just2good Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Gosh, they sound great, now time to elaborate assuming they are just2good to be true, thanks for the news: Now where are the leaked pictures Yeah, I'm hoping this guy posts more info on Reddit, but we did get a whole lot of info. I think you nailed the descriptions of what we see once we get pictures. Additionally, I imagine the house will have the same things like this one from the Creator line this year- a garage, some living room space, and maybe a fence to see Flanders. Quote

Thanks, I too also hope he posts more info, and yes I reckon it will be similar to that creator set, hopefully it won't be long till we hear more on this theme, and I reckon that at NYCC we will hear and possibly see more on the Simpsons line, I just hope that they dont go giving away an exclusive figure there like 'comic' book guy who would be great for comic con but too good for an exclusive and a theme Id most likely want to complete, thanks again for the rumour set list which I hope ends up being true. CM4Sci Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Though it was obvious, I totally called it on that Bart Skate Trick set. Especially with it being the smallest set. What color will the box art be, though? Yellow? Red? -Sci Quote
just2good Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 What color will the box art be, though? Yellow? Red? -Sci The box color will definitely be yellow, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I think the boxes will have artwork of one or two of the characters in the set in the left hand corner, not in their LEGO version, like the Toy Story 3 boxes. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Yeah, I guess yellow. I'm just so excited for pictures! -Sci Quote
Kez Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 *snip* Yeah, I guess yellow. I'm just so excited for pictures! -Sci If I was to guess Id also say yellow, with perhaps homers head in the corner of the box, or maybe there could be an image of a doughnut. Hopefully the Simpsons house wont come with homers car as Id love for that to be in another set, Im also surprised not to hear anything about chief wiggum appearing in one of the sets (for now anyway) Quote
Vindicare Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 It seems weird that have the whole family, and then some, in one set. That's not how LEGO seems to be doing things. Now, I don't know conversion, but let's take 79103 Turtle Lair Attack. It's $50 USD and has 5 figs. That would be the set I would've imagined to have all turtles included, much like the Simpsons house 'should' have the whole family. I suppose time will tell. Quote
pranas Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Wow, IF that list is true, it is really weird that all five family members would come in one set, even if it the the most expensive one. Also weird that we'd get that many figures period in a set at that price. I mean, as a consumer I welcome that, but it doesn't seem to fit in with the way LEGO usually does things (as Legocrazy81 pointed out above). And at that price I'm wondering if we'll be getting the whole finished house (very doubtful) or just a few rooms and maybe the car. I really can't see them doing the whole house justice at that price. I don't even know if we'd get an exterior of the house at that price. My guess is we'll get a few separate rooms that you can maybe connect with technic pins (the TV room with couch, kitchen, a bedroom or two). And I really think the car would come with the house, since if it didn't you'd really expect it to be it's own set. I mean, it's the most iconic Simpsons vehicle, so it's got to be in the wave somewhere and the house set is the only logical place for it. Quote
just2good Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) - Lisa's Sax Performance about £30 Lisa, Marge, Sherri, Terri Though I still adore this list, I would of rather took Sherri and Terri out and had Clancy and Ralph Wiggum in this one. Perfect it's a stage- "Uh, Ralphie, get off the stage, sweetheart." Edited August 12, 2013 by just2good Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Well, they seem to be starting off classic and the twins seemed to be in the older episodes more Quote
cimddwc Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Interesting... I imagine "Springfield Shops" about the same size as Lone Ranger's Colby City; and I'm wondering what color they'll use for the Simpsons house – it should be flesh or light flesh, shouldn't it? Would be nice to get bricks in one of these colors. :) Edited August 12, 2013 by cimddwc Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 It would be good to get lots of bricks in those colors. I just hope they don't cop out like with Friends Olivia's house with all of the 1x2x5 panels making the build less substantial. I don't care to own lots of 'light flesh' panels. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 That speculated wave of sets sounds decent enough, though I am curious as to how LEGO are going to be able to make the £20 and £30 sets large enough to warrant those prices. The only real issue I have with these sets is the fact that we get Sherri and Terri before characters such as Ralph, Chief Wiggum, Sideshow Bob, Moe and others, though I am sure all these characters will come in future waves if this first wave sells well enough to warrant future waves.I eagerly await pictures of these sets. Quote
pranas Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yeah, it's really weird that they are doing Sherri and Terri in this first and most likely only wave (if this list is even true) over more fan favorite characters. I mean, I don't think you'll find any Simpsons fans who's favorite character is Sherri and/or Terri. Here's a thought, what if the person who saw this list got confused and we are actually getting the OTHER twins from Springfield: Patty and Selma? I mean, as far as fan favorite characters go I'd think Patty and Selma would be way higher up the list then Sherri and Terri. Quote

