just2good Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Same here. One doughnut is still great to have, but I wish there was a better way to get, like, half a dozen if I wanted to. Kind of related, I was hoping that we'd get another "flavor" donut (vanilla?) with Chief Wiggum, but his two accessories are great exclusives, so I don't mind. Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I'm going to get at least five homers and make a Springfield Gorge scene. Six so I can have another homer on a skateboard. Quote

jluck Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I've finally gotten around to looking at these so I felt I'd share my thoughts. First off, I primarily am involved in Lego for CMF and architect so I follow these closely. Obviously, a lot has been said regarding this series so I'll just focus on what I personally want and why. I'm not a Simpson fan so I'll be basing my wants on accessories. I love Homer's accessories, the donut is awesome! I want the baseball bat because I was able to build a series 2(?) baseball player at the Lego store but still need the bat. Several of the 2x2 accessories loom cool, I'll need a closer look. I'm interested in getting a closer look at Flanders mug, see what's on it. It may have already addressed but what is in Mr. Burns hands? That may be the extent of my wants from this series. I've never been a completionist so this series doesn't bother me at all. Quote

I've never been a completionist so this series doesn't bother me at all. Mr. Burns carries a fishbowl with a mutant three eyes fish. And he has a radioactive bar just like in the Simpsons house set. Flanders mug reads "I <3 South Paws" show relation probably. Yes they don't give whole CMFs in lego stores when building Minifigures. My tribal chief is missing a spear for that reason. Good thoughts! Quote
Arigomi Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) Flanders mug reads "I <3 South Paws" show relation probably. "South Paws" is slang for left handed people. Flanders owns and operates a store in the Springfield mall called The Leftorium. It sells items for left-handed people such as left handed baseball gloves. The mug that Flanders is holding is probably one of the novelty items he sells at The Leftorium. Edited March 29, 2014 by Arigomi Quote
Delta62 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Never thought i see the day when the Simpsons and lego come together. Back when I was a kid i would of loved it but now all i have to say is blah... There's only so much I can take lol but that's just me. But the mini figs do look cool though. Quote

Maybe that's why he's posed with it in his left hand? ;) Kind of related, I was hoping that we'd get another "flavor" donut (vanilla?) with Chief Wiggum, but his two accessories are great exclusives, so I don't mind. Just like the Friends cookie and strawberry pieces, I feel like the donut will come back later. Maybe in city? Maybe elsewhere? Quote

Maniac4Legos Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Strawberry? Ina few Friends sets, there is a 1x1 round tile detailed as a strawberry. Here: http://brickset.com/parts/6055381 Also, this is the cookie I was talking about: http://brickset.com/parts/6055384 Quote
Bricknblue Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 This is what I keep talking about. What you said isn't very considerate for people who like the simpsons. Exactly HOW are they lacking? And HOW are the heads horrible? As many people have said, normal heads would look AWFUL with prints. I've seen some, and they really are bad. It's not that they have Toy Story heads, it's they look too big for their bodies, like it's one scale off, also the heads are overly detailed for flat / skinny mini figure bodies. The torsos best features are their short sleeve arms, but otherwise very plain, and the "special" pieces are nothing special besides the awesome fish. And I'm a fan of The Simpsons, people here really can't take differing opinions very well. Quote

Posts about the simpsons are getting flooded with hate. People think that normal heads would look better, but they're still useless and wouldn't sell. Regular minifigs and Simpsons ones can go good together. I really don't like Star Wars, but I don't bad mouth it. Quote

I haven't read all, like, 60 pages of replies here on Eurobricks, but in most discussions I've seen in general, those complaining about the heads do seem to give reasons; mainly, that the size is too large. BlueberryWaffles Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 The more I see these, the more I want some...I'm not a Simpsons fan at all but I do need a baseball bat...and the baby torso would be nice to have...and Millhouse will go in my TLM display.... (sigh) Good bye, money! Quote
Toby Adams Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 I thought the doughnut was going to be an updated LOTR ring mold. Quote

Well, I can state that if they had used regular "Lego heads" for the Simpsons characters I would have never purchased the house or any of the CMF figures when they come out. It just would not have looked "right" to me. Plus, it's incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to make 3D what is widely known as a 2D drawing. Quote

rob-cubed Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'd have been happier if the original figs with the house didn't look like they were high... Homer, Marge, Bart... all looked "off" in the eyes. The CMF line seems to have improved on the originals. The TV Show has seen much better days in terms of script and popularity, but this license still has some serious legs. Quote
Super Goblin Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Reports of these being found at Walmart already. Some have even sold on eBay. Quote
Hammerstein NWC Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 So glad they included Monty Burns teddy Bobo with Maggie! Quote
