Legoman123 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 According to Telegraph, it will air on the same date, May the 4th: http://www.telegraph...-from-Lego.html Thanks. Quote
ndawgg Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I read an article that said that the episode took 2 years to complete, which is twice as long as a regular episode, so it's fair to assume that they could have started it before the minifigures were finalized. The same article said that Lego approached the Simpsons with the idea of doing the couch gag in Lego-form, but The SImpsons came back wanting to do an entire episode. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 It's a bit odd of me to say this, but perhaps it was decided to go with those designs to show how the actual products are so much better and how LEGO did the right thing in going with moulded heads rather than normal heads as some people desired them to? Quote
Sam892 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I guess one of the advantages of giving the characters this look, allows the writers to include characters who haven't been physically made yet to be included. The animated and designs can most likely quickly design most of Springfield on standard heads than they could on fully sculpted ones. Either way I'm guessing the episode will contain a lot of jokes about LEGO. Quote
HomerJSimpson Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 The court house looks really nice, I just don't know what those other buildings are. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 ^ The other buildings are probably just generic Springfield businesses rather than anything of importance, and LEGO jokes are pretty much guaranteed. Quote
Gomek Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Someone has to be smart enough to abort this ASAP. Take another 6 months to do the molded heads!! What ever it takes. I agree that these are so ugly that it really does go beyond opinion. Abort! Abort! Abort! Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) I agree. I did a quick mock-up in Photoshop. Without the nose and ears, I think it looks MUCH better, and probably closer to what people were expecting when the line was announced: *snip* Much better? It looks terrible. Edited April 16, 2014 by CorneliusMurdock Please don't quote pictures. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If it meant we could see the moulded heads in the animation rather than what we are actually getting, I would much prefer this episode to be delayed. However, it is evident that this episode is being released to tie in with the theme itself, so a release push-back is not going to happen at this stage. Quote

Yes, I'm sure it's very important to time the episode so that it is released at the same time as the toys that look nothing like the characters in the episode. Somewhere there are people working at Lego and Fox that realized this is a horrible mistake, and they were over ruled. Quote
just2good Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I got the complete set of figures last week at Walmart. I put together a video review that I think may be one of my best. There's front and back simultaneous views, and even comparisons to the the House set figures. If you don't like video reviews, consider watching it muted. Now that I do have them all, is there any specific picture requests with the figures y'all want? Quote
arc Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Now that I do have them all, is there any specific picture requests with the figures y'all want? could you take a close up on homer's donut and remote? Thanks. Quote
just2good Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) could you take a close up on homer's donut and remote? Thanks. Okay, I'll take that when my camera is working. Here's another photo from the episode: To be honest, I think this is the best looking image we've had involving the figures from the episode. Homer doesn't look great here, but he doesn't look too bad, either. From this article, which is a good read. Edited April 17, 2014 by just2good Quote
deskp Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Lol, that really does not work for me. Looks like someone dressed up as homer instead of being homer himself. And they would look better without noses. Quote
Gooker1 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Yay for molded. Can't reiterate that enough Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 That latest image is nowhere near as terrible as any of the others we have had from this episode so far. However, the designs being used for this episode are still dreadful, particularly with the ears and nose being printed on the head. Is it really necessary to have printed ears and nose. Quote
jee_ace_guy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) Hopefully TLG choose the molded head option :) Edited April 17, 2014 by jee_ace_guy Quote
Yooha Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Uh, this cartonn lego head looks horrible! I'm glad that we're getting molded heads. Quote
namioik Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Now that I do have them all, is there any specific picture requests with the figures y'all want? I do have a question! An odd one but there's a method to the madness! Could you compare the heights between marge Simpson and Abe Lincoln from the movie? I bought that 2x8 Lego mini figure display and marge's head looks like it might be too tall to fit in it :( Thanks! Quote
HomerJSimpson Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Hopefully TLG choose the molded head option :) They did. That has been known since November. Quote
Legoman123 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Homer looks horrible with a head like that. Quote

Cult_Of_Skaro Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 By the way, for anyone who's wondering what 'Donut Fancy' is from, it's in the background of the HD opening, in Springfield Grocery Store. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Those pictures from the episode are all completely awful. I want to watch this, but it looks so bad I'll be surprised if I am able to actually endure it all. This is very disappointing. Quote
