Now that the set is out it might be a good time for them to reveal the other minfigures! Come on!

Eh, they want the movie minifigures to sell well first.

Why on Earth would they include real world characters? That is so unlikely it's really not worth worrying about.

It's profoundly unlikely indeed, but not completely out of the question. LEGO has done at least one licensed theme before that incorporated a minifigure based on a real-world, historical / legendary figure used as a character in the licensed property (Blackbeard, in Pirates of the Caribbean), while other Simpsons products have included figures or other merchandise based on the likenesses of real-world people used as characters in the show (I remember a Simpsons action figure of Stephen Hawking, for one), so there is in fact already a precedent for it on both sides of the equation.

However, I think for it to happen, this theme would have to go on a while and "use up" a bunch of the original Simpsons characters before they got around to doing people who've guest-starred on the show as themselves (also, minifigures of real-world people who are still alive would probably require their approval), so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon - perhaps in LEGO The Simpsons 2016 or 2017 or so, if the theme goes on that long.

Blackbeard is public domain, and the character wasn't really based on true accounts.

For someone living you need the rights to their likeness. While Stephen Hawking's may be available (he does a lot of self-promotion), a Lego figure in his likeness would be difficult to produce without a specially made wheelchair.

I doubt we'll see any of these real world characters in the Simpsons CMF. If we do actually get a Simpsons line of sets it would likely take a couple of conditions to get the real world characters.

1) Fox would have to own the rights to merchandize the cartoon likenesses of these people. (Lego isn't likely to seek out those rights for a single figure.)

2) The character would have to be part of an iconic episode of the Simpsons. (Not that many.)

3) The cost to produce the character would need to be able to recouped. (Given the dedicated molds required for the look of the Simpsons, this seems like the biggest impediment.)

That's just my own logic of the situation.

It's Lego, everything sells well, they should not punish other themes in favor of their movie, either it works or it doesn't.

Lego isn't punishing anybody. It would be ridiculous to release multiple waves of the CMF at the same time. Even if it weren't the Lego movie they still wouldn't do that. They are spacing them out evenly just like they have with every other line. And the Simpsons CMF is being released to coincide with the Lego Simpsons episode airing in May, so the Lego movie has nothing to do with it. And honestly we'll get reveals soon enough. For years Lego has given top priority to their licensed sets to the point that even their own movie is packed full of superheroes and even appearances by the Ninja Turtles. Lego goes above and beyond for their licensed stuff, so this criticism is really unfair when you factor in the sheer amount of effort Lego puts into selling them.

I'm a little tired of people whining about everything not being revealed or out right now. What do people expect, that every Lego product should appear on the shelves by January 1st? It's a dumb move to oversaturate the market. Part of what keeps Lego selling well is by spacing out their releases. They know what they're doing. Just be patient.

It's simple, back in the day they just released items and that's it, you only saw previews of it on toy catalogs and browsed for them at stores to see if they ever came out. What's pissy is that they release half of the other Lego sets to the rest of the world but exclude the American market, right now is the only chance where I can buy them without my wife complaining and baam this happens. Lego is a double standard company, I mean for example Lego Simpsons house is due for release for next month, with as much as only having VIP buy their set early online, my wife surprised me by buying it for me online, except that later on that day without her telling me, I went to the Lego store to buy DC figures and saw the Simpsons house on display and asked if they had it, even then the clerk pointed to their location and sure enough allowed me to buy it without asking me if I was VIP or not, there is clearly no lack of control when target, toys r us or walmart gets a hold of new sets before the actual Lego store does, I heard rumors the sets I am looking are sold at the toys r us stores so I spend half a day tracking them down.

At this point they should just release everything as is, store reps told me they are getting the Simpsons CMF next month, and when I told them May they assured me they were getting some shipment in by end of the month. This is what's frustrating to me... I am hearing two sides of the coin from different Lego workers and personnel...

I actually wasn't sure about this line but so far it has exceed my expectations and I had none!

After buying the set with some hard-earned money set aside, it is such a work of art. Although I don't really have too much intention to play with it, it'll sure be nice to look at and fiddle with the house and its details.

HA, fantastic find Sci! Instagram, right? Anywho, a little sad the doughnut piece isn't a new mould... Oh well. Homer looks fantastic! Glad they have the remote as an accessory.

Also, LOL, the box placing is all mixed up for the figures. Moulded heads and all.
