It's normally shortly before they're due to come out that they're sent to him and he works really quickly to review them before they are widely released. As far as I know, he hasn't gotten these yet and he normally tells the rest of staff when he does.

Thank you! Will look forward to the review. :classic:

Hopefully if this line proves popular, then next year we will see a second series. Maybe including

Comic book guy

Rodd Flanders

Todd Flanders

Skinner

Smithers

Lenny

Carl

Ect.

Mostly the main characters that are absent from the first Series. The line up still sounds good, hopefully we will see pictures in the next few weeks.

This may be wishful thinking. I somehow got the impression from the press release from 20th Century Fox and LEGO that this was a one-off celebrating just the 25th anniversary of the Simpsons - and that nothing else is forecasted in the future. I don't think there will be a 2nd series...

That being said - if TLG had excluded the five members of the Simpsons family from collectible minifigure release, wouldn't that have driven the sales on the Simpsons house through the roof?? If the SImpsons house had sold like gangbusters, then they could have justified a 2nd minifigure release. Odd decision there.

Saw this really cool 'Couch gag' in stop-motion. Gives you a nice idea what the episode will look like:

I saw that so cool

I wonder if we'll see any other characters in the episode other than the 16 announced

I will happily buy every single Simpsons set/minifigure if it'll get them to make more. Not only do I love the Simpsons, but the Torsos are reusable in other themes!

Yes, I'm not particularly interested in having Simpsons Lego sets (I don't mind the show but I don't like licensed themes particularly). However, I am interested to see the torsos and accessories which may fit well with regular yellow minifigs.

Is there anybody who has bought the house that could take some photos of the Simpsons torsos and accessories being used on regular figures? - even better if they can show a range of hairstyles, faces etc. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would appreciate it.

I'm also curious about Maggie and whether this piece will be used for Lego babies in future.

Thanks

If Itchy & Scratchy will come in one bag. Scratchy would be a minifig and Itchy more like the cmf teddybear i suppose?

Why would they come in one bag? That would mean there's fifteen minifigures...

Also, keep in mind that LEGO doesn't make new moulds for D2C sets, so the only way we'll get new moulded Simpsons minifigures not from this series would be from a wide release wave of sets.

Unless TLC is able to increase their production (4 or 5 series per year), that couldn't happen (and shouldn't happen) for the sake of normal series and other licenses who deserve a series. For me it's more realistic to ask some regular sets.

would have liked more females but other than Edna, Patty and Selma there isn't a lot of choice ...

Much agreed. Remember that the previous series provide 6 ladies which was already a progress, there is no reason to make this series hit the bottom. Edna and twin aunts are iconic enough to be in the series, definitely.

The problem Simpsons the show itself has might be that there isn't an iconic "girl" character being a friend/classmate of Simpson siblings. Mackleberry twins might count but it's hard to include one of them only in a blind bag.

Couldn't they do Janie, Lisa's friend? You know, the black girl?

I doubt we'd get her in the CMF line of The Simpsons (assuming we get more than one series). I'd imagine they would prefer to focus on the most iconic characters, and Janie is certainly not a very iconic character at all. I'd prefer to get characters like Willie, Otto, Moe and Mayor Quimby way before Janie.

Yeah, I was just saying she would be good as a girl character to include.

Eh, I'm stoked for the selection this wave, sans the inclusion of Nelson. I would have been happy if Edna was in here, but Patty and Selma are kind of bland. What would Patty and Selma have as accessories? Jub Jub? They're not really very prominent characters, unless in my view. And, it would take up two spots.

Sixteen prominent and iconic spots for these Simpsons characters make it hard to choose just sixteen. I do hope we get another series, but I'm doubtful of that. If anything, we'll get some more D2C sets (a Krusty Burger and Kwik-E-Mart wouldn't require any new moulds).

I would most definitely be more exited about new sets than another minifigure series.

What about the Squeaky-Voiced Teen and Snake?

What about the Squeaky-Voiced Teen and Snake?

Again, they're not as important as many other characters we didn't get this series (CBG, Smithers, Moe, Edna, Skinner, Willie, ect), so I would say if they had a third series. Snake may not be the most kid appropriate character, but I'm sure he'd be fine in a series. This is all just my opinion, though.

No, I meant if they were going to do Kwik-E-Mart and Krusty Burger, they'd seem out of place without the teen and snake.

They can go without them, just put Krusty as a cashier in the Krusty Burger. It wouldn't make too much sense, but that's the only way we can get those as D2C sets, unless they release another CMF series around the same time.

Yeah, I was just saying she would be good as a girl character to include.

As others said unfortunately she's not iconic enough to be in this series. Most of the male characters have more spotlights in this series, at most we can merely replace them with twin aunts and Edna. Unless there's a regular D2C Springfield Elementary School set with some girls included. But still I think school boys are too many in this list.

Patty and Selma are kind of bland. What would Patty and Selma have as accessories?

The aunts are iconic enough to be in this series. Unless we're saying that they don't sell too well.

If there is room for D2C regular sets, I'm inclined to see those who don't fit in regular sets such as Itchy&Scratchy and those whose workplace wouldn't be considered as a set. Krusty Burger and Kwik-E-Mart can both be imagined.

does anyone know the UK price for these, I thought they would be the same as the lego movie ones but now I am thinking they might be more:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HTJL7R0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00HTJL7R0&linkCode=as2&tag=tonbr0b-21

although it sold by ToyWarehouseUK they might just have set this price and it might not mean anything.

I do think that anything over £2.50 will mean I will pass and also puts me off getting the house as the figs in the bag will be the better versions

I find it odd that the house now has no figs I really need so it makes it seem a lot of money to spend maybe that's why they put it out first otherwise people might look see and like it and then just get a £3 bag instead

Posted

Yeah, it seems to devalue the house set a good bit if there are no characters exclusive to it. I'm not a huge Simpsons fan, but I would be more likely to consider buying the house if the minifigures included were at least characters that were exclusive to that set. (Of course, I would be personally more likely to buy into the Simpsons theme if the figures didn't have molded faces - I really think they could have been done with standard minifig construction. I'm probably alone in that, but it is a pretty big disappointment to me...)
