Personally I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. But to those saying how horrible these are looking: I think the actual Simpsons family (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie) look weird in ALL toys and products that have ever been made of them. Action figures, PEZ dispensers, fast food kid's meal toys, and now LEGO. The designs just don't lend themselves to be easily translated from the 2D cartoon world to the 3D physical one. Marge's hair has always had those weird lumps, the spikes on Bart's head are never quite right, and no one has ever come up with a perfect way to create Lisa and Maggie's hair in the real world. So it's not LEGO's fault, they did as well as any other company who've made Simpsons toys in the past. The family just has weird designs that work better on the screen then in plastic. And that's an ok thing!

I think when we see more of the supporting characters more of us will be impressed. Most of them have designs that will easily translate into toys, mainly because they have more conventionally shaped hair. Just by looking at Ned's design, I think the supporting characters in this line are going to blow us away and it is going to be awesome!

In other news, pictures of the Family Guy K'NEX sets are out.

They look terrible... Here's hoping the Simpsons House will look better!

K'nex thought Family Guy would be an appropriate license for a children's toy? Really?

/bogglesatlackofjudgement.

That kinda puts any controversies over the Simpson's and Lego in perspective.

They just came out today. What are you talking about?

First one has an official pic and they've been up on TRU.com for a while now.

Next time don't rely on someone like Brick Show to give you accurate and recent information.

LEGO Simpsons absolutely dominates these figures. I own Ned's head and a complete Homer and they have great detail and charm compared to K'NEX's figures.

Ugh, when I click on the link all I see is a box, and it's yellow and white, did this happen to anyone else? Also, shouldn't Lego avoid those colors since they were both used before? Not that it matters anyways, both lines that used those colors (series 1 an 6) are out of production, and they weren't for this line, they were for the minifigure line. Still, they could have used more original colors, but these suit the line well.

Those aren't terrible, just need to be scaled down a little more, I still think Lego Simpsons will surpass these in quality, despite being a larger Family Guy fan.

k'nex is pathetic. Now their sets are starting to look like cheap megabloks ripoffs let along lego rip offs.

K'Nex used to be a totally different thing. It was rods and pins and things that you could bend to make rollercoasters and that kind of thing. Now it's just a complete ripoff of LEGO with the bricks and figures and all.

Yeah, I've completely lost respect for them. They used to be unique, now they're just a quick cash in on a more successful brand. And the designs to their sets are just lazy. The one thing that has always set Lego apart from the other building block brands is it's look and design. Lego always goes the extra mile and even their lesser sets still manage to look more thought out than these hastily built copies that are floating around.

I can't wait to see pictures of the house. I'm interested to see if they'll make the doorways taller due to the average height of the Simpsons minifigures being taller than normal minifigures.

I hope they won't make taller door ways. Just tested, and Homer fits fine (and even had a fair amount of extra space at the top) through the doors we're used to seeing. Then there's Marge, but I think they won't do it just for her (as goes for making the car bigger just to fit her if it's included in the set).

I highly doubt they'll make the doors taller just for Marge, since they aren't taller for her in the show. When you see Marge go through a door in the show, her hair gets pushed back as she walks through.

As for a car (if we are in fact getting one with the house or if we will ever get a full complete line down the road) that one's tricky. In the show Marge's hair gets pushed back behind her when she's in the car, but that would require a whole new LEGO mold which I don't think LEGO would (or should) spend the money on. So either they'll have an easily retractable rooftop or sunroof so her hair can stick out, or Marge just won't be allowed to ride around with her family. That's if we are even getting a car that is.

I did try and see if they'd been posted already but must have missed them!

I think Marge's head is quite a good size. Not as chunky as Homer or Ned.

This ugly pieces of ABS must be Lego's revenge for bad sale figures.

Why is Lego punishing us with this?

Compared to these heads even figs from Megablocks look quite well....

All of the Simpsons action figures have similar heads to this, so it's not really Lego's fault. They're 2D characters being forced into another dimension, rarely does that ever translate that well, I mean the way they look in video games is always kind of awkward and wrong. And plus I'm almost willing to bet that Fox requested the molded heads, if it were up to Lego they'd probably just have used the standard head with specialized hairpieces.

Hmm, no news recently.

Didn't Votvik say he had Maggie when you were talking to him, J2G? He hasn't posted ANYTHING for 2 weeks.

Keep your eye opened in the next week few weeks. That's all I'll say.

Oh, and the House set should be revealed at Brick Fair Alabama January 11th. I can't wait! :sweet:

The wait is killing all of us... didn't know that date, thanks!
