HomerJSimpson Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I highly doubt Itchy and Scratchy (or Marge and Maggie) are coming together in one bag. They'll each count as a separate minifig and get their own bag. First off, we've never seen them put two figs in a bag before in the CMF line. The closest we ever got was "Where's My Pants?" guy coming with two sets of minifig legs. Secondly, do you really see LEGO giving you two minifigs for a price of one? No way. They want your money and they want you to buy every single one of these figures. I mean, it would be awesome to get two figs in a pack, but it's not going to happen. It happened once to brick queen by accident, she got 2 Abe Lincoln's in one bag. Quote
MicroJow Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I'm thinking Scratchy will be a traditional minifigure, but Itchy will be more of an accessory (like the chihuahua with the Trendsetter or teddy bears with Sleepyhead or Panda Suit Guy). As for Maggie, yeah, I doubt she'd be included as an 'accessory', but then again, there's every chance Lego won't include her in the CMF set and keep her exclusive to the house set. She's the only main family member in the house set who doesn't have wonky eyes. - MJ Quote

They can easily pass him off as a not-to-scale shorthlegged figure with a smaller head, and knock out one of the 16 figures. Then again, I really hope they make a new mould for his tail, but that would require two exclusive new moulds for him- his head and his tail. Additionally, Maggie is definitely going to be in the CMF series. D2C sets never have exclusive moulds, and Maggie herself has two exclusive moulds. It wouldn't make sense not to include her. They'll probably make her accessory in the CMF series three to four 1x1 blocks (E=MC2?) to keep the cost low, despite being printed. Quote

So itchy and scratchy might come in the same bag, but I doubt marge and Maggie. Quote

pranas Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 If Itchy is done as an accessory, he'll come with Scratchy for sure. But personally I think he's going to be a proper minifig. I mean, he needs minifigure arms to hold his mallet or club to beat Scratchy to death with, right? And from a business point of view, it makes more sense to split them up: If you get a one, it's going to make you want to spend more money and buy another bag to get the other and complete the duo. Why get $4 from you (ugh, hate the new price) when they can get $8? I think Itchy's tail would most likely be printed on his back instead of a new mold (a mouse tail would be just too thin and small to bother making a mold for). But what about Scratchy, think LEGO would give us a new cat tail mold? Anyone here into Chima who knows if they already have a mold there that would work as a cat tail? I too have been wondering if Maggie would be a CMF fig or not, due to her lack of wonky eyes in the house. If they didn't include her, that would be a huge blow to fans who can't afford to drop $200 to complete the family. I'm drawing a blank on what variation they could make of her though. Besides different accessories, what variation to the figure itself could they make of her using the new toddler body? The only thing I can think up is giving her sleepy eyes, and that's kind of boring. But then again, so are wonky eyes. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 If you're wondering what variation Maggie could have, I've seen her dressed up for church. As for what she would have as an accessory, her Bobo bear. A small teddy like the LM CMF Panda, but in dark brown. Quote
BartSimpson Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm hoping this will be a May release and sets will come in the Summer (Summer news isn't out yet), but I doubt they would do that... I hope that they understand that there is a really big market for this theme, ( I'm crossing my fingers for a 2015 relese of sets , maybe even winter this year), the guy in the designer video of the house set is clearly a big simpsons fan and I'm sure he has millions of custom sets he built, (one more thing on lego.com , if you click on themes there is a simpsons catagory , but on the display tags it says creator so maybe the catagory is hinting at it expanding into a full theme soon I'm hoping this will be a May release and sets will come in the Summer (Summer news isn't out yet), but I doubt they would do that... I love that idea, as LEGO letter blocks would be awesome. I highly doubt Maggie will be in the series,I know everybody who can't buy the house just says she will be in it but tbh there is a reason she doesn't have weird eyes in the house, lego wants to make at least 1 exclusive character for the people who decided to drop 200 bucks on the set. Sorry but I'm just being real I guess if you want the full family you will have to pay the priceless the house Quote
BartSimpson Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I think Legos plan on this theme is pretty simple , they first release the Simpsons house to see how many actual lego Simpsons fans are out there and will buy anything at any price (but they are smart so they know that there are fans of Simpsons but not maniac fans that will waste $200) so...... Lego waits and waits to see the sales of the house either be really good or really bad ( so far pretty good). ( this decides if they will make the sets at a higher range,EX:$20-$130)and then when they release the minfigures to see if people who aren't willing to give 200 bucks or even non Simpsons fans who think the sets /figures are cool, might give lower prices so the will make sets from $13-$75. And to attract more fish into the trap they let Simpsons fans ( people who watch the t.v show) see that there is a new lego theme based on the Simpsons by havering a special Simpsons episode air on FOX and after the episode they boost there sales into the sky because everyone loves lego so they will get more sales on the house from the people who saw the episode , and less experienced people that came to buy CMF's after they saw the episode will probably just grab a hand full or maybe even a box instead of feeling for figures. ( add on anything else you think lego is planning for the Simpsons theme and say some sets you want. My personal one I want is Bart's treehouse $30 set that fits perfect with the house set.( we all know more stuff is coming but when is it coming is the real question) Quote

