs are focused to the side and not straight. In my opinion we should more than one Marge......we need all her facial expressions.....because of what Homer does. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Homer and Ned work out because their facial hair covers up their mouths, but Lisa and Marge just look freaky. The lips are totally weird, and the eye-style makes them look… odd. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Lisa actually looks decent, but those lips definitely look a tad odd. I don't love Marge due to the eye placement. You'd think they'd want her to look straight ahead. I think the new bodies will come in handy elsewhere, so I may pick them up just for them and toss out the heads, but at the same time I'm more of a licensed skin tone person, so these would be of little use to me also.. decisions, decisions.