I mean, as far as fan favorite characters go I'd think Patty and Selma would be way higher up the list then Sherri and Terri. Sounds plausible! Also, if LEGO does have Sherri and Terri, maybe it's because they're cheap to make? I mean, they can litterally throw in two od the same figure. And for those wanting the Wiggums and stuff, I'm sure they'd be in a special edition set like TMNT had as the sixth sets. Quote
ndawgg Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) If those leaks are true, then I have a theory as to why they chose those sets/characters. Could be they're taking them from the show's intro. Bart skateboards home from school, Lisa is in music class (with Sherri and Terri), Homer is at his console (sort of) before rushing home, Bart skates past some Springfield shops, and they all arrive home to the house. Makes sense, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M5w8--YtUg Edited August 12, 2013 by ndawgg Quote
LiamM32 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) I normally don't get many licensed sets, but I actually like this idea. I rarely watch anything on broadcast TV, but this is one of my few favourites when I do watch TV. People have complained about it being unsuitable for children. I think that the Simpsons is the most child-friendly of all the animated comedy shows targeted mainly at adults. I honestly think that it is better for children than Star Wars, which we don't often get complaints from. I admit that I thought of this license idea before, but I wouldn't expect it to be done willingly by Lego, but Cuusoo at the most. My now-10-year-old brother has said some interesting things to our parents that they didn't expect him to know (such as Heaven and Hell), that he said that he learned from the Simpsons. They would probably look better next to classic yellow minifigs than most licensed minifigs (as long as they use the same head mold), because even in the show they have yellow skin. They might make a new head mold that is 1-plate taller with a mouth bulge, but I would prefer that they use the same head for compatibility. If they use the classic head, than I would expect new hair pieces that would be meant to blend-in with the head better. I am glad that they will mostly be small sets, as it doesn't have the "nerdy" appeal of LotR to make people spend the big bucks. Most of my money on Lego is for a few large unlicensed sets such as Modular buildings, trains, etc. But I would probably just want to spend about $30 Canadian on a Simpsons thing so it doesn't set me back much from my main focus. I think it would be ideal for the Simpsons sets to be made mostly out of basic but not very small system parts, to give it a good price for the volume of the set. Legoman123 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I am really happy with most of the sets there, but I am really dissapointed in no moe's taven... I would of loved this in lego, but you never know we might get it yet, if not this wave the next one, fingers crossed for it, would love it... It's in my top 5 wanted Simpsons sets. ;-) Quote

Capt. Redblade Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I do hope they include an Inanimate Carbon Rod minifigure in the Control Panel set. Quote
ndawgg Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 For Moe's they can do Moe's Family Feedbag from the episode where it became a family friendly restaurant! Quote
KingPixels Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Do you think the two children will have dwarf legs? Or will they just make the heads of the adults a bit larger? What about Maggie? Quote
just2good Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Do you think the two children will have dwarf legs? Or will they just make the heads of the adults a bit larger? What about Maggie? I'm pretty sure the kids in the theme will have dwarf legs, except maybe for Nelson. Maggie might have a new piece similar to the octopus legs, with just the blanket extending. Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Well I at least hope in one of the sets we will get a duff bear, we really do need that. Quote

I'd think she'd get something more like an ordinary slope brick, or perhaps even a couple of the new-ish 1x2 plates with a slope on one end. Quote