Legoman123 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 With the way sales are doing, there is simply no way they won't make more sets. I hope we get more sets. It would be a real shame if Lego decide to stop at a minifigure series and the house. Quote
pranas Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 With The Simpsons House, along with the BttF set and the excitement I've seen so far for the upcoming Ghostbusters set (and not to mention the rise in the public eye brought about by the LEGO Movie), I've seen so many of my non-LEGO friends on Facebook and elsewhere posting images of these sets that they've bought and are having a blast putting together. I've even seen a few of them go out and buy more sets after that first one. I think LEGO has been really smart to start creating these small-batch sets based on these franchises that aren't really for kids (I mean, what kid today actually likes Back to the Future enough to want a $40 set?), and instead for 20 and 30-somethings that have a disposable income and an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Some of them buy the one set and are done, others get pulled back into the world of LEGO and start collecting. I think LEGO has tapped a new market here, and found a new way to bring more folks into the fold, and they'd be smart to pursue it more. That being said, it gives me hope that there's a slim chance we might get more Simpsons sets. Either a whole range of System sets or another massive $200+ set. I mean, they'll already have the minifigure molds after the CMF line and we know how much LEGO likes to get their money's worth out of new molds. They'll probably still have the license. And the house seems like it's been selling really well. So as long as the CMF line flies off the shelves... I'm not going to hold my breath, but I think we have an actual chance at this line continuing! A slim chance, but that's better than nothing, right? Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm just looking forward to see LEGO's message boards after they realize that not everyone is an overly sheltered nut. Quote
BartSimpson Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 With the way sales are doing, there is simply no way they won't make more sets. I totally agree I think that the series is already getting possible sets designed if people will buy a $200 lego set on a theme they probably will buy the CMF's for sure since they are only 4 bucks less ( especially how big kidrobot is and each figure is 10 bucks , so I'm sure people won't have a problem paying $4) this theme is actually a big successes so my worries for it are gone I'm sure it will expand. Every Simpsons fan on here should support this amazing Kwik-E-Mart on Cuusoo. That set definitely looks good but I'm expecting something more like this ( idk who the the creator is I found the image on google images ,whoever it is great job) Quote
eldiano Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 We need Abu with his octuplets in minifigures... with a Shiva shrine for him to pray. That would be awesome. Quote

BrickG Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 As cool as having more Simpsons sets would be I think the Simpsons House will automatically be the best set for a good while. There's nothing more iconic in the series and you can't make every set a $200 building :P. Trying to think of small Simpsons sets... I haven't watched it enough lately though to think of much. Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 The Android's dungeon or the treehouse could be good smaller ones to do... The latter could have Halloween variants, like Devil Flanders, Count Burns, Crazy Homer, Kang and Kodos... Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Woohoo! This pretty much confirms the 'normal versions of characters from the house' theory. Quote

ShadowWolfHount Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Oh My G O S H, a Lego Doughnut my life in completed But anyway I have a feeling or someone already said that they are going to do it but I have a feeling that they are going to use normal Minifigure head for the Collectible Minifigure. Quote
