splatman Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Like the saying goes, "When life hands you spam, make spamcake" Of course, some of you will say, "When life hands you spam, hand it back. I don't want your _____ spam!". Fill in the blank with the silly expression of your choice. Quote
GregoryBrick Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 It's only because Lego themselves have hinted at further sets if the line sells well that I'm optimistic. Where have they done this? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Where have they done this? In the original semi-announcement, which you can read translated on Brickset here. Quote
just2good Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Where have they done this? In the original press release: The launch of the characters is a “small product news” in the beginning, but if the reception is strong enough, can quickly turn up the production. They did the same with Minecraft. Edited January 12, 2014 by just2good Quote
GregoryBrick Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Sure, I just read that release more conservatively than others, I guess - it could be further minifigures and not sets, especially since the clause about 'turn[ing] up production' is appended to the phrase 'the launch of the characters'. Thank you for reminding me of it. Quote
Dorayaki Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Plenty decide to skip Chima, Ninjago, Star Wars, Friends, etc, etc. Lego doesn't rely solely on board members to buy every product they release. Also, a year ago many would think Lego would never devote a CMF line to just one property, yet here we are. Besides, I see far more positive reaction to the house set than negative. Uh, I'm not saying that we should worry about those who won't buy Lego products, that's not the point. As as I mentioned in #952, it's not that the house set is bad, but from one house set we can't see what TLC's strategy is. Quote
BrickG Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Hmmmm I'm pretty sure this will sell decently well with AFOLs... I'm not sure if it could realistically sell well enough as a whole franchise (with the normal 6ish sets). I don't think the Simpsons could support it. Simpsons toys don't sell that well. One set could do great but a whole wave? If I had to guess I'd say no. Maybe though it could support a smaller wave of like 3 sets. It doesn't help that there's no major Simpsons things happening and the show is nowhere near its old peak. I wonder if this is a play to try to get more kids into it since the viewing audience has grown a bit older with the show. Quote
dyntar Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I think the Simpsons if there is anymore sets after the house would run along the lines of Spongebob. Lego Spongebob released about 3 sets every year for 4 or 5 years. Instead of a full wave of 6-10 sets all in one year. Bring the biggest and best set out first that will help to pay for the franchise rights. Then release smaller sets over a few years with other buildings and character. It could work. And i heard that there is a Lego themed Simpsons episode coming out this year. [could be a rumour] Quote

Lance Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I was thinking that maybe the CMF variant of Bart could be Bartman? We already have his normal variant in the house, so it kind of makes sense. Quote
Hepitos Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 the simpson house will be available on 1st Feb. Does anybody know, if VIP Member can buy it earlier? Quote
gedren_y Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It is already listed on the US version of the site, so VIPs may get an early offer, but likely only the day before. Quote

We already have his normal variant in the house, so it kind of makes sense. The CMF variant will most likely be his normal attire and a regular open-eyed face. Bartman can be a SDCC promo, though. Onos Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Anyone knows when Lego will sell other Simpsons Set? Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Anyone knows when Lego will sell other Simpsons Set? I don't think we will see any until at least the 2015 winter wave. Quote
Starrocks923 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 EDIT: Never mind. -Sci Huh? What was that post supposed to be? Anyways, this set looks cool, but it's WAY out of my budget this year...darn. Always wanted a LEGO dollhouse that wasn't for girls. Quote

[could be a rumour] As a longterm TV show, it's kinda reasonable to give only waves each wave but keep it ongoing (unless the license can't prolong). Simpsons could still have news in the latter of 2014. However, I don't think I've heard Lego Spongebob 2014 rumors. Avatar.... uh..... I dunno. Quote
just2good Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Maggie came in the mail today! She's the last of my leaked minifigure purchases. I ordered her early December, and it's days before the set comes out! Still, better late than never. She's made out of two new exclusive moulds- her head piece and her outfit. Here are some pictures: Someone just pointed this out on Flickr, but look what the "torso" allows you to do. I'm away from my "studio", so sorry for the random figure and cruddy quality: Size comparison: Alas, my video on her: Overall, she's a fantastic figure! She's straight up adorable, just like her show counterpart. The size is the best they can do and keep everything else accurate. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 That's awesome! I want her so much! (Also, I've got the money to buy the house. Definitely getting it now!) -Sci Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 That's awesome! I want her so much! (Also, I've got the money to buy the house. Definitely getting it now!) -Sci Hope I played a part in this! Or would we say I played a "Bart" in this? Ok I'll stopAnd thanks for the pictures j2g, I'm sure her mold is interesting, I'll be sure to set her aside with my "favorite" figures once I buy the house! Quote
deskp Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Just2good, thanks for the pictures and video. Could you take a picture of a normal legged minifigure, a short legged minifigure and maggie body minifigure, lined up all with normal minifigure heads? Quote

No later than tomorrow night. Quote
Laservampire Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 If all of the regular CMF heads look as good as Maggie's I'll be happy. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm not sure if anybody has asked this before, just2good, so apologies if they have, but do these figures have the moulded number marks on their hands like CMF figures, or are they the regular-set mould? Quote
